Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 6

Call him the new "King of Clubs": On his last night in Las Vegas, where he had played host to a weekend pool party, Jon Gosselin decided to hit up not one, but two nightclubs.

After dinner at Mirage's Stack Monday night, the tabloid target and his crew headed to Jet Nightclub at Midnight, where he spent most of the evening chain-smoking and texting.

Drinking Skyy Vodka, Gosselin largely ignored several women vying for his attention – instead focusing on his friends and his phone. He did take his eyes off his mobile for a moment, however, to dance on the sofa when DJ Class's "I'm The Ish" came on.

At 1 a.m., Gosselin headed to XS Nightclub. Sitting at a table near the dance floor, Gosselin again stuck to texting, paying little if no attention to the women dancing just a few feet from him.

Switching to Grey Goose vodka, the father of eight went mostly unrecognized while wearing a collared shirt and jeans before leaving the club at 3 a.m.

Gosselin was expected to leave Vegas Tuesday morning.

I noticed that, but thought, surely Jon doesn't mean it the way it sounded.

I loved Kate's talking at the end. She had such a good time with the kids. Hopefully this stuff is what they will remember about the show. Time away with mom at a wonderful ranch, with so much new stuff to learn and do (like eat chicken feet..yuck). We've gone to a local dude ranch up near Lake George for years with our entire family. They learned to ski there (in the winter) and swim in the indoor pool. Just a fun enitre family time. Our entire family has some wonderful memories of time away with each other on fun vacations (and some of those were just camping vacations).

One thing that really struck me about last night's episode was the difference in the attitudes between Jon and Kate.

At one point, Jon said something like "I live in New York now. It's so nice to go back there and be alone. It's always so busy here I like to leave."

And at the end of the show, Kate was talking about the boys and saying "They're a great bunch of boys. I'm honored to be their mom."

Talk about two totally different people!

"Hailey's" Match.com video:

Jon Gosselin's wandering eye may have been too much to handle for his 22-year-old girlfriend.

While the octodad was busy exchanging numbers with bikini-clad women in Las Vegas, a faux Hailey Glassman posted a Match.com video on Funnyordie.com.

Going by the username HaileyNeedsDatePlus8, Glassman lists specific traits she wants in a new man.

"I'm looking for someone who's half-Asian, kinda chubs, with hair plugs," she said. "Someone who likes Ed Hardy thongs, chain smoking Virginia Slims and white chicks who wear their trucker hats to the side.

"You know, like a gangsta."

The fake party girl also took the time to talk about her qualities that Gosselin must have found appealing.

"About me? I like to pah-tay. Just like, get wasted, take cute camera pics with guns," she explained, as well as boasting that she "can burped the alphabet.

"I don't know, everyone says I would be a great stepmother to eight kids," she said just before reenacting Glassman's infamous fall into a potted plant.

In semi - related news:

TLC's "17 kids and counting" has already changed to "18" and will soon be changing to "19" because the Duggars? Are pregnant.

Not a shock to many who watch the show, but alarming to some who cannot fathom the idea of having 19 children. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar tell Today's Meredith Viera that they are "thrilled" by the news.

Michelle, 42, and Jim Bob, 44, have been married for 25 years (and yes, they renewed their vows much like the Gosselin's). All 18 children have names beginning with the letter "J" and range in age from 21 to 8 months. Their eldest son and his wife are expecting their first baby next month - making Jim Bob and Michelle grandparents for the first time. Their grandchild and their own child will be about 5 months apart.

I don't know how they classify "magazines" but it doesn't look like J&K are helping anyone sell them any quicker:

SO far in 2009, the magazine business looks a lot like the Jon and Kate Gosselin divorce splayed all over the supermarket tabloids: you have to look very hard to find a winner.

With already-dismal ad figures for the first half of 2009, magazine publishers turned in their circulation figures on Monday, showing that newsstand sales plummeted 12.4 percent in the first half of this year. Newsstand sales are thought to be a bellwether for the economy, or at least for how willing consumers are to fork over $5 for an impulse purchase.

