Wow, can there possibly be one person who watched tonight, that didn't love this episode (100 % paparazzi free!)?
This is a much nicer Kate than in the past. The boys (who ate chicke feet, and Kate didn't even pass out) were so darn cute. I loved it, it was truly about the kids. I even like Jon dressing up with the girls (so that's why he was wearing Kate's hat LOL!). This was just great.
I'm sure those that were looking for 'dirt' on the couple wouldn't have liked it, but for those who wanted to see the kids having a wonderful time, and the love between Kate and the boys...this was the episode for that.

The episode that aired tonight was precious...if this is the new direction for the show, I think that they are in for a long and successful run....the kids seemed to be genuinely having fun...

That was before my time on this thread -- anybody care to give me a summary of what "we" thought about the article?

Maybe it's for protection? Or she's going to a party and serving a salad.

While it's not my business if you want to hit or threaten your kids with a spoon, I do wonder just how bad are these kids? So bad that you have to take your spanking object with you in the car? I guess I'm pretty lucky. I have never had the need. (I have 3 kids)

Should be some interesting reasons coming up to explain this.

It was so sad when Kate said she hoped that she and Jon could spend holidays together for the sake of filming episodes; she didn't mention the kids...

I missed that -- good catch.

I cannot envision any scenario where Kate Gosselin would do well on a talk show. I just can't.

Neither can I. But I have to say the thought of her doing the roundtable on The View scares me. JMHO, but I don't think this is going to work out very well. I am so not a fan of Latoya Jackson, but I think she'll do better on this part of the show.

I didn't see the show. Sounds like the 2 parents are better with their kids when they're apart.

And I remember the posts about Jon in the hat -- some of them were nasty. And like I said at the time, my DD loves to do this to her dad -- and then he lets her take a picture.

I asked earlier .. will the tabloids and paps be pointed out in every episode? for someone who hates them so much .. Kate loves to mention them every week. Why keep pointing it out?

I wasn't looking for dirt, I wasn't even intending to watch But I did, and thought it was ok. I've certainly had stronger opinions about other episodes. LOLOL

I just got the impression that she was relieved, and happy that they didn't find out she was there, and that because they weren't it made for a better vacation. IMO, I didn't thing it was much of anything. The fact that they weren't there was great for the kids..no worries about who to smile at.

No kidding! I've never even heard LaToya Jackson speak? She does speak, right?

I used to think LaToya was almost as strange at Michael, but I've seen her on a couple Entertainment shows lately and she seemed very normal...it was surprising. She seems to have shed her alot of her weirdness.

dmrick- I have heard Rachel Ray is pleasant and gracious. Good to hear a first hand account. Probably why she remains popular, non controversial and not over exposed. I thought the food network suited her better than a talk show.

I met her several years ago at a book signing. She was so nice, especially to my kids. She asked them if she could have her picture taken with them! LOL! I thought that was so sweet.

When we've gone to her cooking demo's she has always been sweet and very patient with our stupid questions. She really is just like she shows.
That was very nice of her to ask your kids if she could have her pic taken with them!

I enjoyed the show. I've noticed that Kate seems to be more relaxed with her kids, now, not freaking out over the 'little things'. That could be the maturing mother.....spoken as one mother who also freaked out at WDW on our first trip We got stuck by the parade by DH, when I wanted to ride the rides with the kids-you know, the BEST time to ride. She really seemed to enjoy the things that the boys did, and didn't freak at the things she didn't-the chicken feet. The BOYS are not 'ICKY' anymore (although the things they like are). I also liked the clips of the boys when she wasn't there.

In agreement, there. She needs to stop dwelling on the paps.

I love Rachel Ray. The talk show, not as much and sometimes not at all, but the cooking sections are great!

One final thing. I am really impressed with Kate's lack of acknowledgment of the paps that continually ask her stupid questions as she is getting in/out of her vehicle. For goodness sakes! I'd be letting loose with some choice words, I'm afraid. Good on you, Kate!

I rewatched the show last night while packing, and I liked it even better. I have to say, I think I would watch Kate on a talk show, although I don't know how she would sustain it for any length of time. Her humor and willingness to try stuff that she never would have tried a year ago, was fun. If all that came before her, hadn't, I would say, that is a person who is just enjoying life, and her boys. To me, and IMO, she seemed very genuine and very relaxed.

That said, my stomach was turning as I yelled at the TV, and told the cats to run...run for their very lives LOL. Funny when Kate said no animals were injured in the making of this show, or something to that affect.

Anyone else laugh when the boys went egg gathering and plopped them on the wood, and we all heard, crackkkk.

The boys were just so darn cute.

I agree with you here, but I have a really hard time watching her when she's had too much botox. What is it with Hollywood people that they think that being unable to have facial expressions looks normal? Same goes for the too tight face lift.

nope. that's not what I'd say.

I'd say, we know the paps follow you. get over it. move on. I don't want to hear about it every week.

everything else about the show is altered reality, so I don't see why leaving the paps out of it is a big deal. I mean, they don't show the trips to the grocery or other parts of their real reality. why keep mentioning the tabloids? IMO, it just keeps people interested in what they (the tabloids) have to say and in turn, interested in the show. which, in the end, is what Kate wants.

that's pretty standard for the paps. I think Jon is the exception to the rule of famous people talking to them. He may be the only one that does. LOLOL

No kidding! My 3 start on Sept. 8th and our schedule is ridiculous...2 are in ballet (4 times a week) and 1 is in horseback riding (2 times a week)! That doesn't even include piano yet either. I may as well paint my car yellow.

we've been in school since August 6... between the kids' activities, church, and my involvement with the PTO, it's CRAZY. And I only have 2 at home now, my oldest is in college. LOL!
