I like this guy! Seriously?! Kate can't take her own kids to see the Empire State building unless it is filmed by TLC!!! That my friends is the whole problem.

She's not a mom, she plays one on TV and now without the show and a script to follow she can't function.

A real Can -Do mom would pack up the kids and go see the sights, no cameras needed.

That disgusts me!

If it's not being filmed is it really worth it? Apparently not in Kate's eyes. Or maybe it's more of "if it's not free we're not going" or maybe both.

Jon is still supposed to be on The Insider tonight as far as the show listing on my cable. He is supposed to be on with Nancy Grace. I wonder if it was pre-taped? Wonder if the bank issues will be addressed? Anyone know if Jon is still in California?

I think it was pre-taped. They showed clips of it right after his first show I think.

Maybe she needs some time to recover from the tactics of Jon's lawyer. I don't think I would be all smiles and sunshine immediately upon facing the latest developments either. Sometimes even can-do mom's need a minute to convince themselves they can.

I would bet money that if TLC had not stopped filming then she would have went in a heartbeat. Money missing or not. Like her lawyer said, Kate loves doing the show. She could care less if anyone else enjoys it.

I agree. I wasn't just talking about needing to recover from the money issue, I was also talking about the show. If she was still able to film then that would be one less issue to have to rise above right now.

Jon Gosselin says he didn't leave estranged wife Kate high and dry by emptying cash from a shared account.

"I've never taken any money out because over ten years, Kate handled all the banking," he says on an episode of The Insider to air Monday night.

"Over the past four years of doing the show, we accrued $2,250,000. She says in the past week I took $230,000," he says. In fact, Kate said on the Today show that he'd taken the money out between Aug. 10 and Sept. 29.

"I have withdrawn roughly $177,000 over the course of a year, which is less than 10 percent of what we made. That's like my paycheck," he continues.

Jon, 32, says Kate's claims are "a total fabrication. I withdrew $22,000 last Thursday. I have the paper trail to prove it."

The dad of eight says he believes Kate is "incriminating herself and not thinking clearly. She's wanting me to look bad."

Jon says Kate should have no problem paying the bills. On the Today show Monday morning, she said she didn't have enough money to mail bills in her handbag; a few hours later, she called into The View to declare she'd take a job at McDonald's to support the kids if she had to.

Says Jon: "She's hiding money. We have 11 bank accounts. That was just our joint account. She had a best-selling book. Where's that million dollars?"

I was probably one of the biggest Kate haters before all of this nonsense started however, I have had a complete 180 regarding their situation.

A former business partner of mine went through a divorce about ten years ago and acted the same stupid way Jon is acting now. I had so much stress due to his constant shenanigans that I dissolved our partnership before his divorce was final.

"Joe", we will call him "Joe" spent his entire day trying to figure out a way he wouldn't have to pay her any alimony, how he could limit his child support payments, how to get out of helping pay for his kids education, etc. He even had himself committed to a psychiatric hospital for an "attempted" suicide so he could explain why he couldn't work and make as much as he did before. He told Judge after Judge he couldn't pay the ex the alimony due to his mental illness. All made up situations to hurt his soon to be ex and his children.

He would take large amounts of cash out of their joint accounts and say he went to the casino and spent it when in reality he was giving it to his new girlfriend so they would have $$$ once his divorce was final.

Every day, Jon Gosselin does something that reminds me of something "Joe" did in order to screw over his ex and his children. To this day, such actions make me ill.....

I think what is the most disturbing thing about Jon is that he took a bunch of money out of the bank and is directly hurting his children in ways he doesn't even understand yet. He has put a cease and desist on the show, has no job himself, has no real way of supporting his own children besides doing public appearances at clubs and bars and appears to have become a serial dater.

Whether one likes or dislikes Kate, I do see a women who is trying to keep this gravy train going because she doesn't have any desire to be poor again, and I can respect that. Jon, on the other hand, seems to want to destroy the entire enterprise of "Jon and Kate" just to show the world he has a pair!!!

All of Jon's actions seem very spiteful to me and honestly, if I hadn't seen such horrible behavior from a person I knew well myself, I don't think I would believe such actions were possible.

Also, Jon's new lawyer was disbarred from the State of NY for five years in the past due to unethical practices. I think others comments about Heller are spot on. He probably is a friend of Michael Lohan, another pathetic example of a father. Jon's choice of friends says a lot about his character, imo.

Finally, I really feel for those kids. They are adorable little innocents in all of this....

What a great post and I agree with everything you said.

I, too, was privy to a very ugly divorce. Friends of friends. The husband-half of the couple hid money, hid belongings, refused to pay his ex-wife her portion of the marital assets and was eventually put in jail for nonpayment. He said he'd rather sit in jail than give her what the judge ordered. Then, while in jail, he approached another inmate about killing his ex-wife and now he's in jail for that!! And he was always a VERY mild-mannered, meek type of guy. She was more the dominant one and, according to my friend, not a very nice person. But his behavior was so awful and erratic as the divorce went on.

