Why are they paying two, I thought the other one sold. Do they own a rental some where,

People keep saying they have all this money. They have the same blue van for atleast 4 years.

I wasn't aware the other one sold. Perhaps that's what Madge meant, the other house and the new one. I recall Kate saying they were paying two mortgages, but not recently.

I think people are saying that they have all this money b/c they live the lifestyle of someone who has a lot of money. Kate and the children are dressed to the hilt every time you see them and they go on extravagant vacations, live in an extravagant house, and now Jon owns an extravagant two seater car and is supposedly buying his "girlfriend" $400 purses.

Some of that is donated, but I doubt that all of it is...and Jon and Kate are supposedly making all of this money from their episodes, not to mention Kate's two book sales, speaking engageements, television appearances, etc. etc.

They are certainly doing better than me and my husband, that's for sure!

The woman's long comment above that remarked on Kate not letting the boys decorate their cupcake or eat it at the fourth birthday party - do you happen to know if that is true? :confused3

I missed that episode...

Partly. The boys decorated cupcakes and had fun doing it. All the kids had to wait till after dinner to eat theirs. At dinner, some of them were not eating. They were told if they didn't eat dinner they could not have their cupcakes for dessert. They didn't eat, so no cupcake. It was just a parent following through on what they said, nothing more, nothing less.

That house that they just moved from was way to small for 10 people

5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a full finished basement (with room to play and shoot the couch confessionals), with a large yard? 2900 square feet?

that's way too small?

they seemed to be doing just fine while they lived there. they weren't living in a shoebox.

and again. I don't disagree with the purchase of the new house. I would do the exact same thing if I'd won the lottery like the Gosselin's have.

Except one of the girls barely ate a bite and was allowed her cupcake.

the Gosselin's estimated worth is $10 million.

I am surprised they haven't traded up on the blue van .. it's probably got a ton of miles on it by now.

I didn't see the episode, but didn't one of the girls also not eat dinner, but she was allowed her cupcake? Maybe someone can confirm that.

one of the girls didn't really eat, and Kate allowed her (the same one?) to be spoon fed by one of the older girls.... the son did not get the same treatment.

I think the old house was an acceptable size for 10 people, but for 10 people plus a camera crew....

Why do you think that house won't sell? My dh said it was the bad karma! It is a nice house and you'd think a fan would want it. The price is reasonable (to me--I'm not sure for the area). Unless people are afraid there are still cameras in there or that they would get unwanted drive bys and attention for living there.

eta: wouldn't it be funny to buy it and go on and on about how filthy it was and you just couldn't stand it.....LOL

Thanks, Nancy for the answer to my post. The above poster's statement made me LOL. This must be the famous episode that I've been hearing reference made to, where one girl didn't eat and got her dessert while the boys didn't eat and had to do w/out.

Funny about the remark of being "spoon-fed". My DS4 wants me to "feed" him his dinner if its something he doesn't like. I always thought it was strange that he wouldn't eat it himself, but would eat if I fed him. Guess I'm not the only one!!! :goodvibes

OMG! I totally noticed this, also. It was like she was putting on a show for the preschool teacher or cameras by the show of affection. It seemed overdone to me (you all can flog me for that statement, but that's the way I saw it! :)).

I thought she was looking at the paparazzi in the woods when she was spaced out. She totally seemed to enjoy them being there, even if she said she didn't.

Hmmm... I didn't see it that way at all. I don't know, I guess I saw it more as she has a TON of emotional crap going on in her life right now, and so I think she was just kinda staring out and probably thinking, and so she didn't hear Collin at first. I also didn't think her reaction was overdone at all either. That is something that's very sweet for a 5 year old to say, plus I'm guessing she's feeling horrible for her kids right now with everything that's going on and all the possible outcomes, so I don't know, it seemed like a pretty natural reaction to me. It's something that I could see myself doing pretty easily, especially with all the crap going on for her right now.

Karma that is stretch. I would say more like bad economy. I still think it to small

You may be right. :thumbsup2

As I said a few posts back, I do tend to be biased toward Kate. It may not be right for me to feel that way, but I can't help it!

I agree with you. I might have made do with a house for 10 with four bedrooms, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay in it if I didn't have to. I only had three kids with fours bedrooms and it was crowded. I am surprised it was 4000 square feet. I assume that was with the basement. Storage seemed to be at a premium. I have a full attic and didn't know where to fit everything. They didn't appear to have a den or a dining room. They must count the deck and the garage.
As for their value being 10 million, is that something just posted, or have they leaved out their bank accounts? I mean, do we really know that?

And yes, a nurses salary can be very good (my daughter is one), but I'm not convinced that is a job someone hire her for at this time. As for Jon, his bo seems to be different dependingon where you read it. I thought he traveled Europe shortly before he met Kate, but his pal didn't give that same info. Jon seems ot have had a few short term jobs, and his reason according to his boss, for leaving the job a couple jobs ago, didn't match up with what Jon and Kate said. So he may find it hard to find employment.

I'll go by what happens once they are investigated. If they are found to be doing right by the kids, then that should be that.

As for if Kate let this kid eat a cupcake and not that one, or whatever we find to pick on her for, I'll have to chalk that up to editing on TLC, at least until one of the kids come out wiht a book. As or the child on the floor in the laundy room, if my kid had just upchucked on their bed, I might have put a blanket down on the floor for a couple of reasons..1. I didn't want to have to clean up another bed, and 2. I would want them close to me, but not near a rug or couch.

Puffkin would probably know home values, since she lives in the same area as the Gosselins. But according to Zillow, it's overpriced:

There are a lot of times I won't one of my kids have a dessert and the other one can. If they are acting up. if they won't eat dinner there are a ton of reason

that's why I said it was estimated ;)

estimated by who? no one that knows for sure .. but speculate on all the endeavors the Gosselins are involved with that we (general we -- the people) know about. I rarely see any mention of Kate's time spent working with Kmart, P & G, or WalMart/Healthtex. That might be figured in? I don't know.

The listing for the house says it's a 5 BR house.
