I was so hoping the judge would have placed a gag order on them both. :thumbsup2

wouldn't that have been lovely?

they BOTH need to stay out of the media, let things settle down ... get the divorce finalized and then move on with their lives.

except that won't work for them since they're both so media hungry....

She just did a skit on Jay. It wasn't an interview.

Okay, thank you.

I saw the skit but wouldn't classify that as "talking" since it had nothing to do with Jon or the situation.

except that won't work for them since they're both so media hungry....

Right you are. That is why I found some humor in Kate not getting much attention at the conference. Also the radio station that told Jon to pack sand when he told them his fee would be $12,000 per hour to appear.
They both need some reality to chew on.

Part of me is wondering why this guy's not on TLC anymore? I never really watched his show on TLC but clearly he likes being in the public eye and wants to bring some attention to something. If he didn't, why would he publicize Jon being there and all this "help" he's giving him? Why not just do it quickly and leave us all scratching our heads as to how it happened??? This will be the third time that he's talked with Jon and honestly, I haven't seen a drastic change in him other than the lack of fence interviews lately (which isn't a bad thing!). I understand these changes don't take place over night and all but part of me's just screaming that this rabi guy is either trying to get back at TLC for him not being on their network anymore (not sure how that panned out - who ended that deal or whatever) or what he's trying to bring attention to by blabbing about when and where Jon will be and making sure the world knows!

I did watch the Rabbi's show, Shalom in the Home -- loved it actually. He left the show, but sorry, I can't remember why. His show and a bio of him are still on TLC's website.

IMO, Jon is his pet project right now -- the guy is obviously disoriented and searching for direction right now, and if Jon is being honest -- feeling like he has screwed up a lot and looking for redemption, which makes him a prime candidate for re-education.

As for what's in it for the Rabbi -- he did a book on MJ, and it went into many of the same issues that he is likely going to talk about with Jon -- Rabbi Shmuley tends to approach topics like a crusade. He's into this one right now, so he's going to attack it from all angles. Pretty much the same as when he was on the "there are no bad kids" jag.

Not really.

Jon spent months talking to the paps that were following him. Also going to the fence of his property to give comment. Jon was on The Insider and ET every night for almost 2 weeks after doing his LKL appearance. Now he gives paps the interviews on the property, close to the house.

When was Kate on Jay Leno? Guess I missed that one.

I was so hoping the judge would have placed a gag order on them both. :thumbsup2

There were People magazine interviews (a lot), and she is still on the show, now just her for an hour talking and next week being interviewed.

She is out there in the public a lot more than Jon.

All a matter of one's perspective, I suppose. ;)

Personally, I am starting to feel like I've had my fill of both of them. I no longer care about what they have to say about anything. Don't find the Gosselin topic enjoyable as I used to, but do enjoy all of you on the thread.

Maybe this does requires a 12 step program....

legends in their own minds, that's what they are... it will be interesting to see where they are a year from now.

although a year ago, I didn't think they'd still be around now. :rotfl:

Great! They can do this every week (I think they are LOL). Just put Kate on by herself to talk to the cameras. Everybody's happy. I wish her the best on the Kate Show/All About Kate/All Kate All The Time/Kate+Kate. :)

Or substitute "Jon" for all the "Kate's" (equal opportunity, you know ;)) and that would be fine.. NO KIDS WORKING.. :thumbsup2

They could actually support their children themselves - rather than the other way around.. What a refreshing concept! :goodvibes I wish them both well in whatever careers they choose - as long as they are the ones doing the work and it's not about filming the kids..

According to the licensepa website, it was renewed 10/26/09. The state is not requiring continuing ed hours for licenses that are renewed this year but will start with those that expire in 2010. IMHO, that's a little scary. All you have to do is fill out a piece of paper, pay the fee and you have your licenses renewed. It sounds like for some, it could be years ago that they last attended class. :scared1:
In NY, while you can renew your license (and you can have it on inactive if you wish) in order to actually get hired, you have to complete your updates. Not to renew it, but to get someone to hire you. My daughter is an RN as is her spouse. He's not working as a nurse, but he keeps his license up to date, because you never know what the future will bring.

