Holy Moly...I just got through over 30 pages. I have to post this here so I can remember where I left off.

Okay, the size of the house. There was nothing wrong with the size of the other house. They had two HUGE bedrooms upstairs and the twins big bedroom in the bonus room over the garage, two bedrooms downstairs with living room, big eat in kitchen and laundry room big enough for two washers and two dryers. Plenty of bathrooms. They had a double car garage and a really big yard. The basement was huge and obviously very useable. That is a great house. It is actually very well laid out for a large, young family. The 2900 sq. feet listed probably doesn't include the twins' bedroom because it was accessible only through another bedroom (we had this issue with an attic bedroom) and may not include downstairs if it isn't part of the main hvac system.

There new house seems like a safety hazard to me with the twins room being accessible by its own staircase and not part of the rest of the upstairs. I would have lost my kids when they were all little in that house and property! The three boys are sharing a much smaller bedroom than they were before. Kids pile up, they don't spread out. More space is not what kids need when they are little. Trust me I've been there. Have you all noticed how the other families on Kids by the Dozen live? The Gosselins did not need that 6000? sq. foot house. They wanted it, and that's fine. I have not ever heard that TLC bought it. I heard it was purchased in a trust which is not a bad idea at all.

As far as someone saying they didn't seek out people locally to interview who like them and know them? I don't think there are any. Everyone says their friends, family, church family, college friends, former employees, former employers, former co-workers, etc. don't speak on their behalf because they "don't want to get involved." Well it is time. They need someone who loves them to be on their side. I can't imagine how lonely Kate must feel even though she is surrounded by people.

I really liked the size of the bedrooms, but I thought the layout of the mainfloor to be really bad. I thought that the living room and kitchen/dinning room were really small. I also hated how small the entrance way was in through the front door. I only have 1 child and there is no way I would have wanted a main floor like that, I couldn't imagine having 8 kids there I guess it is different strokes for different folks.

I thought the picture of Kate and the kids in NC was taken during the Memorial Day weekend. Does anyone know?

the picture was dated Wednesday, or maybe Tuesday. The media seemed to think they'd been apart for Memorial Day .. and judging from the pictures of Jon and his friends, that may be right.

I have lived with an alcoholic too, I didn't get that vibe.

I agree, I didn't get the he had been drinking vibe, but I have seen that very defensive "I didn't do anything and I don't care what you think" attitude way too often and I didn't believe a word he said.

I don't understand why some are reporting that Jon and TLC are looking for a camera crew friendly apartment for him. I thought he wanted out of the show? Even with a contract, why would he allow that, they could still film him with the kids if he has to fulfill his contract, why do they need to be in his apartment?

I am by no means a Kate defender, but recently it's Jon that I really can't stand.

Ok, as others have asked...please slow down. I've got dinner to make and my boys just heard the wonderful sound of the ice cream truck! So much for dinner I guess! (Is it bad that I'd just feed them ice cream for dinner if friends weren't coming over?)

We used to tell our kids that when the ice cream van played its tune it meant it had run out of ice cream!

It no longer works though!!!!...............

There doesn't seem to be much more 'real' new updates in the past week (other than the investigation into the filming), just seems to be a rehash of all the gossip.

As for the investigation I don't think anything will really come of it. They may just specify a number of hours of filming per week but compared to 'child fim/TV stars' the Gosselin kids don't seem (to me) to do much 'work'. I mean they don't have to get up mega early to be on set, have lines to learn and multiple retakes. The Gosselin kids just seem to get up when they normally would and get filmed doing what they would be doing anyway.

And a lot of child actors don't have much, if any down time between films/TV - they seem to go from one to another constantly.

But again, that's just my personal opinion.

I feel they will be damaged more by seeing the recent media coverage of their parents, especially their mother - as any child would be. And by seeing how their Aunt & Uncle have been 'helping'.

Just found out yesterday that my sister has undergone the same type of fertility treatment as Kate, but she didn't have the same results at all. She's been trying for years with no luck. So just because Kate did the treatments didn't mean she was guaranteed multiples...my poor sister spent all that money and got no babies at all...


ok....OT.....here's my DD18 at her graduation party....there are 3 schools on the cake because the poor thing had to go to 3 different high schools thanks to the military and moving!!

That's so true Michelle, as JK have said - they didn't ever plan for that many. I hope your sister will have better luck with her treatments, it's such a difficult and emotional process to go through.

Ya know- even with all the Jon bashing and Kate bashing... I really hoped they could get past it all and remember why they got married and had babies in the first place.... with every picture and headline that looks less likely though.

Well if he's looking to get out now, they're still within their season 5 contract (I do believe). I don't know how long the contracts go - if it's like when they start filming season five until the last episode is aired or how that works. But I would think that would be their thinking - trying to keep up the show for the season they've committed to, which would mean continuing to film. And Jon's never said (that I can recall) that he doesn't want to kids to be filimed - just that *he's* not happy with the lifestyle and being recognized. Maybe he doesn't care that the kids are filmed (I don't know....just throwing that out there).

HA! That's a good idea! The ice cream's still in the freezer. DS2 wound up having some birthday cake instead and DS4 was out until dark playing with friends....they're going to eat their $4 ice cream one of these days!

Congrats to your DD! She is beautiful!! Isn't graduation time such a bittersweet time? Happy that they are successful and growing up, but sad that they will be leaving the nest soon.

I'm sorry for your sister. We dealt with infertility for 14 months before we got pregnant with DD. I know many couples suffer much much longer and my heart just bleeds for them. It is so difficult.

As far as J&K, the month they conceived she had hyperstimulated ovaries. She was even hospitalized for it and told not to try to conceive that month. So, I think they knew they had a much higher rate than normal. JMO.

As far as that picture posted on the boat, I think the person was joking because of the wind blown hair. I know my friend that has a blog was joking about working the Gosselin name in one of her posts so she would get more hits.

You are right my niece is a lawyer who deals with adoptions, surrogates and actually write up contracts for couples who do infertility treatmenst and have extra embryos and what will happen to the embryos, if they donate them to other couples ect. ect. of if the couple gets a divorced, or if they die who gets custody of the embryos, are they to be destroyed. I saw her last night and we discussed the situation a bit between J&K, she said that is exactly what Kate had been told do not have relations because the chances of mega multiples was so high.
I should say of course my niece had nothing to do with the case, this being her "field" the ethics of infertility issues are something she seems to be more aware of than I am.
