Is Maksim, Russian?
I'm only asking as from what I understand, Russian dance teachers are quite different from American dance teachers. While it may be true she wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes, his statement is a perfect demonstration of why.
There are other dancers on this show not respecting their dance teachers and having bickering moments.
I don't feel it is their place to issue public statements that condemn any dancer in any way. It is unprofessional.
I think she does get the point and realizes she sucks at it.
Remember the celeb who put the coin in his butt cheeks (weird, but effective) to train for one dance and when Emmitt Smith was given a broom stick to learn proper carriage---
Those are things you do for people who do not have dancing skills in order to make the dancing real to them so that they can understand in terms and ways that make sense.
I have no dance skills. I have taken a dance class. We ladies were just chatting about it today--all of us recognize Kate's lack of skill and "mean streak" that she seems to have.
But we also recognize that when we were learning hip hop and tap--especially when we, in our 30s were learning the tap routine of my 8yo dd at the time....
It is very very very very very difficult to teach someone with no rhythmn, no training to get teh steps right.
We did have fun and we enjoyed it--but there were moments where teh teacher breezed through a seemingly simple combination and we looked at her like a monkey looking at a math problem.
Slower tempos and breaking things down to the most simplest of steps was critical if teacher expected us to get it. I'm not sure I see Tony doing that a whole lot since he hates Kate so much.
Reminds me of when I tutored my brother in math. I got it, but failed to understand why he could not. I insisted on teaching him the way I understood it. He opted to fire me and struggle through it alone.
I'm not saying this to defend Kate--but more to condemn the supposed "professionals" or are taking to the airwaves or who have loquacious friends who dish to the tabloids. It isn't professional, and if you have to defend yourself that much--perhaps it is time to learn some new tricks to deal with the grasshopper. B/c it is clear she ain't getting it. So teacher must find a new way.

I don't see Tony using such a description to help make a dance move relatable to Kate.)
