Wow...amazing how things slow down when there are only reruns on! :upsidedow I have a couple of shows on my dvr. DS4's been asking every night "can we watch my favorite show - Jon and Kate Plus 8 - right now please?". Seriously - the kid could be a commercial for the show! :rotfl: So maybe we'll have a treat this weekend and curl up on the coach and watch J&K. :goodvibes

He and my Dneice, 8yo, both! :thumbsup2She LOVES the show, can tell you anything about it and her favorite gift for Christmas was the DVD's of the show she got from her grandmother.

Ok...FINALLY watching the second half of last Sunday's show. The kids are so cute playing with the puppies.

Speaking of puppies...I saw one on the news this morning that I want SOOO bad from the SPCA, but DH says we don't need another one...he's right, but I STILL WANT HIM!! DH doesn't know this yet, but if the puppy doesn't get adopted today at the adopt-a-thon I'm going to go get him!! ;)

I usually have total willpower to resist puppies, but something about this one is screaming for me to go get him...it's the same way I felt when I first saw my 3 year old dog. So, if no one gets him today it was meant to be and I will get him!! :thumbsup2

OT!!

I went to see the puppy from the SPCA and it was already adopted, but DD18 has a friend who's dog just had puppies, so look who will come to live with us in about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks!!

Back on topic...Jon and Kate are great...:yay:

I'm thoughtful like that. LOL.
:lmao:

what in the world are we going to do around here for the next 5 weeks until the new season starts?

American Idol!

FWIW, I was listening to a rerun of the "Green" episode last night (I think it was on Discovery Health, or maybe some Green network. I don't remember.) I thought that Steve found Kate's grouchiness amusing.

I give her credit -- there is absolutely no way I would have gone up on the lift to look at the roof of the house. I have problems on "Soarin'" at Epcot.

Speaking of sextuplets -- did anyone see the Dilleys on the Food Network yesterday? The challenge was to bake a cake for their 16th birthday. I can remember when they were the Gosselins ages (both 4 and 8).

I saw the Dilley's last night too. I was counting how many times they were called the SIX-tuplets :rotfl2:

I usually stop watching AI after the auditions (unless I know someone in the top 12, and I have a couple of times). I am glad, though, that Megan got kicked off. She was way too cocky with not much to back it.

.

September plans are still in the back of my mind...but since DH said yes to the puppy I don't want to push it!! ;)

We think his name is going to be Jonas. We went to visit him today...I can't wait to bring him home!!

But the people that we're getting the dog from (DD's friend) said they would babysit him when we go away!! So that's one dog that I don't have to kennel when I go to Disney!! ;)

I'm watching the episode where one of the dogs ate a kid's toy. Jon took all the kids to the vet. to pick up the dog and he forgot one of the kids in the car!:lmao: I think it was Alexis! He realized he was short one kid and went back to the car to get Alexis. Pretty funny! :goodvibes

I'm bacccckkk .. :cool1:

Did the Keys to the Kingdom tour on Friday. Our guide was working at the MK the day the Gosselins were there. All she would say was that the children were adorable. It was funny, though. She didn't tell the whole group about seeing them -- if you've taken the tour, you know they give you headsets to hear the guide clearly. The whole conversation took place in an elevator while the guide was escorting a wheelchair guest downstairs (the rest of us took the steps). It felt like we were eavesdropping on their conversation, but we weren't. Good thing, since I was making faces while the woman with us was talking about Kate. :lmao:

micehlleVW - Adorable puppy!!! So wish we could have one!

madge - how funny is that about your CM.

I watched a couple of reruns over the weekend but of course can't remember anything to write home about! :goodvibes Nothing major at least! :goodvibes

I did watch the episode where they decorated cupcakes - I believe that was the "cupcakegate" episode. I guess I didn't see anything that was worth picking apart. Yeah Kate was fussy about the kids getting dirty. I'm the same way when they have nice clothes on. BUT when you're going to do something messy, you need to plan accordingly. I recall J&K "discussing" that Jon would have been mad had he had to change all of the kids and I couldn't help but thinking "it'd go twice as fast if you'd help!" :sad2: (not saying she doesn't help - just going off what she said!) She could have just as easily brought a big tshirt for each of them (maybe instead of the aprons although they were cute!) so they wouldn't get messy! I also think if that was their birthday you could bend the rules a little bit and let them have the cupcakes after telling the kids only on their birthday. I'm thinking though (unless they don't celebrate birthdays like we do - which I know not everyone does!) that maybe they did the cake thing another time because they didn't sing happy birthday or anything (at least that I saw).

