See---I think we're the only thread where opposites attract and agree sometimes.

Let me first say that I can't stand Kate, let me secondly state that I don't like Jon much better. Now, that being said, if Kevin and Jodi are so wrong, (and I personally don't believe that they are, but who knows for sure),

I'm not saying they are even lying. I am saying the time to come out about thse kids (good for them, if they are honestly trying to help others and not even getting paid) was when it was happening. Not when they were off the show because they weren't going to be paid.

Then why aren't her parents or any of her other sisters stepping up to defend her. And I don't want to hear the excuse that maybe they are remaining quiet because they don't want to be hounded by the paps. I can guarantee you that if Kate isn't wrong as Kevin, Jodi and a lot of other people believe, then someone in the family should speak up. To me this speak volumes. There is no way I would let some one in my family be attacked like this if they didn't do what they are being accused of.

If that is the excuse then it's their excuse. Even if someone in the family came out and said, Kate is a good mom, anything they did was for her kids, what would happen? Those people would be the next ones talked about on the internet and torn apart by those who don't believe it.
My sister's would want to defend me to their deaths (we are pretty close), but I would try very much to stop them, rather than have them hurt by what I have or haven't done right.

Here I go speculating again, but a couple of questions to ponder:

Do you think Kate will ever write a children's book or series?

If she could write them and make DWTS money, do you think she would since it would likely mean less air-time? I am actually surprised she hasn't been approached and that does not mean that I feel she is a good mother by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't watch a show if she's on. everything I know, I've gotten from this thread and the internet, so she's not getting a direct TV ratings boost from me! Us Weekly & People have, though

I assume the hits on radar and other internet blogs, etc, also make money with the ads, if more people click on them. All of us are helping to keep this going. Thank God, what else would I do while the printer prints and prints (and I just got a new color laser that finishes before I get this board pulled up, how will I explain to my hubby/shipper why I am so slow now LOL?). I wonder, is youtube supported with ads, and the more clicks they get the more the ads will pay?

Pardon me if I don't jump up and down for joy at their hypocrisy.

I guess it is like the pot calling the kettle black. I think Kate started this venture becuase she knew she could make money. I am one of those people that happen to believe that she started shopping around for a TV gig before they were born. May not be true, but she is so entitled that if it smells, walks and talks like a duck, then it must be.

I watched Kates interview on Good Morning America, she contradicts herself even in that one interview. First she states that the letter to Hannah was about Hannah having to make adjustments and not dealing well with the separation. Then in the next breath she says how her kids are the most perfect wonderful well adjusted kids on the planet. Well from what I saw on the last season, Those kids were turning out to be just like their mom, they were turning into little spoiled brats. Sorry but it is true. Kate need to work on those kids, they aren't as wonderful as they seem. Maybe if she spent more "quality time" (which by the way, I don't believe in) then they would be better behaved.

I don't know.

The celebs I have known to write children's books are uber-famous. Kate's authoriship is only within the realm of her experience of a mother of a bunch of kids. Without a co-author, I'm not sure she'd have the talent for a fiction series.

I'm also inclined to believe that she enjoys sharing her "expertise" and "knowledge" rather than her creativity when it comes to children.

A storybook would not allow for that.

I have heard that excuse given here on the Dis boards, not from any of her siblings. And even if I thought that no one would believe me, you can bet that I would speak up about any family member that I thought was being accused of things that weren't happening.

My understanding about the Kevin/Jodi thing was that the network wanted to pay them (since they were on so many shows and were a big part of their lives) but Kate refused to put them on the payroll. I am thinking that at that point it was escalated to where Kate then cut them out of their lives, with that being presented I think that Kevin and Jodi realized the degree to which Kate was committed to the show and not the family dynamics. Ironically they then went on to hire a babysitter so... It took over a year for the hearing and ruling so who knows exactly when Kevin and Jodi initiated the efforts to change the scheduling etc.

This is all based on what Jodi's sister wrote on her blog which I will admit I read because yet again with working midnights there's really only TV and the internet to fill in the slow times at work.

For me, I just find it hard to believe that Kevin and Jodi became money hungry when they did so much for the kids, a lot of times without even being asked.

If you google "Jodi's sister's blog" it pops up before you finish typing it.

Of course this is logical. Surely someone would be defending her if Kevin (WHO IS HER BROTHER!) and Jodi were completely fabricating their claims. These two people (and all 4 kids) were big parts of their lives. The kids have to miss them.

Jon showering the kids was weird to see on camera. The poop in the crib and in the potty and in the back of the van...all weird. Pudding painting grossed me out nearly as much as Jon's plastic grocery bag escapade (that's sterile for the self proclaimed germaphobe.) The full potties all poured togther is something Jodi talked about being pretty gross. The potties were everywhere. There was dried pee all in the floor of the van. Dirty potties were in the van. I'm kind of scarred. Kate is really into poop. It's weird. She talked about it a lot. A lot of things went back to bowel movements. I have no idea why. I didn't see completely nude kids, but lots of private, private stuff. Can you imagine Leah's first boyfriend reminding her he saw her poop all over her crib and herself on DVD? They just went too far.

