Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 8

My take on last night's performance was how TLC edited it to make Kate look like the victim (again) and Jon the villian. But that's just my two cents.

Well I hope it does come together I love Paula and Kate I think they would do a great talk show

The View now talking about J&K. The ladies are still not not liking the show. All glad show is over. Me too.

This show has been a train wreck that won't end. I thought last nights show was more to bash Jon then anything. I think TLC would of gotten more sympathy by showing the beginning of the show when they were in love and were having a good time. This show ran its course and its time for those kids to have some privacy.

wasn't that fabulous? LOL ... they sure didn't hold back on their feelings there, especially about Jon.

I liked the old threads. I'll miss them and this one.
Me Three

Kate seemed sincere to me too last nite. But sometimes when someone gets what they want, its quite easy to be nostalgic about the past. Regardless how Kate treated Jon, or Jon spoke back to Kate, Kate was the one who said over a year ago, she wanted out.

I still say within a year, her body guard and her will be together.

So J&K just have to go back to their old professions and support their 8 kids that way. It can be done. As far as her own talk show...:rotfl2:you got to be kidding.

Me four!

I missed it..had to pick up a kid from work and when I got home I totally forgot about it being on tonight...well I'm sure there will be a rerun of it. I for one will miss the show.

I also loved watching all the travel shows and seeing them go places I will never go

I missed it as well - it was a long Monday!

I'm in the minority here. I feel so bad for Kate I think this has been hard on her. I think she is really thinking about the kids and trying to do what's in there best interest.

I think Jon is just dong for Jon and that is all he cares about. He is going to have to get used to the kids trying to play on parent against the other one, Just like Mady did last night.

I agree with you. I can't comment on the show since I haven't seen it yet...maybe I'll watch it on Thursday.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone if I don't make it back before then!

Others have tried it, some have made it and some have failed.
Who knows, Oprah is stopping-next year. Plus, I can't imagine what the legal fee's are. I found this on radaronline. $43,000 is a year's salary for most of us.

Pacific Coast NewsJon Gosselin’s former divorce attorney, Charles Meyer, filed an emergency petition Monday to ensure he gets the fees owed to him by Gosselin.

Meyer, who withdrew from the Gosselin divorce in September, claims that Gosselin owes him approximately $43,000 and that Gosselin agreed to pay up from his share of the property division upon completion of the divorce.

Now Meyer wants to ensure he gets paid before Gosselin walks with his share of the cash.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported a divorce arbitrator will divide Jon and Kate's financial assets by December 21, making the finalization of the divorce possible by the end of the year.

A source close to the divorce case told RadarOnline.com exclusively, “I guess Charles Meyers is doing this because he’s afraid he was going to get stiffed!

“Meyers claims he had an agreement with Jon, to the extent that if Jon got any money, he authorized the arbitrator to pay him out of Jon’s distribution.

“That would be off the top of Jon’s distribution. When he heard Jon was going to dispute that, he filed something to enforce the agreement that he believes he had with Jon.

“It doesn’t affect Kate at all. But it’s another classic drama surrounding Jon.

“Listen, lawyers normally don’t get paid this way…all the arbitrator is supposed to do is divide the assets between the parties.

“Now, the courts can award one party to pay counsel fees to the other party.

“But they don’t get involved between the party and their lawyer or, in this case, their previous attorney.

“That’s between the lawyer and the client. In this case, Jon apparently told Meyers that he would get paid directly from Jon’s equitable distribution proceeds.”

When contacted by RadarOnline.com Gosselin’s current lawyer, Mark Jay Heller said, “ I know nothing about it. That lawyer walked off the case. I have not been served. If I get information I will be happy to share it with you.”

I think next year we are going to see Kate & the kids in a new show.

That could well be exactly what happened. I mean, they've got no reason to play nice with Jon now, do they? And if there's anything to the rumors that Kate could have her own show on TLC in the future, obviously they'd want to make her as sympathetic and likable a character as possible, or people won't watch. I know MY feelings about her changed from last night's episode... she definitely seemed more vulnerable and real and less like a (there's the perfect word for this but it's so not DIS-friendly  ) shrew than she's come off before.

And no matter how much they edited Jon's actions to make him "seem" like the bad guy in this, what he actually SAID spoke volumes. Talking about how he "felt free" now that he wasn't dealing with Kate and the kids on a daily basis, bringing up Hailey, being sure to clarify that he and Kate would "NEVER be married to each other again" (as though anyone thought they would), and the tantrum with Mady and Cara. It was ridiculous. He really made himself look horrible.

