I think Kevin and Jodi are despicable people. They say they want what's best for the kids, but how can saying those things (even if they are true) to the public be in the best interest of the children?

What a group of idiots. Seriously, what were any of them thinking? If it's true that Kate indeed did present this contract to Jon, how stupid is he for agreeing to it?? He didn't think THAT might harm his kids, to be out of the house living a seperate life and dating 23 year olds? I don't get any of it. I truly don't understand either how Kevin & Jodi coming forward is helping the kids. To say that the kids are unaware is just ridiculous. Don't you think they'll notice that Daddy doesn't sleep at home or is gone a lot?

Oh, I forgot...no one can read between the lines, everything must be taken literally.

Ever hear the saying, "Hate the sin - not the sinner"?? And beforeyou make any assumptions, I don't "hate" Kate and I don't "hate" what she and Jon are doing.. Hate is a very strong word - not to be thrown around lightly.. I am very concerned about the children - mainly because they are not old enough to have a "say" in what aspects of their lives they want broadcasted for all the world to see.. I disapprove of what Jon & Kate are doing - especially in light of all of the recent scandals that are being reported; their faces covering rag sheets everywhere; and the fact that they continue to feel the "show" is more important than shutting it down so they (and their children) can deal with whatever issues that need to be dealt with in private.. That's a long, long, LONG way from "hate"..

This is an open letter to Kate Gosselin written by Alyssa Martina -- "founder, president and publisher of Metro Parent Magazine." Kate Gosselin was a part of the Metro Parent Magazine's Distinguished Speakers Series in Detroit last week.

She slams Kate Gosselin in this letter -- not for what she said as a speaker, but for how she treated people at the event, (the hosts, the sponsors, etc.)

I don't understand why everyone keeps thinking that people here are "hating" Kate. Hate is a very strong word and from all the posts I've read, I certainly wouldn't say that anyone here hated her. A lot of people disagree with what she and Jon are doing and that's fine. On the other hand many people think she's doing her best and that's fine too.

Exactly.. Maybe other people use the word "hate" a little more freely when they are talking about human beings.. I don't.. And I still haven't seen anyone post here that they "hate" Kate OR Jon..

I'm sad about Jon & Katie. My DD 22 & I really like Kate. It was hard to see them on the Love Seat alone. John seams like he is already gone...it is just the Vibe I get.

I don't know what to believe. It's almost too ridiculous...a secret marriage contract allowing your spouse to have girlfriends? It seems pretty far fetched to me and Kevin & Jodi said they're only going by what Jon has told them. I can't imagine Kate making up a contract but maybe I'm wrong. Really, it just sounds insane to me if she did and even more insane if Jon agreed to it! Don't you think the kids would've noticed too? If Jon is leading this seperate life and only coming together with Kate to film? Something is not adding up right here.

If Jodi and Kevin don't think this is going to blow up in their faces big time they are either very naive or very dumb. As said been said numerous times (usually about Kate), if you put yourself out there - you open yourself up to major criticism.

The media will start sniffing around them and I'm just waiting for the 'scandal' about them to erupt. If there is anything even remotely iffy about them, the media will find it. And I will have absolutely NO sympathy for them.

I agree with much that is being said about Aunt Jodi and Kevin. They just aren't coming off as genuine and their interview looks very scripted to me. They don't sound natural when they are talking. Maybe it's just me, though.

Also, I think it sounds like an awfully big risk for Kate to allow Jon to see other people. If Kate is as calculating as some make her out to be, I think she would have calculated that risk.

It just doesn't make sense from a logistical and practical standpoint.

I watched the sneak peak and I don't think Jon looks like he has checked out already. I hope not anyway. Like 'em or not, they are a family. They all deserve to be mended and whole, no matter how all the problems started.

I watched the sneak peek and Jon seemed more alert then he has in a long time. He was able to talk without being told to stop or what he was saying was wrong. He did not seem like the same monotone Jon I have seen in the past.

Unless I hear Jon or Kate say it themselves - in a live interview; on their show; on another t.v. talk show; etc. - I don't believe there's any "contract".. I've only read about it here - on this thread - and no one has provided a link to Jon or Kate making that statement themselves..

I agree with this. I think there may be something in writing about obligations to participate in the filming of the show. But a "you can have a girlfriend contract?" Not a chance.

I don't think any lawyer would advise their client to write in a contract that a spouse be allowed to have sexual partners on the side. Think of the ramifications of that should there be a divorce down the road. You would have given up the "my spouse was unfaithful card" that so many people pull out when it comes time to petition for money, custody of the kids, etc. It's something you can hold against a person to get what you want in a divorce. (Sad, but true.) Also, what does that say about you as a person and about how YOU'VE checked out of the relationship?

Shame on Jodi and Kevin...I guess fame really does get to your head. People will do anything for their fifteen minutes in the spotlight, I just wish that they would realize that there are CHILDREN involved.
How can they speak so badly about Jon and Kate in such a public way? Geesh..every tabloid and entertainment news program has gossip on Jon and Kate, do Jodi and Kevin really need to add to it?

That's a big reach to make, yes people change, as Kate has. But their inherent characters don't, and I just don't think she'd ever do that.

Sorry I totally think that is something that Kate would do!!! This was she is insured to keep the show. Jon will get feed up and do something stupid like stumble out of a bar with some 23 year old chick and she would look like a saint
