I would love to see two things happen. First TLC should be flooded with calls and emails demanding this series be pulled. It is an insult to the public. Secondly, there should be a call for lawmakers to include young performers in reality series to be treated and guarded by the same laws that govern all young performers.

I have no problems with never watching another episode of J&K+8. And, if I knew TLC was shredding everything they have prepared for season 5 I'd applaud them for finally showing some ethics and standards instead of exploiting a troubled family for profit as they're doing now to get the show ready to air May 25.

I wish calls to TLC would/could get the show pulled, but IMO they have too much money already invested in the new season to make that costly decision and as we all know, their decisions are ruled by money and not what is best for the children/family.

Yes, we should call lawmakers in each state, (especially PA where the Gosselin's live and whose laws govern the conditions of their work and pay, etc), asking them to enact laws to protect all minors in every aspect of the entertainment industry. In PA there are NO laws for children involved in ANY form of the entertainment industry, let alone reality tv. CA has some great laws on their books protecting children in all aspects of entertainment (print photos, reality tv, radio, tv, movies, etc) as do a few others, but most states have nothing on their books and we definitely need to write our lawmakers asking them to protect children from all types of exploitation in the entertainment industry. Check out www.minorcon.org and you'll find a wealth of info from Paul Petersen's group and their work for minors in the industry. You'll also find info on the laws that exist in CA and the protections that the Gosselin children should, but never had.

I have always liked Jodi and Kevin, but I really have to wonder about their story appearing in Star magazine. I appreciate that they are speaking out and I do believe they love the kids and probably have their best interests in mind, but still, the Star is a tabloid rag basically, many won't take it seriously or will question how truthful it is. Why didn't they go to a more legitimate media source? They are now on Radar On-line, so "affiliated" by association with Octo-Mom and now being in Star, I don't know, it just seems more like sensationalism and gossip, rather than being really helpful to the kids.

You know, it's really weird. TLC played up the last episode clips like they were having problems with their marriage, then at the end Jon wanted to cancel & Kate wanted to keep it going. (I was like "what??")Everyone had a sense that something was wrong then. Now that the season is about to start again, they are having problems. I honestly don't think that they have been happy for a while now.

yes and no.

Jon is the only one confirmed to have an affair. He hasn't said or done anything else (after releasing that ridic statement he released) that's worthy of bashing. I keep waiting for that to change at any moment.

Kate, on the other hand, continues the public appearances, speaks to talk shows and entertainment magazines, perpetuates the internet speculation about her ... and according to other websites, intends to keep filming the show.

that's how I see it, anyway. Neither side is doing anything to put a stop to it, nor does it look like they're making the children's well being a priority. Now, Jon could be with them .. that is certainly possible. I hope he is.

Everyone keeps saying that Jodi and Kevin sold them out for money, but where is it said they got any money at all for anything. TLC came to them and offered to pay them for the use of their home. They never went to TLC and asked for money. Kate was the one that pulled the plug when she said nobody makes money off her kids but her. TLC pays everyone when they use their homes and businesses, why shouldn't Jodi and Kevin have been paid?

As for the Star interview, where did it say they were paid for that one? I assumed they went with Star because they came to them and asked for a statement. Nowhere does it say they were paid. I think Jodi and Kevin both kept quiet for so long hoping things would change, and only spoke out when it was getting out of control. If they wanted anything, I think they would have come out when the book first came out and published their own book.

If it's true that Jon went to them months ago, then I applaud them for keeping quiet (plus for the years that they have). Something happened to make them finally decide they'd seen/heard/had enough and to finally speak out; which I think was done with the motive being to bring the family back together if possible.

I don't get it the statements of Kevin & Jody being paid either. I haven't seen any implications that were paid. I'm more inclined to think that Kate has been paid for the People articles and covers she's done (alone and with the family) -- probably on some kind of exclusive contract type thing - but that's completely speculation based on what I've read some 'stars' do with People and other mags.

