EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Jon Gosselin Heckled At Bikini Pool PartyEXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Jon Gosselin Heckled At Bikini Pool Party
Posted on Aug 30, 2009 @ 08:35PM

Jon Gosselin hosted a party at the MGM Grand Hotel's Wet Republic pool nightclub Saturday night and RadarOnline.com has the only video from inside the bash.

Most of the 2000 party-goers were girls in barely-there bikinis but the few guys who braved the crowd had themselves a field day at Jon's expense.

They heckled the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star about his bald spot, asking him about the cost of hair plugs; his weight; his pecs, or lack of; even his clothes -- and he wasn't even wearing Ed Hardy!

Jon had his mom Pamela plus four friends with him but that didn't stop him from mixing and mingling with as many women as possible.

He had the welcome mat out at his cabana in the club's VIP section and even took phone numbers from several girls as he downed a glass of Veuve Clicquet Champagne.

Not all the women there were Jon fans however. Some came just to get out of the 115 degree Vegas heat. One woman even held up a Team Kate sign.

Ouch!

Embarassing. What is apparent when Jon does gigs like this or talks about his "ideas" is that he believes his own PR -- he thinks he's a much bigger star than he is. Heck, he was on a reality TV show, he got famous for having 8 kids -- it's not like he's ever going to win "Sexiest Man of the Year" which is reserved for actors, etc. who are often chosen for their roles and become famous because of their looks.

Maybe Kate has the same problem when it comes to her plans to have her own talkshow (which is highly unlikely IMO given that she's had ample opportunity to leave a bad impression eg. she'd never get a cooking show after she hit Emeril) They always seem to forget that they are only famous because they have a big family -- nobody would even know who they are without their kids.

Tori Spelling, Paris Hilton. Jane Fonda, Patty Duke, would they have become famous without their famous dad's? Lady Diana..who knew her? She got famous because she got engaged and married Prince Charles.
Then you look at people like Bobby Flay..he's certainly turned himself into a celebrity just because he appeared on a reality show.

Other people and reality shows have often been the reason some people are famous. Now we'll have to wait and see if either J or K have what it takes to take it further, than the mom or dad of 8 kids.

It's a jumping board, one that many celebrities have jumped off of. J & K did have the kids, People do know who they are. It's a first step for them, one they hope to expand on, like many people before them.

:lmao: There we go again!! See, I thought the little swat to Emeril was funny. I could see me doing the same thing. It wasn't like she punched him. they were clowning around a bit and she swatted him on the arm. I thought it looked like they were comfortable (or getting comfortable) in the kitchen. 2 totally different views. :rotfl:

Can you imagine what Jon would be like if he was in shape and ripped? Has a full head of hair? I think he'd be flaunting it and having even more girl surrounding him than he does now.

True, but they'd be nowhere without this first step. JMHO, I just don't see what else they have to offer. In the context of this discussion, I think Jon has burned a lot of bridges with his recent activity ie. as the previous link says, he's more of a laughing stock. Sure, he could do something behind the scenes now that he has money, but I just don't see him having much of a future in the media. Maybe if he took a few years away from the limelight for people to forget the last couple of months and to stop thinking of him as "jon and kate plus 8" -- it's been done before. Many people have completely reinvented their image this way.

But I seem to remember that the talk at the time was that Emeril was not impressed one bit by the swat. Maybe that's the more important point, regardless of how hard she hit him.

I think he should have looked like that before he did the Wet Republic thing -- I'd never venture to step foot in that place, and I'm pretty comfortable wearing a bathing suit (even a bikini) in a lot of places.

Yes, tight abs, fame and money would get him a lot of chicks.

I remember reading that people didn't like it, didn't think he liked it etc. etc. but I do not ever remember reading or seeing anything about Emeril commenting about it.
If someone knows about it and can lead me to the link, I'd like to read it.

And of course, if they weren't hitting it off and he was unhappy with her I would not think it was harmless. Just seemed harmless to me. He was joking around about her leaving Jon alone and letting him do his thing. This after Emeril making Jon do tons and tons of garlic, .

another thing to consider about the Emeril episode. It was filmed in the midst of all the marital tension. I can't imagine that was a pleasant shoot for that fact alone.

