I don't post often, but I have to disagree with this. For two reasons. First, I don't believe the money train is over. Kate has established herself firmly into American culture. She will always be able to make money from this history. There will be many, many opportunities available to her, even if Jon & the kids aren't filmed anymore. Love her or hate her (I like to compare her to Martha Stewart and Paris Hilton) she is an interesting person and we Americans cannot help but be fascinated.
Secondly, she was in love and she is a mom. Just a few years ago that was her reality. No matter if it is your own choices that got you here, or if you blame someone else for the dissolving of that, it has to hurt. Perhaps she's not at all torn up about losing Jon, perhaps she isn't in love with him anymore (though I think she is) but even with that, it has to sting very, very badly to lose the ideal that you had set up for yourself.
I understand that they brought most of this upon themselves. But I simply cannot share in the lack of empathy for her I see in so many posts. I think it is all terribly sad and not just because of the kids. But because the idealistic world that they had built & were trying desperately to hold onto has been smashed to smithereens in the last 6 months. And now in addition to all the emotions that the normal couple goes through in a divorce, they have to face the wrath of all of America. And watch their kids suffer not only at their own hands but also at all of our hands. Yes, they put them in our hands, but they could not possibly have understood the reprucussions. And how can you go backwards? As Kate says in the preview they have to go forwards. You can have regrets, but you can't change it.
Sorry for all the haters, but as for me I think that is a situation that deserves my empathy no matter what part the players had in it.