I just hope this public airing of their dirty laundry opens their eyes to the damage they've done to their marriage, their family, and their futures. And, I hope that they cancel the show and all public appearances and stay home trying to mend their fractured family - if that's even possible at this point. It's so sad to think they sold their children's innocense and childhoods for money. Did they 'need' the sports cars, the mansion, the diamonds and jewelry, the designer clothing, the vacation houses, the cooks and cleaners and nannies?

I wonder if late at night when they're alone, sitting quietly; if they wish they had made different decisions for their family.

Because it's a dirt bag magazine most often filled with half truths, and most would not be caught in this magazine giving an interview unless they were paid the big bucks. This is a magazine that preys on lies and usually hurts the people being talked about while doing so. They only care about sensation..and to heck with the people they are hurting.

I really find that odd considering Kate herself is speaking out to these type of magazines. How much do you think Kate was paid by People for a cover. anl exclusive interview admitting it is probably over with her and her husband. I am sure those pictures and statement came with a hefty price tag. That really is a pot calling a kettle. Jon on the other hand has not sold his side as far as I can tell. And I am not saying his hands are clean either. JMOP.

I was at CVS today with my 9 year old son and almost every magazine at checkout had them on it and he saw and read it. He was so sad for the kids. Those girls have to know what is going on. If other kids are seeing this you know they are talking about it at school

Explain to me how shoveling dirt to STAR MAGAZINE is helpful to these kids in any way?

I wonder if they chose Star because it pays for interviews whereas some of the more reputable magazines do not. And perhaps they waited this long because NOW is when the big money has come available due to the story exploding as it has. I'm sure their story is worth much more to the media now than it was say a year ago.

Kate stated yesterday to a crowd in Michigan that she is done touring and going to spend more time at home.

Kate Gosselin said the stop in Muskegon, located about 35 miles northwest of Grand Rapids, was the last on her travel schedule for a while. She said she plans to spend more time at home after the visit.

It doesn't surprise me a bit that Jon hasn't given an interview. What in the world is he going to say? There are not just rumors about Jon there are also pictures and witnesses to his bar hopping. Does that mean he cheated? No, but it doesn't look good.

I have been guilty of making assumptions about Jon, Kate, Jodi all of them. I don't know any of them or what they have been through. I do believe that all of them love those 8 kids.

Kate's in Metro Detroit today. I wish she would keep her story straight.

Kate can't win not matter what she does.
I bet if she and John don't split, people will say, how can she keep those kids in a bad marriage situation. I bet if they do split people will say, how can she do that to her kids. Even if we find out that Jon was the only one having an affair, it will probably be Kate's fault because she was out selling her book.

Boy, TLC must be thrilled. This first show will probably be the highest watched show they have.

The part I put in italics is regarding my previous post this morning. I didn't have much time to further explain myself. I guess I meant "why pull the plug now?". She's already in MI and I'm sure has sold out of the tickets and at this point what's another day away from home going to hurt? At the least I hope she offers to make a donation or something to cover the costs associated with her cancelling (promotion, tickets being printed, finding another attraction this late in the game, ect). I know it sounds crazy but it's my opinion and I'm sure many disagree with it which is totally ok by me - that's why this is a "discussion". Yes I would certainly like to see her stop with the touring the country - especially over the summer while the kids are out of school. I guess I can see during the week while the kids are in school - that makes a bit of sense to me. This being gone for days/weeks at a time isn't cool at all. So, I wonder what made her cancel the rest of her appearances. I also wonder for how long they'll be cancelled. I did try and google the Metro Parents Expo she was scheduled to be at this week but couldn't find a schedule.

I don't see Kate as being "bashed" for the affair Jon's allegedly having. There is certainly some "Kate hate" going on, but I think there's also a lot of sadness for the eight little ones who didn't choose this and frustration with their parents for the drastic and life altering decisions they made on their behalf.

I missed that last night thanks for posting. I submitted a request to CNN asking if Nancy Grace would consider covering the topic.

You're welcome. I was actually expecting to see one of those Dr. Phils about "behind the headlines" or whatever he calls it. He's slacking off over there! He was all over the Octo-mom thing and he's not mentioning this (unless I missed it which is possible!).
