I have not seen Kate slap Jon out of anger. It has always been when they have been playful. If she b!tch slapped him, then yes, I would say she is being abusive. But that is not what I have seen in the show. Every now and then my DH smacks me on the butt (not hard) and it is not out of anger, it is being playful. Have my kids seen him do it, I'm sure they have since my son one day walked up to me said hi and smacked me on the butt. We are just a family who smacks butts, not as punishment but the way athletes do. I certainly do not considered my self or my kids abused.
I missed where they denied having a nanny. What happened to the Vietnamese nanny they've mentioned?
About Jon's statement...duh! I'm sure he knows better. Looks like he's trying to shake his "character," only he's really the father of eight kids and a husband. I wonder if people still think Kate's the bad parent. Anyone see anyone condoning Jon's behavior because he's married to Kate (I don't read the anti or pro blogs)? I don't even really think Jon's a bad parent for this, but I do think he's a stupid man.
And, Madge, since you brought it up...just for old times' sake:

So... how long ago were those uncomfortable and forced vow renewals?
OMG. I hope not. Why on earth would they put themselves in this light? Kate the Shrew and Jon the Party Boy? I can't imagine Zondervan (a Christian book publisher) is thrilled with this alleged cheating.I have to admit, a tiny part of me thought about the old adage, "there's no such thing as bad publicity." It couldn't have been done on purpose, could it?
I think the only way they're going to be able to spin this as going through hard times and getting through it is if they take a break and refocus. I don't know that people will buy into this if they keep on as though nothing's wrong. But then again, it must not have. If Jon & Kate split up, isn't that the end of the "the show is our life, our life is the show" and the countless speaking engagements and book signings? Doesn't this totally negate the validity of their "message?" Or maybe it can be spun in a way that shows that their marriage went through hard times, but they gpt through it.
It will make their interviews all that much more uncomfortable to watch in Season 5.

LOL!!!!
Seriously, I am laughing so hard right now because that is sooooo funny! Tag fairy, come out come out wherever you are!!![]()
I don't remember which show it was, but Jon and Kate said they have a helper that they wouldn't call a nanny. someone else here will remember when it was. it was towards the end of this season, I think
condoning? not exactly. not really at all, actually. I have only skimmed so far, but they're pretty harsh on what Jon has done from what I can tell. And even harsher on the people that seem to be commenting on some of these articles .. some of the true sheeple are in rare form, or the trolls have come out to play. (probably both)
I'm not sure I agree with you on the bad parent thing. If this is as the article says it is .. Jon's wife is literally across the country and he decides to go out drinking at 11:00pm? What is he, 21? That's what college kids do. He's a parent. His wife is out of town on business. It's not acceptable (to me) for him to be out on the town when he's the only parent in town. What if there was an emergency with one of the kids?
Or even more significant .. what if he was drinking and driving? Bad parenting? Maybe not. Horrible example? Danger to others? Absolutely.
The pity party is over. Jon and Kate are reaping what they've sown. Jon Gosselin needs to get over himself and start acting like an adult.
love. it.![]()
I know, I thought this thread, was just about dead.I'm here, OhMari! Wow, look what I almost missed!!!!!![]()
At this point (if season 5 continues), I really wonder about their contracts. What do they stand to lose if they pull out now? Yes, money isn't everything, but in this world, it's a whole lot. Would they lose the house, hired help, car(s)? If they lost that, I wonder if they have the finances to continue providing for a family of ten.
Someone mentioned Zondervan. Do you think Jon is also under contract with them? Kate has been doing the tours, mostly, and she hasn't been directly involved in any (real) scandal. Would they have a say about his behavior? Well, I mean no one can really tell him what to do or not do on his own time, but you know what I mean.
Madge, do you think you can get to Kate's next tour stop, please? Thanks!

I'm sure TLC will show what they have, and they will probably do a big birthday party for the tups in May.
I tried to find one of the links, where it said, Jon and a buddy have been going to the bar all week. They said he comes at 11:00, leaves and comes back at 2:00 a.m. I'm sure Jon thinks just because he addressed it once, everyone should let it go. But wait till tv picks up the story, it's only in print now, I'm betting by tomorrow every tv tabloid show will have it.

The man needs a job and a life, its like he is at the bottom of the well treding water and no way out.
di
I'm not so sure about that ... I don't know that it sounds all that improbable to me. Check out the scene, see if it's worth coming back? I knew guys like that in high school, back in the day .. they thought their mere presence was gift to everyone. That's really weird. Kind of lends itself to the "fake" theory, but it's still an odd thing to do.
I wonder why he hasn't gone to get a job if he feels like he needs one. They can afford to hire a sitter, nanny, helper, whatever while he works during the day since the kids are in school now. Once they hit first grade, all eight will be in school full days. Kate can harp on him to stay home, but if he's a grown man, and if he really wants a job, he can go get one. Unfortunately for their family (including him and Kate), it looks like he's taking the frat boy route to getting a life.
Selfishness.About this new car Jon has, I heard it's a 2-seater? So when did he get it, who paid for it and why would you get a 2 seater?

Selfishness.
But then again, car dealerships tend to give celebrity vehicles to drive for a fee that their car salesman pay.
I'm betting that is why Jon is using the excuse to show everyone his car. He has been driving vans the last 5 years and now he has a new toy to play with.