I watched the last 1/2 hour of the show last night although I have never watched a full show at all. I have stopped the remote for a few minutes when it was on in the past but listening to Kate ramble and yell made me click it off quickly. Never have been a fan but I do enjoy this topic and reading what all of you say.
I think they taped Jon's part months ago before he cut off ties with TLC, just after they announced the divorce. I don't think he would have taped on the couch since all the court filings have happened. Also, he looked grubby and sunburned. He has cleaned up his act a bit since he has proclaimed "the new Jon".
I was disgusted listening to Kate and her crying. Can anyone turn on the tears faster? She knew this day would come and she should have been ready for it. Saying over and over it's too soon etc... just made me want to go to the couch and slap some sense into her.
And that slimeball Lohen, I guess Jon didn't realize that he would be taping all the conversations to use in the future. That guy needs someone to slap a suit against him. Isn't there a law against taping a convbersation unless the other party knows?

I've been quiet recently, because I think the whole thing is just horribly depressing, and I have had 'flu.

I don't think this is necessarily the end for the Gosselin children, much though so many of us want it to be . . . Kate will sell those kids lives forever, if she gets her way.

Eh, I TIVOed the last episode and wished I had not. Kate weeping. Kate justifying, Kate lying her rear end off. Kate chucking Jon under the bus. 'Scuse me, but Jon taking the kids to the fire station for charity is a publicity stunt, but Kate selling location stunts with kiddies is not?

Yep, that was very old footage of Jon. Before he stopped filming.

The (really bad) voiceovers were all Kate. Such twisted edited footage. And really so obvious. All it said to me was that TLC is exploitative.

And . . . RadarOnline seems to be owned by TLC. Michael Lohan (he is scum) seems to have a hot-line to TLC. Did Jon know that phone call was taped? If he did not know, it strikes me as illegal.

I'm back to watching for outcomes in the Gosselin debacle in the legal system. I think it will be interesting.

I just want to add that there are some really, truly, cool thoughtful and intelligent people here. I am so glad to cyber know you. You know who you are :love:

I'm not sure that this thread will stop, cold turkey, because there are people who are still concerned for the kids. And will continue to advocate for them being off the air.

Just my opinion, but if Kate has "won" this battle, you will see those children again. And that will be wrong. Very wrong. The children need privacy, and for their mother to quit profiting from them.

ITA Walden! Kate will do whatever she can to keep that gravytrain rolling. How many times did she say last night about it was not necessary to end the show and the kids have gotten a lot of opportunities that they wouldn't of gotten due to the show. Yeah Kate, when your parents don't work, you usually don't go on vacations. Your show turned into vacation after vacation and when you weren't going away to California or Hawaii, you were getting a brand new kitchen or a motorcycle.

Really bad editing concerning Jon. Could they of thrown the guy under the bus one more time. Kate and her turn on tears. She certainly didn't look or act like someone who's family is breaking up on national tv.:happytv

I hope you feel better now!

I caught the beginning of the second showing last night and my jaw about hit the ground when I heard Kate said the show as her job, let her be with her kids and not be away from them (something like that). I guess if you don't know anything about the back story, you would buy that, but come on! I turned it off after that.

I don't really understand the firestation thing, it had to be set up by TLC just as they staged everything else to make a show. Their whole life is (was :))a publicity stunt for TLC! I'm sure the kids were prompted to say their lines.

Jon threw himself under the bus.

I was going to say the same thing - he threw himself under the bus - everything he said came out of his mouth.

I think Kate did her fair share of saying negative things about Jon. I noticed on the directors board her interview was taped 10/20/09. Her voiceovers were ridiculous. The problem with the firestation scene was the kids didn't know what to do. TLC must of set it up before they severed the ties with Jon. Its amazing what a little editing will do to a story line. Its kind of like when Kate turns her tears on and off. :sad2

ITA, it bugs me EVERY time Jon whines about losing his twenties. "I got married at 22, had twins at 23, sextuplets at 27." blah, blah, blah, I've heard it him say that SO many times and yet I have NEVER heard him say "but I have eight beautiful children so it was worth it." I always wait for him to tack that on to the end and I'm still waiting. :sad2:

I was a little sad at the end of last night's show. Even though I know it's best for the kids, I am really going to miss them. I've been watching from the beginning and I always watched because of the kids. I truly enjoyed watching them. They always made me smile. I enjoyed the kids when they were at home doing normal things and I enjoyed watching them on trips and going different places. They were so cute when they met Elmo and the Sesame Street gang. I loved seeing the girls at the Butterfly House with the butterflys and bugs. The boys were so darling at the dude ranch. Yes, I'm going to miss the kids. Such a shame this is how it all turned out. I wish nothing but the very, very best for them now.