We also watched them camping out at their house. I loved when they were sitting on the couch at the interview and Jon was talking about how much fun the kids had roasting marshmallows and Kate said something about wishing he'd have waited for her because she wanted to see it. I thought one of two things - where were you? and they wouldn't have had as much fun - which Jon pointed out and I thought "good for you!". I wasn't a fan of Kate just screaming "she just walked by that open flame" as one of the kids walked in front of her between Kate and the fire. Don't scream about it, grab the kid! That's what I've done when my kids don't realize what they're doing - especially if it's their first time doing something like that. I only got as far as the "coming up next..." when they showed the tents and the words on the screen said something about "daddy this glow stick is dripping" then Jon "Joel did you BITE IT????". Just they way he said it made me smile since I'd already seen the rest of the episode at another time. Then it was outside to watch my boys play basketball. :goodvibes

We also watched their trip to San Diego and their vow renewal this weekend. I liked the San Diego trip a lot and liked the vow renewal - I got teary eyed. :bride: Kate looked great and the kids were so darned cute!! I would have expected a bit more organization really from Kate and a bit more help with the kids than just poor Jenny - that's a lot to put on one person who's just coming on vacation with you - "here can you please keep my eight kids in line while we have the ceremony". Maybe there could have been something for the kids to do during the ceremony (disposable cameras to take pictures or something quiet) or practicing before hand or something like that. I think she had the right idea - she said something about not caring who stood where or whatever. I also liked that each "group" in their family had their own layer of the cake. Thought that was cool.

A bit OT - my laptop died this weekend. My poor IT guy at work is trying to fix my other computer but I didn't realize how much I DIS and other stuff at home until I was home for three days without a computer! No printing coupons, no checking out deals.....ugh! :surfweb: So I'll keep checking in when I can at work. :goodvibes

We did the Keys to the Kingdom last November, and it was money well spent. I saw a tour at the Epcot, and I thought, that would be as boring as heck, I don't know why, but it seemed really boring.

Where the Gosselins at WDW recently?
or was the person asking about it, from when they were there in the summer of 2008?

Come on over to my board I moderate and do a trip report.

I'm pretty sure they were talking about the show. I wasn't paying that much attention at first, then I perked up when I realized that they were talking about JK8. LOLOL

I just started reading your trip report today! :cool1:

Missed you Madge!!! I want to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour so bad and someday I will!! :thumbsup2

Today I went to our local grocery store. I saw on a magazine rack john and kate with their kids. One of the boys had a cast on his hand. Does anyone know what happened to him?

Man, is Jon just stupid?!?! :confused3 If he's not cheating on Kate then their PR people really need to teach him how to stay out of these sticky situations. If he is cheating, then he's just a _______________ (fill in your own expicative). I really hope for the kids sake things are not what the media is portraying.

:scared1::scared1:

Fasten your seatbelts everyone. We will be encountering extreme turbulence!

No kidding!

That's exactly what I thought! How dumb do you have to be to know that you already got caught (even though it appeared innocent) at a bar once but to do it again? THEN to get in a car with a woman who is not your wife at 2am? HELLOOOOOO? Did you read his ridiculous statement about how that woman is a friend who wanted to see his car? Where the heck is their PR person? Who let him send in such a stupid statement? I sincerely hope it's not what they're making it out to be for the kids sake. Kate's going to be furious when she sees the cover of US Weekly!:scared1:

I just know that if it were my DH and he was at a bar at 2am while I was away on a business trip, I think I'd have a few "choice" words with him!!

Uh, yeah. I agree. I think Jon's a wuss anyway. Young, immature and a wuss for being talked to by Kate the way she talks to him sometimes. A lot happened to him very fast--a lot of children/responsibility and fame. Obviously he wasn't ready for it unless this is some sort of fluke. You end the marriage first and then have girlfriends--not the other way around. :headache:
Who has 8 kids and fools around? She'll take him for all he's worth for sure.

Whether it is true or not isn't going to matter much. It is on the cover of a tabloid magazine, the damage is done. Fun for the older kids to see that in the grocery store, not. He'll have a hard time repairing his reputation.