Everything going on is so sad for the kids. They hardly stand a chance if this circus continues. The twins are 9 1/2. They know what is going on. They heard Kate and Tony on DWTS this week. This family is such an anomoly in the media world. New ground has been broken with voyeurism. Nothing is sacred. And it went on for years...

I guess I'm not following.

One gets paid to do a show. There is no denying that.

Anyone who ever believed for one minute that they did not make a dime and then get shocked to find out they made lots of money--that's on them.

But--when someone is questioning the welfare of the child--whether laws are being broken--whether the children are being damaged....

But then stay silent for YEARS and then only expose them months after the show has ended....

What does that say about them? The kids were not worthy enough to protect as it is going on, but I'll make myself look good and say I was always concerned for them.

Having suffered real abuse when I was little--it doesn't fly. If you think someone is so harmed that you become willing to form a movement to get it stopped...your inaction while the bad was occuring, tells me you didn't give a nickel of what was going on when the damage was being done.

We all know Kate was selfish. Neither she, nor Jon, nor TLC felt they were doing anything bad to the kids. And for many years--neither did Kevin or Jodi. Hence the hypocrisy with training. Did they tell TLC, "I'm sorry--let's not film this right now until they are finished and then you can record them playing a game over there". No--they didn't. Not at all! So to now say they felt it abusive and invading of their privacy after they actively participated in that?

Rubbish.

They can do all they want now for future kids--and then be hailed as heroes. But they would have been more of a hero if they spoke up sooner....like while they were still on the show.

Their story doesn't match up with their actions which is why they were hypocrites.

Jon and Kate in this regard cannot be called hypocrites--b/c they didn't feel that they ever were harming their children and they don't feel that even after the fact.

It is all just too coincidental that Kevin and Jodi cared after they were off the show.

Too little too late and you don't need to be called to testify to report an injustice. They coudl have called ANY time throughout the years and they never did.

Even when they came clean--they did so for money 2 years later.

But not ONE call to authorities.

Yes, the true way to stop abuse (if it exists) is to get paid by a tabloid to tell what you "witnessed". Never mind calling authorities. That isn't profitable for gossip.

For abused kids everywhere--that is a disgusting way to "protect" children and they need to go sit in the naughty chair.

I know, what is up with all the pee and poop and potties, DISGUSTING. Telling the kids to go pee in the potty in the garage, or having potties in the van and Jon saying that the pee would splash out and he has to wash the inside of the van before going to Disney because it smelled like pee. I can't believe that germaphobe Kate would allow that to happen, but then again, I don't believe that she is as clean as she would like us to believe. My mother would have died before she did my hair in the kitchen, I see Kate3 all the time brushing the girls hair in the kitchen, that is disturbing, hair flies, I don't any hair in my food. And I know others may disagree, but watching Jodi with the kids was way better than watching Kate, even if they were in it for the money (I personally don't believe that they were), She was way nicer and better with the kids than Kate was. And I am what I consider a mean mom, but Kate just took that cake on being mean. Sometimes when I am on a rant I ask my kids if I sound like Kate, they laugh and tell me that I am no where close to her.

Well IMHO, they aren't getting anywhere near the bad press that Kate and JOn have gotten, so I don't think that you can compare. Kate is pretty much blasted all of the time, but I don't see that much with Kevin and Jodi. You seem to really have some hatred for Kevin and Jodi, I have the same hatred for Jon and Kate. I think kate is a total(sounds like witch) and it doesn't have a thing to do with her being on DWTS or even writing a book, it is her attitude, she it rotten to the core.

Julie hasn't been heard from in almost 6 months ... well, her blog hasn't been updated in that long. Although I won't be surprised to see that changed soon.

I've always been fascinated by the lack of commentary from those connected to Jon & Kate. Kevin & Jodi, Kate's friend Jamie, and some random people connected to Jon, and that's it. Kate's friend Carla had a blog that mentioned Kate from time to time, but I lost track of that months ago.

Are ya kidding me LOL? You didn't see the bad press when they interviewed for money? That's one of the few times that even some of those that didn't like Kate thought it was too little too late if true, and found it hard to believe since they didn't come out until they got paid. If Jodi and her sil were close at all (and I believe they were, since she got her info from someone) and Jodi really loved those kids, she would have stopped feeding info to this gal. That is one sick site. I haven't been there in months, but I've still read snippets of what is on there. Won't that site make the kids feel good about their family when they start to do research for their books.

The public hates Kate and Kevin and Jodi....only affirm that choice.

To me--if one truly believes a child is being harmed in anyway, the correct course of action is to not "play along" for years.

I can dislike some of Kate and Jon's choices while recognizing their right to make those choices.