:lmao:

And I read in some magazine or catalog last night that those hats are all the rage! Well, not the one Jon wore of hers but Kate's little black one. I can't remember what they called them. A trainer cap or something... I dunno. :confused3

I took my niece to a Jonas Brothers concert Thursday night and I saw that black hat Kate wears everywhere different colors, but lots of people wearing them, little girls, tweens, older teens and their moms. I thought of Kate everytime. She's started another trend...I couldn't tell if any of them had Kate hairdos under their hats though! :rotfl:

That's true, but again, neither would many others. Few people are 'discovered' at a soda shop...I think that is a thing in the past. They usually have something that starts them out, some gimmick. K & J's gimmick, so to speak is have 8 surviving children at once, and procuring a show about the family. I also agree about Jon (I only included him for those that dislike the thought of Kate getting anywhere LOL), but I believe Kate will go further. Many talk show hosts don't really have much to offer...it's in the marketing. I happened to like Rachel Ray's cooking show, but I'm not sure, beyond Oprah liking her, why a cooking show qualified her for a talk show. Even Oprah's friend (Diane?) only got a show because she was Oprah's friend, not because she has (IMO) any talent.

I think that was us talking, not Emeril LOL. We always take stuff and beat it to a pulp on this thread :rotfl:

Yup, we do. And I had to go back and think about your earlier post re the thread becoming so hateful. I'm starting to agree with you somewhat. Case in point, Jon's pictures from Vegas -- at least one poster just assumed that he invited the paps up to his hotel room to take pictures of him and his mom (but they were most likely promotional pictures). On a related subject, when Jon announced that he was taking some friends to Vegas this summer, it was automatically assumed he was throwing away the kids money on gambling and partying with his friends (when the whole weekend was part of the guest host gig, everything payed for by the water park/hotel/casino -- likely no money came out of his pocket at all, instead he made money for doing it)

I suppose that if people "hate" Jon, then it's easy to jump to these assumptions. Same goes for believing all of the nasty tabloid stories about him, even when he denies them. Or assuming that he was nastier to Kate when the cameras were off than she was to him when the cameras were on. How could anybody know this? This kind of talk has put me in the unhappy position of having to come to Jon's defense on many occasions. Partly this is due to the fact that there are so many people on this thread who would defend Kate -- she doesn't need my help. :rotfl:

Instead, I tend to think more about what seem to be considered smaller issues, like why Kate made the public statement about why she filed for divorce -- we still don't know, why her divorce attorneys would release a statement that she was asking for full custody of the kids (couldn't that have been kept a secret, like, FOREVER -- we'd find out if/when the private divorce proceedings were completed), why Jon would make anything public about a relationship with anybody other than Kate until he was about to get remarried and had, in fact, made his kids comfortable with the idea. These are just a few examples.

JMHO, all of these things are a tangent to the issues caused by the show and TLC. A huge issue for me right now is the gag order that TLC has placed on Jon -- how is it even acceptable for them to control what any parent can say about a TV show that their kids are on? There is something very wrong about them putting Kate out there to criticize Jon in a media blitz, but telling Jon that he's not allowed to say anything. In the end, these are 2 parents in the midst of divorce, and TLC is capitalizing on the sensationalism that follows that. IMO, there is a lot of stuff out there that will come back to haunt these kids later (and a lot to give them nightmares today, including their first day of school :scared1:) that result from having a contract to do 40 shows per year rather than a few holiday specials. I don't have that much of a problem with them making money by virtue of their uniqueness of their family, but this has become a lifestyle for them and it's not healthy.

So, yes, I guess I am judgemental when it comes to them. I do find some of their decisions unforgivable, although hatred might be too strong a word. Thanks for your earlier post -- it really taught me something about myself. :goodvibes I know, long post, I'll stop rambling now. :)

I can't hear anything on the heckling video? :confused3

Nope -- there was no sound on the video and they just printed the words over top of it. Weird :confused3

BTW, I have to slightly adjust my earlier views re Jon being too pudgy to do this gig. Apparently all of the guest hosts remain fully dressed -- I noticed that Jon said "I can't" when somebody asked him to take his shirt off, so I went and took a look at Diddy's photos from his stint (and he definitely doesn't have anything that needs to be covered up)

So, we're fortunate that Jon chose to do something where we didn't have to see his stomach. But what I still can't figure out is why he wasn't wearing an Ed Hardy shirt and why Christian Audigier and his people weren't there -- I thought this was supposed to be a joint thing to promote a new line of shirts. Was this reported incorrectly in the first place, or has that deal fallen through for good now?

Sorry -- but I don't think those hats are anything new. My DD9 has 3 of them (one in brown corduroy, a pink winter one and a pink summer one) 2 of which she has had for 2 years -- and the brown corduroy one was purchased 2 years ago in a thrift store. Maybe they just weren't popular in your area before.

Gail. :)

The one I looked at you could hear the heckling but it wasn't scrolling the words on there or anything. Just sounded like a bunch of drunk people to me, lol.

I thought this was for Wet Republic. Or are the two companies related?

Oh, OK. I don't know all these name brands. I'm old and from a different era. I can't keep it all straight. lol

Actually Victoria Beckham started that trend about 3 years ago.
