There is a look in the big kids eyes that seems to be fear or dred of the paps. Like they do not know when or where they will show up. No children should have to live with this. I feel so sorry for them.

Well, not it this video in particular. More in the pictures where Kate picked the twins up from the bus in the afternoon and in some other pictures from the past. I think it freaks the kids out. It would have scared me at that age.

And before anyone says they are contractually obligated and they have to keep on doing this show, does anyone think that if Jon and Kate said they wanted to stop because of their kids well-being, that TLC would sue them? That would be a publicity nightmare for TLC. Also, I would be very surprised if there was not such an opt out provision in the contract.

If they stop the show how will they support the family? Neither parent is very hireable right now. Could you see Kate going back to nursing? And Jon has never been that great at keeping a Job.

I believe that they believe that this is not harmful to the kids, and is an oportunity for them to have a nice home, a paid for college education, and a good financial start in life, as well as more time with mom and dad, than they would have if they both worked everyday to support them. Until Mady's book come out, I'll have to hold judgement to see if they are right or wrong.

She's a real gem! "Why'd you bring your kids?" ; nice one Kate, way to connect with the common folk!

That second school bus video is nuts. Like someone said, why didn't she take her kids to school? Paparazzi couldn't have been on school grounds. Oh yeah, they want to be photgraphed and pretend to hate it and tell the kids to shoot at the photographers. But some photographers are good....? I really think both days were staged. Wasn't Steve (2nd video) talking to the woman who Kate was apologizing to the first day? Why the long dramatic walk across the parking lot? Why doesn't she say "thanks" to the photographers when they say "have a good day?" Kill them with kindness, hold your enemies closer and all that stuff? There is no chase if you don't run. She really has trouble with that one. Wasn't she recently driving 90 miles an hour down a highway or something? At the same time as the hotel/police incident. What in the world are the bodyguards for? One photographer was practically on top of Jon. Where was TLC? I can't imagine not faking it for the kids when it comes to Jon. Those kids are SO aware that Mom and Dad don't want to breathe the same air as one another. The tension is palpable even in a video! How can they possibly be okay?
Celebrities' kids go to school all over the country, and not many start their day like this.

And I can't believe that TLC wasn't there to film the kids getting on the bus. That's a BIG milestone in their lives. And yes, Steve the bodyguard did a terrible job keeping the paps away. It looked like he didn't even try to keep them at a decent distance.

I have never seen Steve block a view of Kate LOL! Must be why he's the chosen bodyguard. Was he carrying her purse perhaps? (snicker).

I bet if there had been a camera crew at that book signing, Kate would have picked up and kissed each and every one of those kids, become "best friends" with the mom, and asked for her phone number (which she would have later had her assistant toss in the trash) so that they could call and swap stories/schedule a playdate at Disney World.

Then again, she may have just been ticked off because that other mother managed to still have a nurse for her little one that was sick, and Kate couldn't pull that one off.

a few observations on the whole back to school bus situation

first and foremost the paparazzi are way to close in proximity to those children and that bus while I knw that j and k have allowed this situation to sprial to this, there needs tobe some intervention from some authorities stopping the photographers from getting this close

feel horrible for these kids such a bad situation these kids should be driven to school to avoid further abuse this is abuse of these children mental abuse!!!

jon didn't even acknowledge 'the body guard' steve donttell me something isnt going on between steve and kate jon's body language says it all!!!

Interesting article, thanks for posting! Wow, it's amazing that some families can support sextuplets without a hefty contract for a reality show! The dad in that article has a Pepperidge Farm route, for crying out loud!
On another note, I am struck again by how fortunate the Gosselins are that their sextuplets are all healthy.

I agree the kids are adorable!

It's very ironic to me that Jon and Kate have said they started the shows in part to document their kids lives...well they got what they wished for and now those kids have the most documented lives ever. Plus Kate gets to be in all the pictures/videos too, not behind the camera like most parents on the first day of school!

Interesting article. I didn't know it was possible to support 6 kids (all born at the same time) without a reality show and freebies. Learn something new every day.

Why am I not surprised by this? But does she want full custody or is she just trying to control Jon? ie. she says she'll reconsider. IMO, this could have easily been remedied by having a clause in the custody agreement re sitters, etc. So, her coming out with this makes me think this is another part of the media blitz, and (even moreso) part of the post-separation bickering that was bound to happen.

And, I just finally got to watch the bus videos -- I was away and could only see the thread. I can understand most of the comments so far (the one about Jon talking on the phone when the twins started school, not so much). I just couldn't get over Kate's attitude -- sure, she wanted to look ticked off at the paps, but even the non-Gosselins managed to smile for their kids, even Jon did a couple of times. Same thing when they dropped off the tups.

And what was with the show of talking to Jon through the car window? IMO, Kate didn't come across very well in either of these videos. I can't imagine her PR people said "after you drop off the kids, cross to your car, open and shut the door, knock on Jon's window and say "Are you going? So you're gone." and then walk back to your car in a huff" With all of the drama on these 2 days, I can't help but believe the paps were tipped off about this.

He says anyone watching Jon & Kate Plus 8 could tell they were having problems. "We move further and further apart because we're so frustrated," he says. "But you have to understand reality TV. We can get in a fight today and have to do an interview tonight."

As for his soon-to-be ex: "I have no ill will toward Kate. She's the mother of my kids. She's a great mom. She does a lot for them."

Well, I still think it's unnecessary for either of them to say anything to the press, although he really took the high road here (phew! one bitter spouse is enough)

JMHO, he says he loves Hailey but I still think she's "transitional girl". This won't last. It almost never does.

Wow, judge much? I can't get over how much you guys really intensely dislike Kate. You are sure by the body language that she is having an affair, you can tell by her child's eyes how much the paps bother her, and even though the other family has stated they have help, because it's not a reality show, you feel they are supporting their children all on their own, unlike Kate and Jon , who you give zero credit to for what sweet kids they have and how hard they have worked (J & K), you assume she doesn't want custody of her children, but just wants to control Jon, and because she talked to the father of her children in his car you assume it was all for show.

I've been on a lot of boards, and I'm on three for J & K, but this one is so intense with the dislike, I just can't believe it. I'm glad you guys haven't found anything to judge me on. There is absolutely nothing Kate could ever do that would please you.

The fun of this board has sure changed in the last month or so...especially since some who have enjoyed the show have moved on and away from this thread . It's just becoming so much about judging, and intesne dislike..and very little of the judging is ever good. What happened to just reporting on what is going on? Why so very much judging and assuming? As I've said before, I truly don't understand why some of you follow this and look at the pictures and the rag mags, etc. If I hated something as much as some hate this show and these people, I would never want to keep up with them.
