Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 8

I can't believe Steve is still Kate's Bodyguard.
I've said it a couple of times-they will be a couple as soon as the divorce is over.
She complained way to loudly how she won't date anyone, and who wants to be involved with that many kids.
I'm betting when the truth comes out, she will say, how, Steve loves her kids, bla, bla bla, her situation, bla, bla, bla, they didn't want it to happen.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

that was Kate & Jon's agreement. She did the touring, he stayed home.

I know it was their agreement, and I have no problem with that, I was just stating that Kate shouldn't expect any money from him because he wasn't the bread winner, she was.

Missing the old thread ... I feel like I'm going through DISboards withdrawal :upsidedow

I agree!

there's a show on next week. I guess there's an interview, but it can't be long because the show is only an hour (I think) :rotfl:

I think maybe it's two hours? I can't remember but I just saw the commercial this morning for it. According to tvguide.com it's an hour tomorro night.

That's great they were able to sell it!

I say good for her trying to do something that she enjoys to support her family. Doubt she will see a dime from Jon.

Totally agree!

Kate has been in the news today, she has an interview coming up with Barbara Walters this week.

Apparently, the kids are sobbing because the camera crew is gone.

It's got to be a big change. I could imagine the kids are upset by the crew not being there at all anymore.

this is a quote from that story:

they huddled in a side room? why?

I thought that was odd too!

but that was by their choice. Jon had previously been the breadwinner.

Thanks guys for the PM's and the encouragement.

Coming back on in hopes that talk can be about them, how the divorce is going, (thanks for the info about the house selling, I'm glad for them, that is one debt off their shoulders) if anyone knows how the kids are, and not how much people dislike them (since we all don't).

I would be curious enough to watch a show by Kate. In fact I'm hoping she gets something that will help her support her children and something she enjoys. If Jon gets something that is decent, I will be happy for him as well.

As for Kate and her bodyguard..I'm still holding out hope that he recognizes that this is a job, and that he and his wife are and will remain together. He is good with J & K's kids, and I hope that remains so..I sure want someone who is around them a lot, to be kind to them. I could never fault him for caring about the kids he's been around so much.

I miss seeing the kids, but I hope that things are going well for them, now that they are out of the eye of the camera's and paps.

I hope they have a wonderful Christmas and that they truly find peace amongst their entire family..isn't that what most of us wish for them?

Exactly, it was their choice, I am agreeing with you, but I stand by what I say, because she was the bread winner, why should she expect to get anything from Jon. I was making a comment to the pp who said she had better get a job because she won't get anything out of Jon. She isn't used to Jon making the money, so she like to work and wanted it that way, so she should get a job and therefore won't have to rely on Jon.

I agree with that, too. Especially the part about Kate enjoying the work.

So you guys do not think that Jon should give any sort of money in child support?

I think yes he should because it is the right thing to do, but it seemed to me that you were stating the Kate Had to work because she wouldn't get anything from JOn, when she has made it quite clear that she was the one who worked and handled the finances and Jon stayed home because this is what she and maybe he both wanted.

I would think that feeding and clothing 8 children would cost a lot of money. I would *hope* that Jon is going to step up to the plate and pitch in with that. But if not, someone has to feed them, that is what I was saying. Since he thinks nothing of draining the account to buy things for his girlfriends, if I were Kate, i would be doing whatever I could to be able to provide for my family on my own without having to rely on the loser ex-husband.

I pretty much agree with you, however Kate doesn't seem to think anything about buying very expensive shows getting her nails done and all of that good stuff. True not spending as mush as Jon did( at least I hope not). IMHO they are both losers.

If they continue with the same schedule of splitting custody and Jon & Kate staying in the house with the kids ... and splitting those expenses equally, I'd say no. But outside of that, I'd have to see what the custody arrangement is.

this is a quote from that story:

Maybe they were done for the day, and they were having a short meeting in the room, so the resturant could open for the day, who knows.

And someone said, the kids were crying because they were not taping anymore? Sort of sad, that the kids feel their lives were centered around a camera filming their every move. I sure hope, within a few months, they can start to feel differently. Otherwise, these kids are going to need help.

I might have misread or misunderstood the article, but I took it as they huddled in the room after the local/tabloid media showed up.

sadder still that their mom continues to share their feelings with the world. IMO.

I hope they will both anti up and pay towards the kids support. If Kate earns more than Jon, I would expect her amount to be more, just like in other support cases. If Jon earns more, I would expect his amount to be more.

I assume the kids miss the camera crew, since they were around them so much. Prob the kids saw them much as someone would see a relative or close friend that spends a lot of time with them. They prob do miss them, and I would expect nothing less. Kids are resilient however, and I expect they'll move on and remember those times fondly. It seemed those were good times for the kids and in the begining at least for their family. It would be a lot of speculation to indicate the kids need any type of help, because they miss people (even to the point of crying..perhaps that even happened when Jodi and Kevin were no longer in their lives) that had been with them over 3 years. Much like when someone moves from a neighborhood and misses their friends, or perhaps a grandparent that lived near that they saw often.

I'm back :goodvibes We've had a bunch of real life drama around here -- some good, some sad -- nothing bad in our immediate family but it has been sooooo distracting and I have just felt Bleck! about everything for the past few days.

Maybe the people buying it, have no clue who the Gosselins are.

Yup, I wondered about that too -- I guess TLC is still paying his salary?

Yeah, kids cry when you take their candy away too, but they're better off. I'm sure they're also happier for a lot of reasons too.

But there is something really wrong about this -- they need counseling big time.

Thanks guys for the PM's and the encouragement.

Me too. I'm happy for them that they get to have Christmas -- not a Christmas show filmed in October. That alone should make the holidays more exciting for them ie. they get to enjoy it the same way as their school friends are doing.

Exactly. :thumbsup2

Kate's hair looks weird (not trying to be mean, its just looks different but kind of like the old style :confused3).. I haven't seen Mady look happy like that in awhile. :thumbsup2 I hope that means they are all happy and doing well since the show ended!

Yeah, it looks like she's parting it in the middle?

I clicked on the photos in the link -- the ones with the kids at the playground. I've never actually seen kids in a playground without any smiles, but here's the proof that that is possible. It's funny how the kids were kept in the "compound" until after the show ended -- now they're paraded out in public to play? I'm wondering where the bodyguard was that day ie. he was there to stop a news station from filming Kate serving food in a restaurant, but nobody is there to protect the kids' privacy while they're playing? This makes no sense to me :confused3