The good news was that paid subscriptions actually increased a bit, meaning that over all, circulation fell 1.2 percent, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations report. Newsstand sales were down for all but one of Hearst’s magazines, although only three were down 20 percent or more: SmartMoney (down 35.1 percent), Redbook (down 23.5 percent) and Town & Country (down 20 percent). The Hearst figures exclude Food Network Magazine, which was not measured because it is a new publication.

Ironic! I have a DIS friend at AK today! :upsidedow They were Epcot last night and said it was way too hot for them. LOL It's "normal" for us right now so it shouldn't be too bad next week.

yes. it is hot ... they did say that!

that's my concern of the week, LOL .. we're usually used to the heat in October, because it's still summer-like here through September. This year has been so strange, weather-wise that it's been really cool. We were in the 50's this morning. That Florida heat might kick us in the behind this year!

I noticed that, but thought, surely Jon doesn't mean it the way it sounded.

Or, as it has been mentioned here before, it may be the way TLC edited the show. Maybe Jon had talked about how he loves spending time with the kids and how he hates being away from them but that sometimes it's nice in NY where it's quieter. It's easy to speculate. Personally, I think he meant it just the way he said it, just as I believe the wooden spoon was not in the car because Kate was taking a salad somewhere.

I'm not going to make excuses for either one of them at this point. I honestly believe if anyone of us went up to Kate at Disneyworld that we would get the cold shoulder. I wouldn't expect her to be friendly to me as we are virtual strangers. But, on the other hand, I bet if I went up to anyone who posts on this thread and said hi to them at Disneyworld and introduced myself, I am quite sure that they would be cordial.

I would much rather be harsh in my judgment toward the stranger known as Kate than harsh toward the strangers who post on this board. I enjoy all of your posts whether I agree with you or not. Both sides have excellent points and the thread wouldn't be the same without a little disagreement. I do hope if we ever meet in real life that we can meet as friends.

I didn't think the spoon was a secret. I thought it was shown in one of the shows. I thought it was in the car as a threat. Not saying I agree with it and we don't believe in any spanking in my house, but I know a lot of people do, and others have said they use a plastic spoon. I don't know how many threads I'd have to go back to , but I think it was this board that we talked about it here before (and whatever board it was, it of coure, turned into a spanking vs non spanking debate LOL).

I speak to anyone who noticed my dis pin, but there have been reports that some people have gone up to people wearing identifying Dis stuff and found a chill in the air. I don't get it, if you don't want to be noticed, why wear something that ID's you from the Dis?

This wasn't the first time that it has either been edited or shown in actuality where Jon has mentioned how quiet his 'other' home is.

Or, as it has been mentioned here before, it may be the way TLC edited the show. The bolded part above made me laugh! Ya, Kate was going to a picnic, sure that's it!

I recently was wondering too what Kate would be like if I saw her somewhere and said hello. It would be really poor form for her to ignore fans, if you ask me. Why bite the hand that feeds you, you know? Maybe if I see her in Disney in October, I'll offer her and the kids some vanilla soft serve ice-cream!:lmao:

Personally, I love this thread. It is highly addicting and extremely enjoyable!:thumbsup2 My DH is completely baffled why I like it so much and my answer to him was, do I question why you play that stupid video game at night?? I know it can get heated at times but I do enjoy it. I think we all try to act cordially (well most of the time;)) and respect each other's thoughts. My only fear is that the show will end and then what will we all talk about?

If they didn't mention the paps in the show, then people would say "why do they not mention the paps, why do they pretend like this isn't happening in their lives blah blah blah I hate Kate blah blah blah"

:thumbsup2

What do you mean, walking on stuff?

We usually go in the colder months, but we're going with my daughter and her family and the kids are too old to miss school so and not have unhappy teachers so , yikes, it's hot September we're going this year.

walking on = no lines for anything! it's a good thing! :cool1:

No More Bikini Girls & Pool Parties! Jon Gosselin Goes Shopping With Mom In VegasNo More Bikini Girls & Pool Parties! Jon Gosselin Goes Shopping With Mom In VegasPosted on Sep 01, 2009 @ 09:14AM

After a weekend of Las Vegas decadence, complete with bikini girls and pool parties, Jon Gosselin Monday looked to the one rock, in his constantly-taped- for-broadcast life, for support: His mother, Pam.

