Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread--Part 7

I wonder if Kate is ever nice to anyone. If she ever does anything good. But wait, if they reported anything nice, would it be believed, or would people just say it was for PR (like I've said about Jon LOL). Oh, and if that magazine article had been nice, would we quote it? For instance the Good Housekeeping article was a pretty nice one. Do we discuss it here? Nope..why? it's not very interesting. We want to hate her (not you or me per se..the public). It's more interesting to talk about.

I don't think she is. I think reporting nice things, hearing from someone who loves her would be great. I love hearing stories of good things celebrities do. Especially after the fact, with no photo ops, from someone other than the do-gooder or their people! I started out very much pulling for her and for Jon. I love multiples and followed them from before the kids were born. Their website with all of their requesting was a bit of a turn off. I wanted them to be interesting, deep, meaningful, good, insightful parents...but they're not. They are both self centered, contrived, manipulators with little to no depth. People like Kate who talk constantly about their faith, and post bible verses throughout their televised home instead of living like one with faith confuse me. She treats people badly. Family, friends, even strangers. I will never forget how she mocked and made fun of the person working at their day out with Thomas. How humiliated this conductor must have been when he told family and friends he was going to be on J&K+8 and that is what they tuned in for. She quoted the dog breeder with,"blah, blah, blah." She gave the private swim lesson teachers signed photgraphs as a thank you gift. It is psychotic. She uses people for her gain, then eliminates them from her (and her kids') lives. One can say, "we don't know," but it is clear without proof. She has nobody. Nobody speaks up for her just because they love her. It is a fame induced tragedy.

I think (JMHO) this is why a lot of people in the beginning fell in love with the show. Like I commented earlier, I would love to watch a show of how she got all 8 ready to go trick or treating! I have a hard time with two and would love to see how she does it with 8 (with Jodi and Beth and the kids all helping - that's the picture I have in my head!). Of course I've seen the articles that both J&K were gone for Halloween (at least I think that's what I read this morning) so maybe that's not even something they worried about...who knows. But it would have been a great show....ah the "good ol' days".

Can you even imagine 8 kids under 10 on Halloween with no parent to get them dressed or take them Trick or Treating? or take them to a party at church, or to send treat bags to school, or to decorate cookies, or to carve the pumpkin? Instead of being good show fodder, how about being a family?

I think like Santa Claus, Kate at one point said they "don't do Halloween." Do you remeber why she doesn't "do Santa?" Because she doesn't want someone else getting credit for the gifts she bought. Not making it up. She said it on the show. Many valid, personal reasons some families choose not to use Santa Claus as part of their Christmas celebration don't get me wrong. This is just completely about her.

Kate Gosselin Busted for Speeding

Kate Gosselin was speeding in her SUV with the kids on board last Thursday, according to a Pennsylvania trooper who spoke with TMZ.

We're told she was going 15 miles over the posted speed limit ... we're told she was going about 70 MPH.

Gosselin was cited and already paid the $109.50 fine.

not me, I know it will be too sickening...plus I might break a perfectly good TV. I prefer, to not be exposed directly to the insanity, and the advertisements from companies that would pay money to keep this filth on TV. I'm not saying that I am not interested to what happens to these people in the long run and what lies Kate might have to say, or how it is all spun, (becaue obviously, I am interested) but I rather tune in here and get the filtered version...reading what the hot spots were, and then watching those clips off youtube or something. I just can't stomach it all in one viewing.

Even when good things were shown, she was mocked on this board. It's as if people want to think the worse, and even though we only see a glimpse of her life, there can be no good in this person. She actually has no obigation to do things just to prove she's a nice person. It's assumed she doesn't spend quality time with her kids, that she has no friends, that she demands things in the green room out of the ordinary, but yet none of us know her. Even when she is out pushing herself (something many here wanted), she's in trouble for not being home with her children..the children she only has part time custody of.

The public has no idea what Kate is doing (if she is doing anything good), unless TLC decides it should be shown.

By the way, I should have put it better. I actually meant, by good, that we would not read in a mag if Kate was kind to a storekeeper, nice at a speech, etc. That doesn't make the news. Yet, if she doesn't talk to someone or give an autograph, that makes national news. It's not interesting to most, if she is nice.