This could be very interesting -- IMO, Rabbi Shmuley has been kind to Jon but definitely not easy on him (does that make sense? maybe I should say that he criticizes Jon in a nice way). If it's anything like that video of him talking to Jon at the synagogue or his article about Jon pulling the kids off the show, it will be more straight up than any interview either of them have done, but without the venom of Nancy Grace (who had some good points, but IMO she doesn't let the people she's "questioning" get a word in sometimes and it's too much like a prosecutor pouncing on a witness, so those interviews are not usually very revealing)

ITA...but I can't tell you how skeptical I am about Jon's motives...I would embrace the Rabbi's recent assessment of Jon's efforts to clean up his act if he (Jon) didn't have his girlfriend spilling her guts on TV with Starr and Kathy in the meantime...right now, I think that Jon's actions just speak a lot louder than his words...maybe in time, he can "grow into" his words...but for right now he is a pitiful example of a loving, caring father....

Woah..I so missed that. This rabbi is an ex TLC star? What did he do on TLC? I find that very interesting.

I don't understand the talking to Jon in public part. Why not just talk to him in private, and if it 'takes', we should see the difference without it being pointed out by his rabbi..

It is important to differentiate--that I think Kate's appearances seem to be uncompensated based on the venues she is choosing while the lawsuit over Jon is that he contracted with other venues and agreed to speak for compensation.

There is a big difference in what the two are doing.

.

I'm sure that Kate was compensated for her days on The View, the skit on Jay Leno, Ellen as well as all of the speaking engagements and book signings that she does.

The only ones that she probably was not paid for would be LKL and the Today show.

Is there a legal requirement necessary for a gag order?

I.e.--there has to be a compelling reason to silence all parties to protect the integrity of the case in order to essentially remove their first amendment constituational rights?

IOW--I don't think a judge could just willy nilly issue gag orders.

I could be mistaken though--otherwise we would see a lot more of them

In fact on the Casey Anthony case--a surprising twist many many months ago....

Prosecution sought a gag order and the defense (in their infinitie wisdom ) argued against a gag order. The judge denied prosecution's request. Then it seems everywhere you turn defense complains every time prosecution releases something in accordance with the Sunshine Laws of this state. It's like--hello dummies, they handed you a gag order on a silver platter and had the audacity to reject it and argue against it. Can't go complaining when everything they are doing is in compliance with the law.

And if any case deserveda gag order (legally speaking)--it's that one!

I never saw his show--but yes, he had one. I believe he went into homes that were troubled and riddled with issues that made for a very unhappy home life (marriage and/or kids)--and essentially counseled them through it.

So he isn't doing anything out of character.

I do find it odd though that he is doing anything at all and I wonder who reached out to whom and what the motivation is behind this match up.

Like I wonder--are there cameras involved and we'll get a "Jon's Side with Reverend Schmuli" show?

Who can't spell one of his child's name (that we know of).

Happy Birthday....Maddy?

(and thanks to ET--he got a good look at the cake and did NOT say a word. My dd's name doesn't have any double-letters but will often get spelled with them --but never on cakes, thus far. But I am always quick to have it corrected and I will usually--when it is of paramount importance like something is getting created with her name...I will add a note that says "only ONE "n" So that they are clear and pay extra attention.)

Okay--that is getting nitpicky.

But we never trust Kate's words when her actions don't match. I am unclear as to why Jon's words are given so much credibility over his actions when they don't match.

When Kate begins getting impersonated in a drag show, she will be a legend like Mommy Dearest. :rotfl:

(Had to throw it in and I had the "pleasure" :scared1: of attending a show in Key West--won't go again though--oh boy are they crass . It was with my entire family--my mom, her husbands, siblings, aunts--a crazy crowd. One diva did Joan Crawford. It was hysterical and complete with movie quotes--and yes, we were ALL going crazy that evening. Especially on the "No more Wire hangers".:lmao:)

But until then--Katie Dearest will not be a legend.:dance3:

As for Jon--I haven't quite figured out what his talent is, yet. "Legend" does not come to mind.

Jon didn't decorate the cake or even order it so it's unfair to hold him responsible for the misspelling.

Maybe they can foster parent Balloon Boy for added entertainment.

That might not be wise.

Balloon Boy may accidentally hide in the fuselage of the water rocket that was assembled without following the directions.

We wouldn't want to waste resources chasing the water rocket all over the yard while balloon boy hides in the attic.

He SHOULD have noticed. You always look at at cake (as he did) before taking it to make sure it meets your satisfaction.

I guess he was too busy orchestrating the filming of his girls in his car in his head after banning TLC from filming them to notice such a simple error that the rest of the world noticed thanks the ET crew he hired.