Jon and his Mom in Vegas: See More Photos

The 32-year-old reality TV dad, sporting a slight sunburn in his casual attire, took his mother shopping, as well as to the The Magic Marketplace Trade Show in Sin City.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 airs Mondays at 9/8c on TLC.

I'm curious, why was Jon's mom never on the show? Does she live far away from them? I find it weird that she was never on the show but I saw pictures of her twice this week.

Jon Gosselin knows at least one way to keep a woman happy: jewelry! Wedding bells may still be a ways off, but the father of eight recently took a break from chatting up some bikini beauties at his Las Vegas pool party to go ring-shopping.

Read more about his weekend trip here

"He particularly liked one sparkly diamond band and even put it on his pinky ring to look at it," an insider at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino jewelry store told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "While Jon looked at a necklace in the jewelry store, he seemed most interested in the engagement rings."

But don't start mapping out the table seating yet. Gosselin has gotten engagement-like wares before. During their French vacation, he custom-designed an impressive ring of diamonds and precious stones.

"The store calls the ring 'Heart of Fire.' It has .98 carats of diamonds and is white gold with two rows of stones," said the insider of the new purchase. "The ring is usually given as a gift...Hailey will be very impressed."

I got a text this morning from a friend at the AK today .. they've been walking on stuff all day!

it will be more crowded than that in early October, but still not bad at all!

We were too. We did not do the AK....we did 2 days at MK we only had 4 days. My DGD is going to be shocked if we go back & she has to wait for a ride. We used the fast pass & went early. It did not rain on us at all which is weird for summer.

Loved the show last night! It was enjoyable watching Kate try new things and bond with her sons, and weren't they the most handsome little cowboy's?
I also found it endearing to watch Jon play dress up with the girls, very sweet. They both seem more relaxed and able to enjoy the kids. :thumbsup2

Loved it when Aaden commented that "we can do whatever we want with mommy gone". And when Collin spoke of "enjoying everything without the girls". Joel talking about the chicken feet being disgusting. Alexis looking like a rock star. All 8 of those kids are so precious.

I didn't see any photos of them going off to school today on Radaronline. Hopefully, the paps have moved on from that.

I agree, I thought it was sweet of Jon to dress up for the girls. The pregnant belly thing he was doing made me laugh too! I was kind of hoping to hear Mady sing because they always mention that she sings well, I wonder why TLC didn't really show much of her singing?

I also agree with the other pp, if future episodes are like this one, I don't see the show going anywhere. It was a sweet and fun episode. The boys were so adorable in their cowboy outfits! I understand now what Kate meant with how the divorce is needed to have peace. Not only is Kate more relaxed now, Jon is too. It's like all the stress and frustration they felt is gone and they can just enjoy being with the kids now.

In regards to Kate mentioning the paps, I think I heard one of the producers ask her if it was nice without the paps.. that happened at the end of her outside horse backriding when she was enjoying the view. I think she mentions it so much because it frustrates her a lot and its a big problem for her family. I know for me, when I have a problem, I tend to talk and think about it constantly. Maybe she's like that too?

I'm really enjoying seeing Kate push out of her comfort zone and trying new things. Remember how quickly she said no to getting on a horse when Jon & Kate took Hannah? Kate trying to not freak out so the kids can try things is great too. I think she's growing in a positive way!

See you there! We leave tomorrow. :)

Hope we get to walk on stuff, too!

Well, you're so lucky you just went!:goodvibes I have 54 more days to go and the days are going s-l-o-w! Was it terribly hot? We're thinking of doing the end of August next year and I'm curious. :goodvibes

It was in the low 90's during the day and high 70's at night. We were lucky that we only had rain one afternoon and then it seemed like the rain happened around 9 or 10 at night. I just love it down there. We also went to Universal for 2 days. It was more crowded then I thought it would be, but we usually go around now and we ended up going on the 14th instead. I'm sure the crowds are way down because the FL kids are back in school. Enjoy the days before you go because as soon as you get there time races!

I agree totally about the editing. It can really change the meaning of the moment. I think TLC is trying to introduce a "new Kate" a much more friendly, easy going, not as controlling, mother of 8 kids. I think she is very comfortable with the camera and filming but she still comes across as unfriendly at times.
I like this board too! I don't even watch the show anymore and this board is so informative. It would be so boring if everyone thought the same way.