I doubt you'll see anyone stick up for her anytime soon. Her church has asked that no comments be made by anyone, her children's school have asked the same, and her family and friends don't want to be chased and called.

i wonder if kate (and tlc and whomever else is in her corner) did'nt take a page from debbie reynolds and her p.r. machine in handling this whole situation.

when eddie fisher hooked up with elizabeth taylor the whole world was treated to debbie reynolds being portrayed as the poor, betrayed wife-left at home to support the children while eddie and liz lived a wild life. eddie fisher was drug through the mud to the extent it pretty much ruined his career.

decades later it was revealed that fisher and reynolds had been living a sham marriage for a LONG time, and that it was only by virtue of an unplanned additional child AND pressure (including financial) from their studios that wanted to continue cashing in on their 'perfect all american couple/family' schtick that they had carried on the charade as long as they did. both had outside the marriage relationships but when fisher's with liz taylor could'nt escape the media finding out the studios decided to cut their losses and salvage what they could-so they opted to go with debbie reynolds and make her look the absolute innocent party.

now eddie fisher was no winner, and jon's got his issues-but i don't think it would be far fetched at all to believe it is as jon has said from day one, that the marriage was essentialy over but kate and tlc wanted to continue marketing it and the family so it continued for a period of time-jon might have even agreed to it, but when he got caught bar hopping and hanging out with women other than his wife tlc decided to try and salvage the franchise by bolstering kate's image and completly trashing jon's (though he does help them quite a bit). the timing of the divorce, the people article (obviously done ahead of kate's supposed decision to file but held for release), the softening of kate's image and more episodes that flatter her in the 'mother/protector' role-it's just too scripted.

I don't see it. She lives her life in public just like the rest of us. She has sorority sisters, real sisters, former co-workers, neighbors, cousins, hairdressers, car repair people, vets, doctors, etc. TLC doesn't control anything but the show. We see and hear about her much more than that. Why would the church not say nice things about her? I read on another sight they never joined the church, and haven't attended since 2007, not that it matters. lol If it was my sister or daughter being "unjustly bashed" you can bet there would be no need for chasing and calling. I'd be finding my own sources to make a statement!

The good that Kate has done has only been shown on Jon & Kate Plus 8... which you address later in your comments. She was mocked because most people on this board know that the show is edited, which makes it more suspicious as to the motives behind it. TLC turned the St. Jude episode into an ad for Kmart and that movie. But because it had the Gosselins attached, they get the brunt of the criticism. So, in that instance, it may be unfair to heap all the mockery on Jon & Kate. They were just doing what TLC wanted them to do for the show.

I can't speak to the green room demands. I've never really got that for ANY person that's well-known. What makes a person so special that they can demand what they will or won't eat?

Is there good in Kate Gosselin? Yes. I've been told there is. I've also been told she's gotten pretty far from the person she once was. It's always been said she's in a no-win situation. And it's true. But some of what's gone wrong in Kate's life, she's brought on herself ...in spite of being advised otherwise.

They couldn't have been living in a shame marriage for too long. They were only married for a few years. She had 2 very young children, and it seemed that Elizibeth Taylor helped his career more than hurt it. People came out to see him, in hopes ET would be with him.
ET and Debbie Reynolds had been best friends at the time. ET was widowed and sought comfort with her friends husband.
I do have some of the older movie mags, and ET was not thought well of at all at the time..nor was Eddie Fisher.
It's one of the few things ET has said she was sorry about...and that marriage was also short and Eddie Fisher then married Connie Stevens (who I always mix up with Debbie Reynolds).

The church has chosen to make no comments, about anything to do with one of their members. Most churches would do the same. They may chose to give her (and Jon) support in other ways.

What I find interesting about the paps, is they don't seem to be following their every move. If they did, we would know where Kate is, when she's not with the kids, and we would have a lot more pictures than we do. So either they aren't following her as much as we thought, or if she's not doing anything that could be considered interesting (or that can be twisted). Heck, even if they showed her putting stuff in the goodwill bin right now, people would say, sure, she's prob giving them junk so she doesn't have to pay the trash men. Maybe she's sneaking out the stuff in other people's trunks, so it doesn't show up on eBay (outgrown toys, clothes)

I always thought they only paid for 'dirt'. If Jodi and Kevin were still friends with Kate, I doubt we would have read much of what they had to say. If Jon's brother called a rag mag and said I have some stuff about Jon to tell you..who he's really dating, I bet he could/would get money for that. Call the same rag and say, my brother is a nice guy? Not so much IMO
