I thought they looked like they were having fun..Kate was in the water and laughing with them. I wouldn't say that Mady and Cara looked that happy moving the UPS boxes around. The rag mags want to give us the worst pics they can. A lot of those pics are taken from very far off, and I'm sure they take hundreds, to be sure to give us the worse ones..the ones that will make us pick up their rags.

Jon doesn't seem to want to air the laundry out about their marital problems. He said it was between him and Kate.

So that makes me wonder just how much he loved her article that discussed the problems in their marriage??

Makes me wonder why he was giving the interview. If he doesn't want to air the laundry, why doesn't he just stay private and not give interviews.

Nearly 10 million people tuned in for the season 5 disaster and yet the following week only about 5 million tuned in for the Kate's b-day/Mady's day episode. That's a pretty big drop off, nearly half.

It's been reported in a few places that apparently people who didn't even know who K & J + 8 tuned in to see what all the noise was about in the season opener which inflated the amount of people who usually watch it, and now that they have gone, the regular episodes went back to almost normal (still more viewers than usual, but not like the season opener). Sort of like Jay Leno's last show. I haven't watched it in years, but I did watch the last show.

I saw that Kathie Lee Gifford spoke up and said how when her kids were little she got so much grief for talking about them and that it wasn't nothing compared to what these 8 have gone through

She's had her own problems, marital and otherwise. She used to talk about her kids and some pretty personal things too. I have no doubt she got grief. JUst like it was her choice when to walk away from what she said about her kids, it will have to be J & K's choice. KLG used to get very mad when people commented about what she shared.

Mady has learned her behavior from her mother.

I have to say something about Mady. From the get go DH and I have said that Mady reminds us of our DN. And yes I think Mady is a lot like Kate and DN is a lot like SIL. This being said this past month DN has had soccer tourneys in our town and has either spent the night with 1 parent or come for the afternoon between games for lunch and some much need AC that weekend. I notcie that DN has gotten much better. Everything didn't seem to be about her. She was very appreciative of dinner and or lunch. But she is older just turned 10 in March and she didn't have her brother with her. They are 4 years appart in age. So Mady could be getting a better attitude with age. That being said time alone with 1 parent doesn't hurt either.

In the "just jared" shots of Jon, Mady and Cara, they looked relaxed, happy and like a normal family, but all the shots from the same site of Kate and the sextuplets look more like photo ops; and the kids don't look very happy. When the show started on TLC I really enjoyed it, even looked forward to seeing it and the families appearances on other shows. But enough is enough. Kate has become a media monster, sorta like the blob, sucking up all the attention she can get and then spitting out nonsense. And Jon is just as bad. The statement that they will stop the show is the kids say to stop. The kids don't know what life would be like without the cameras, they don't know any better. If we let our kids eat only ice cream and then said we said we would stop them and give them healthy food if they asked for it. How many kids would stop the ice cream for vegetable? (And yes, I know some kids don't like ice cream or love vegetables.)

Madge, I thank you for all the updates you post on this site. I wish you would do a daily newsletter.

That's what I was thinking. So now we let 8 and 5 y/o decide what is in their best interest? They get to decide when mom and dad no longer make money. It's twisted! I was watching something last night where they were discussing the aspect of profiting off of your kids. It can never end well. Famous for nothing indeed.

How would they know who she is texting?



You know people are texting each other when person A texted, puts down their phone, less than 30 seconds later person B picks up their phone, reads a message, responds, less than 30 seconds later person A pick up their phone.... The pattern repeats. It doesn't take a genius to figure out 2 people in close proximity are texting each other. It is the 21st century's equivalent of passing notes in class.

How do you know she doesn't? Seems like she is still friends with Carla. Just because they don't show her with friends doesn't mean she doesn't have any.

Was Carla ever a friend?? Or just someone who watched the kids. She never talked about going out just her and Carla like she did with Beth.

I said very early on that I hoped Jon and Kate had some family or friends looking out for their best interests, financially and emotionally. From interviews Kate has given, that doesn't sound like the case at all.

