I just watched Monday's show. A few things caught my attention unrelated to the Jon/Kate drama.
Did anyone else notice that when the kids were eating lunch, they had single serve peanut butter cups? I've noticed this in the past as well. Single serve of anything is expensive!
Maybe it's because I happened to catch the a short clip of the episode where Jon failed to use a coupon and Kate went on and on about saving money.
But just because she wants to save money doesn't mean she doesn't occasionally buy something special. I use coupons all the time, but I also use the money I save on some things to help me afford other things, y'know?
I also noticed that they were using Styrofoam cups at the BBQ. What happened to the Going Green Show with Sarah Snow?
There are biodegradable types of styrofoam-like cups. And ... just because they "go green" doesn't mean that it's practical in all phases of their lives.
As the kids were eating the candy, I had a flashback to the show where Kate talked about the kids only getting organic suckers.
Things change. She's allowed to change her mind. Or maybe it was a special treat. Only getting organic suckers sounds great, but again ... not always practical.
At the party, there were a ton of 2-liter bottles on the table but yet it looked like everyone was drinking juice boxes instead. The labels were all lined up making me think that Coke donated them for advertising.
Product placement would not be outside the realm of possibility!
My daughter and I lost count on how many times Kate had to bring up the fact that she has to do everything alone without any help but yet there were people setting up the party and who was watching the children while she was there trying to get things set while wearing a dress. Maybe she changed into pants when she went back home because she was cold.
Lastly, she said that she doesn't allow the children to use the word
paparazzi. They never would have used the word if they hadn't heard it many times before.
Well ... sure. But it doesn't mean it came from Jon or Kate. How many times have you looked at your kids and said, "Where did you learn THAT word?" Kids pick stuff up. Remember that these kids go to pre-school and school. They're not home 24/7. They do watch TV and talk to other kids in the neighborhood. And yeah ... maybe they heard mom or dad say it. My parents used to swear, but told me I wasn't allowed to. Same thing.
I used to like the show when it was
real. Now that it's turned into a completely unrealistic show where it's all about promoting a product and getting it for free, it's lost it's appeal for me.
