Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 5

Writing a tell all book would be horrible for those kids. That sure would be doing all he could for his kids and loving them? :( I would loose all respect for Jon (not that I have much) and make sure no one buys his book!

And don't worry, the 23 year old will get tired of Jon eventually. Kate might not have been the best wide but that is still no excuse for having a girlfirend while married! I know people who had worse marriages who worked things out with counseling.

I hope he's not stupid enough to write a book. That sure would make him father of the year...

I have to admit, I'd probably read the "tell-all" book. I know that makes me sound shallow, but I can tell you already, my curiosity would get the best of me.

I hope neither of them writes a "tell all" book. how disgusting. Talk about a low blow to your kids! My mom was no angel to live with while I was growing up and my dad was very laid back. I would have not respected him if he'd have told any "dark secrets" within their marriage.

Jon and Kate's marriage in that description (wherever did they get that type info????) above sounds like a lot of people's marriages esp. how they grow apart. Sad, but true, for a lot of marriages--not enough intimacy, sex withheld as a weapon etc. I'll never understand that but from working w/ women all my life, I hear it a lot.

If true, some of it would come from their lack of respect for one another. I think it'd be hard to find someone you didn't respect attractive. And that goes for both of them, because both are physically attractive enough, their actions make them a bit *ugly*. You know, "pretty is as pretty does."

And I was thinking that when I compared the girls in one of the segments on the couch, she hadn't had 'surgery'. I was coming to post it and there I saw you thought she had LOL. I think she definately has been working out, and has a much better bra.

I thought for the most part that these are the same voiceovers they have used in the past. There are very few I don't remember. I do find it all very very sad. They definately showed the happy times, and not the snarky (from either of them) times. I was wondering if they were watching it and wondering what happened :( I thought they showed them happy in just about the entire show, with a few meltdowns of course (including Kate's on the plane..I remember that one!).

I was wondering last night if they were watching too. It looks like some fun episodes will air in August...guess we shall see.

A tell-all (which lets face it is not a tell all but a tell my side only) would be the last thing those 8 children need. I hope Jon and Kate are above that.

I agree. If it's not Jon, it'll be someone else. A family member, someone who worked on the show, etc. He's probably going to get tired of not having his side told at some point. NOT that it's the only side. The kids will be doing the "Mommy? Dearest" thing and talk show circuit soon enough anyway! And yes people would definitely buy the book (sadly?). When people who are self proclaimed celebrities have so much grey area/unanswered questions and conflicting first hand accounts and are controversial figures, people want things cleared up.

The description given in the previous post about the last couple years of their marriage corresponds to the body language seen on the show and off (in pictures and reports). Doesn't sound far fetched to me at all. I never thought Jon was part of the big house era. Not the "big house"...not yet anyway! ;)

I don't think Jon will write a book, I do think this is a ploy to give him some leverage in the divorce. If he did write a book, I would read it. If Steve wrote a book I'd read that too, or a TLC staffer. I would like some glimpse of the real story of Kate. :)
For the record I do not own crocs, I like White Mountain clogs/sandals as my slip on totally comfy shoes!

Well, I think I've found the stupidest article analyzing J&K's pending split. This Washington Post columnist thinks she knows what would have saved their marriage: Better health insurance!!! If only Pennsylvania had required their insurance provider to cover the more expensive (and controllable) IVF procedure instead of the cheaper (but more unpredictable) IUI/gonadotropin procedure then they'd only have at most four kids today and still have a happy marriage!

What if he writes a book and claims that he had to think about supporting his kids... it was an offer he couldn't turn down? Is that worse than continuing on with the intrusive show, especially while the kids are trying to handle their parent's divorce? I don't know, neither one sounds good to me. I have been bothered by the invasive nature of the show for a while. As Mady and Cara head into their tweens, they really don't need it. A book (though tacky for sure) would be less likely to be exposed to their peers, and would hopefully not be centered around the kids. NOT voting for the book rumor, but at this point, maybe there's really nothing left to tell...only confirm. I think what you see on the show is what it is; a mess, and not a new one.

This was on the first page of AOL. No idea if it's true, but I hope not:

Star has learned that Jon is penning a scathing tell-all that threatens to expose Kate’s darkest secrets!

Jon, 32, has had enough of being portrayed as the bad buy - and he’s ready to defend himself in a book that could earn $10 million! He’s already written half of the manuscript, and when he starts shopping it around, he won’t be at a loss for publishing contacts, ironically, thanks to Kate, the author of two books!

Jon plans to reveal that he and Kate… hadn’t had sex in a year before she got so close to Steve, and even before that, they were seldom intimate, says the source. “She’d withhold sex when she wanted to punish him. Sex is important to Jon, but she didn’t care…”

In Jon’s book, which could hit shelves as soon as November, he plans to reveal that he began to fall out of love with his wife about three years ago, when she started alienating both of their families. (today, Kate has no a relationship [sic] with any member of her family). “It was like she was too good for them,” says the source. “Once Jon started to back off from her, Kate could sense it, and it made her crazy. That’s when she decided that money would be her new love…”

Now, with the breakup and having to help support eight kids, unemployed Jon desperately needs money coming in - and $10 million for his book is the payday he wants.

At this point, I wouldn't doubt if either of them wrote a tell all for the money. They need to think about the kids now more than ever. You know when these kids are in middle school or high school someone will make that book appear :sad2:
Jon needs to find someone to write the book, if he is serious about it, because I don't think he'd be able to write it himself. Hey, maybe Beth is still available :rotfl:

During the show when they announced their separation, Kate said something to the effect she felt she had no choice "due to Jon's activities (or something like that) this past weekend".

What was she talking about?

Thanks.

This was the statement:
"Over the course of this weekend, Jon's activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children," Kate's statement reads.

"While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children."

It hasn't been stated what those activities were. I am assuming it has to do with financial reasons.

Does anyone know who the guy is in the camo shorts in the OK pictures with Jon?
http://www.okmagazine.com/pixandvids/gallery/15318/21

They are in their yard right? Can you only see his shorts, not face? Yay for helmets (in the pics); Boo for barefeet! Baby steps I guess! The kids sure do play in that front yard alot. I'm glad Jon plays with them, my husband is a "playing" dad too and this seems to help foster bonds as kids get older.

'Softens hands while you do dishes..':goodvibes

"you're soaking in it." yeah, I'm old.

I think it was predicted that Jon would be having more fun with them and kate will be shown having them do more work than play. Typical of a lot of moms.
I think it would quite possibly the lowest either one could go to write a tell all book. It would be one-sided and exaggerated and those kids deserve more than that. Once again, there are better ways to make money and support your family. And again, I'd hate to be answering for that one come judgement day.