Yes Kathie Lee Gifford had her own problems and she did talk about her children she is the first to admit to both. She did walk away from the limelight. Is back now and IMOP is better than she was ever before. I really like her now, for those reason her past marital problems and young children telling her "mom you are banned from talking about us" I would think her advice to someone like Kate would be more worthwhile than others. Kathie worked at her marriage, her kids are doing great in college and out ot the publice eye. I think Kathie Lee was right to state her concern for the kids in the way she did, I applaud her for that. There is another aspect of Kathie Lee's life that we can't discuss here something that her and Kate are suppose to have in common .

I'm watching their "Behind the Scenes" episode right now.

They showed pre-kids footage, dating footage, wedding footage etc...

They seemed so happy and in love. It's so sad to see where they are now.

I know people have strong feelings on here about how "capable" they are according to Kate as grandparents.. Are they in good health, they must be in their 70's. I wonder did her brother think or say favorable things about them. I understand there are some adult children of alcoholics and such who really do not want a relationship with their parents. That entire part of their life ???

Carla was a friend of Kate's long before the show. She is a friend of the Kreider family, actually one of Kate's sisters I think. She and her then teenage daughter helped out a lot when the tups were born. Ashley went to college in VA, and Carla was going to keep being on the show, but Kate said, "no money will be made off of our kids by anyone but us." Carla and Kate did not have a true falling out. She did yard work for the Gosselins at the old house and was paid by TLC/ Figure 8, whatever. She also went back to a public job after being a stay at home mom. I don't know what, if anything she is getting paid to do for them now. Ashley was paid at one point for babysitting the kids by way of a nanny agency. Ashley is at the beach with Kate and the kids this/last week. That is her in the unflattering bikini pics! She's really cute, and very short. I bet Kate is tiny in person if that's how she looks in those bikini pics that have been posted! Carla has several younger kids, but I can't keep that straight.

The only clip I saw of Kate's parents is the wedding video, and her dad is blurred out. I don't remember them being on the show.

The point I thought I was making was, she wouldn't stop talking about her kids. She had to be the one to make that decision and it took a long time for that come. It's not like a light bulb went off and she suddenly stopped. It was because her kids (according to her) begged her and after a couple years of that, she shut up. KLG didn't exactly walk away from the limelight..I think it walked away from her. Just like J & K, we see now, what she wants us to see.
Her kids may also be writing a book one of these days. I like her too, always have, but it doesn't mean I agree with a lot of what she did.
As for her being the one that could talk to K & J, there is a lot of stuff I did as a teen, that I'd just as soon my kids had learned from me and didn't repeat my mistakes. Did they? Nope, they needed to learn all that stuff on their own. KLG wouldn't listen to others, and right now K & J aren't. It's just the way the world works. We all need to learn our own lessons.

she does look good, I'll give you that ..

but the girls (and I don't mean, Alexis, Leah, or Hannah ) are what make me take notice .. I know she hasn't had time to have any work done and recover .. but wow. just wow.

Thanks for your answer I honestly did not know if they were or if it was Jon's mom. I know it is none of my business and maybe there are vaalid reasons why her/their parents are not speaking up. I have no clue I can imagine reasons from them being painfully shy to just not being caring parents, who knows I guess.

Possibly because a threat was made against Kate or the kids? I could imagine some nutjob wanting the "save" the 'tups from their "exploitive" parents. Or kidnap one for ransom.

I know I have owned every water, miracle, biofit, wonder, push up, chicken cutlet device and nothing, nothing like that. It is not like I am a AAA, I got something but I find it hard to believe they have not been at least lifted with a small/medium implant.

I really have no clue I thought they were on the show once but I was wrong. Again Ii thought her dad was a preacher, if he is divorced ,wow. I said once before I am sure there is an unauthorized biography in the works with all the publicity this is getting. Not sure if it will answer any questions but I am sure it is being written.
