I hope someone helps Kate with her public speaking skills before sharing the stage with these ladies. :upsidedow

and in all seriousness, reading this article (that has more details about the event) .. I'm not sure where Kate Gosselin fits in with this event. Obviously, Maria Shriver does .. but, wow. To suggest that Kate is even in the same ballpark as some of these women .. I didn't get that at all.

To be honest after reading the list of speakers there is not one I would pay to listen to, even if the tickets were free for that matter.
If I started to state my reasons why on just one of them I would be banned for sure. LOL.

I saw a couple pictures from their 4th of July celebration and in one of them, it actually looked like all were having find and Jon and Kate were actually joking around. Maybe now that they are not in the spotlight as much, some of the animosity between them will subside.

Perhaps a reconciliation down the line or they can at least be good friends.

Just a piece of this article: http://www.nwanews.com/adg/Style/263468/

The Jon & Kate: Is It Too Late? special airs at 7 p.m. today on TLC. The hour program will feature a lively intervention from the entire Duggar clan as well as their good friends, the 17-kid Bates family from Lake City, Tenn. Gil and Kelly Bates and the kids are frequently featured on 18 Kids and Counting.

Special guest star will be Dr. Phil, who'll read Jon and Kate the riot act.

That means all 20 Duggars and 19 Bateses, along with Josh Duggar's pregnant wife Anna, Anna's seven siblings and her parents, along with wacky Cousin Amy and Boyfriend Mike and Dr. Phil will descend upon Wernersville, Pa., in two motor coaches and a helicopter to confront Jon and Kate in a driveout-the-devil smackdown.

It should be impressive. It'll be 52 zealots vs. the clueless Jon and Kate. I'm going to record it for posterity.

Must be a joke. There's nothing on TLC or Discovery Health regarding this program tonight.

I cannot think of one thing that Kate has done that would warrant her speaking at a (any) women's conference. What has she done to inspire or encourage and what does she have to offer that is positive?! IMO, she isn't anything on her own. What she has done is market her 8 children. And I'm not being snarky. Maybe someone could share what makes her some sort of role model?

It IS a joke. The article was posted on July 4th. The black & white picture is not of the Duggars :rotfl: and it mentions at the bottom of the article "humorous fabrication".

How do I know this? I went RUNNING over to the DVR today when I read this to set up for tape and saw its a woman preggers for 45 yrs :scared1: so I actually went back and read the small print :headache:

Personally, I think it is very commendable that she chose to carry all of her babies instead of terminating any of them. That takes a lot of courage and faith and is certainly inspirational. Many women would not have made the same choice.

Ok, I guess I can understand that, although at some point do people look at/consider other things you have done in order to determine what kind of person you are? That one thing certainly can't be considered as life defining, at least IMO. And the kids are 5 now, it's time to look at the person Kate is now....how she acts, how she speaks to and treats people, how she lives her daily life. Is she considering how her actions today affect those 6 babies she had? I think THAT is more important that carrying the babies. (which, btw, I think was the right decision and one I would have also made)

I so agree with this. She is just finding a way to survive with these children. You have to give her credit for that. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to raise 6 babies all the same age and twins. I remember seeing an interview with her when she said she didn't know how she survived the first 2 yrs of the kids life, and she meant literally. Her life and her children's would never have been "normal" by standard ideas, and I find her courageous and a survivor. Certainly not perfect, and she has always been the first to admit it.

Is this a different Women's Conference. I know sometimes you referred to a Women's Conference in October that has been cancelled? or are there 2 of them.

Maybe kate will tell everyone, how she wanted everything for her kids, and she lost her friends, family and dh.

Quick question - my DH said he heard on the radio that J&K +8 was cancelled. Is that true?

there are two separate shows. One was in Canada (I think) that she was removed from .. this is one in California.

I doubt that's what Kate was booked to tell, since it was 5 months ago when Maria Shriver approached her.

So Jon has a 22-year old "girlfriend" now? I can't help but think that this is seriously a mid-life crisis for Jon, just a little early...

The more I read about Jon the more I can't stand him. That radaronline article proves what kind of man Jon really is; a big dirtbag.

Is radaronline reliable????

I wouldn't take those things so seriously.