We've learned the judge in the Kate Gosselin vs. Jon Gosselin case (formerly known as ("Jon & Kate Plus 8") will hold a conference call between the battling lawyers in the next half hour, and there could be an order forcing Jon to return several hundred thousand dollars back to their joint account.

It will be interesting if the judge lets Jon's lawyer, Mark Heller, on the call -- he's not licensed to practice in PA.

Kate is certainly not taking the high road anymore. She felt it necessary to call the "View" for sympathy. Kate, get off tv, go home and take care of your 8 children. Maybe Henry will give you some free food to hold you over until you can get some money for food. Maybe you could have a garage sale and sell your old kitchen cabinets, the crooked houses, Jon's motorcycle, your new suv, the furniture from the old house, the old (new) appliances from the new house, all the coleman tent equipment along with the movie screen and popcorn machine.

I know your use to TLC providing the food on filming day (which is everyday) so maybe you can find some more shows to interview you and tell your saga to and this time bring the 8 kids on the interview with you. I'm sure they have food in the green room for the kids.

Give me a break!!!! We are suppose to feel sorry for the Gosselins because Jon & Kate are idiots???

He claims he has spent $175,000 in a year....thats his pay for 1 year? He needed 22,000 more on thursday. I see why Kate is in a panic. The divorce has only been going on for less than 90 days.

I say the truth is somewhere in the middle?

Well we know what Jon's actions were that caused her to file....he was taking large amounts of money.

My SIL's FIL is Bi Polar. He was under control for years until his DR died. The new DR decided to play with his meds. In a year he lost everything but the house. He spend over $300,000 All the Grand kids college funds were wiped out. They were so thrifty they had not changed a thing in the house in 20 years. It was so sad.

You have some very good points here. Well said! I haven't been on this thread in months, but couldn't help to come and take a peek since I watched The View this morning, and heard Kate's call! I too was thinking "oh pulleeeze" regarding her McDonalds statement. As one poster said above, go work as a nurse again if you have to! Duh! And to think I used to sort of stick up for her on this thread when it first started

Just listened to Kate on the View. I think what we have here is a long-term psychological reaction to the the fact that she had once found herself in a situation where she had no means to support her children and vowed never to put herself in that situation again.

I don't think it is fair to say "She should just be a nurse again." I think that she is right that they can only go forward. This lifestyle is the lifestyle that her kids are accustomed to. As a parent, I would feel so much liked I had failed if I were to suddenly take everything away that my children understand to be "normal".

She says this is the way that they earn money for the family. Jon clearly has no source of income seriously planned to support them (so what child support could she expect? Alimony?). Maybe long-term the show should end if it is really affecting the children....but I'm not sure that I would make different decisions in the short term if it meant seriously disrupting my children's lifestyle (and thus lead to other negative effects).

Also, what proof do we have that these kids are so damaged by being on TV? Really, do these kids act-out any more than any average child and, of course, all we really see is what is on camera?

Honestly, I think a lot of folks are just jealous that Kate is savvy and has found away to provide opportunities and freebies for her children.

Also, it is interesting that the same people who say "she should be home with her children" are the one's who say she should get a normal job to support her kids---which would take her away from home on a regular basis and require the use of babysitters (yet the use of babysitters is also criticized).

The poor woman just can't win in the "court of public opinion".

I do realize that mine is the minority opinion---but so be it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and that's min.

I was on Radaronline.com and they had pics of the kids this morning being taken to the bus with their nanny and they were hugging and kissing her goodbye. I find it so sad that while someone else is caring for them and showing them love their parents are fighting over money that was earned because of them. Sad situation all the way around.

1) She brought her bills in her handbag to the Today show? I hope she wasn't planning on taking up a collection from the audience!

2)They should have several million more around

3) if Jon has been prone to taking large amounts of money since before June, WHY would Kate still have a joint account with him, one they pay bills out of? That should have been taken care of before now.

4) hey her kids can't go to NY and they are sobbing over it, but by gosh, Kate will have a new ring even if she has to work at McD's to pay for it!

I think Jon may be right about her not thinking clearly. My advice....get off TV to think about things for a while. You both look like giant behinds, while the nanny is tending the kids.

We're told Jon & Kate Gosselin aren't living hand to mouth, but the $200,000 account that Jon raided was the only real source of living income.

There's a report out that the couple is saddled with a $720,000 mortgage on their $1.12 million house. There was talk that TLC bought the house for them outright but we've learned that is not true. TLC paid them a salary and that's it.

We're told Jon and Kate have established a trust fund for their kids and it's well into the 6 figures, but they have significant debt. They still haven't been able to sell their first house and they owe a mortgage on it.The reality is "Jon & Kate Plus 8" is good for the 8 but Jon and Kate are kinda strapped.

I certainly hope that a 6 figure trust fund has been set aside for the kids.

Many people assume that TLC pays for everything just like the mansion but that is not the facts. Jon and Kate have both stated themselves that the house was being paid for by them alone. Matt Roloff has also stated that TLC does not pay as much or for the things that many people think.
