Jon & Kate were not responsible for the treatment that any other spectator may or may not have received at the event.

The Globetrotters invited the Gosselins to the show, and then invited them back stage where the Globetrotters presented the Gosselins with gifts. If the other audience members felt slighted, then perhaps they should complain to the Globetrotters manager or agent.

I'm not a fan of the show. Used to be. No more. Can't stand the abuse of Jon but that's another story. I'm sure there are producers who call around and say, hey, if you get us free tickets, you'll get on the show, so Hershey Park/Chocolate World, Sesame Place, Southwest, Globetrotters, etc, have all done this. I'm sure J&K have make suggestions as well, but it's the nature of that type of show. I'm sure the Little People's cruise down the Mississippi was a freebee. Made me want to book a trip....

what's the real deal about Kates parents too? In the book (yes I've read their book) they mention something about it, but no explanation. I remember in the episode where they went to Hawaii to renew vows that Kate said " We wanted our first wedding in Hawaii, but the family wasn't willing to go" maybe that's why, she was mad about that?
Because, you know, everyone should have an extra few grand to go to a wedding in Hawaii.

Did anyone see Table for 12? They were all so nice to each other, joking around, no wife yelling. It was a nice change of pace to watch them. They seemed very balanced and they had 2 more kids than J&K.

I wrote a blog entry about Aunt Jodi's video back in August -- and even though Jodi is no longer on the show, that entry still gets hundreds of hits a week. There will be an occasional comment, and last week someone posted that it is a matter of public record about some of what went on with Jodi. No idea if it's true or not. If that is true, and someone can produce evidence to support one side or the other .. why isn't that all over the internet? :confused3

That's what I thought, but someone said that Kate said the Globetrotters invited them. I imagine they could have made an excuse not to go, but probably TLC needed material. I just can't imagine Kate thinking "Hey, the Globetrotters are in town. Let's ask for free tickets!"

As far as "free tickets" to feature a destination -- as has been mentioned, it's cheaper to give the family 10 free tickets than to launch a national advertising campaign. Except for Disney, but they have given free vacations to other "multiple" families as well (I can remember when the McCaugheys went). Also, I think it's interesting that Disney has been running commercials of their own during J&K+8.

I've noticed this ALOT with TLC lately. In the episode of Table for 12, the father says, "now we need some Ragu" and they literally zoomed in on the jar of sauce. Who says that?.. lol I would have said, I need some sauce. haha
Also during the day during a Baby Story, they are always getting shots of PAMPERS in the people's houses and they even have the parents say something like "can you go get some pampers?"
Usually things like that must be blocked out or something when they get it on camera. Maybe that's TLC's new way of promoting products that support their shows.

Ok so why were they in Beverly Hills??? Does PA not have places to eat? (not meaning that to sound rude - I would think they're there for a talk show or something else) :rolleyes1 Part of me thinks it's weird that they're not getting this kind of "coverage" when they're at home, at least not that I've seen so maybe they needed to go somewhere else to get some footage of them out actually at the same place, same time kind of thing? It certainly wasn't Earth shattering video by any means, but still weird none the less.

As for the high heels at the museum, I thought that was weird too - of course I work at a fire house with a bunch of guys and have been a preschool teacher and realize how unpractical it is to have high heels on with little fingers on the floor that might be steped on or having to run after a kid or walk on a playground or things like that. When you're out shopping or something and you like them and it makes you feel good, that's great. Out for a day with your kids doesn't strike me as a "heels" day but that's just me.

Oh geeze
I see things like this and I think.... "YOU DIDN'T USE A COUPON?" :rotfl:

Because Kate loves the spotlight!!

The only time i ever saw women wearing heals in places that you normally don't, was when I went to Disneyland Paris iin 1998. Every single woman had on heels, it was so odd to me.

We could all win a prize on our local radio station today!!!

The question of the day:

"The family from TCL's J&K+8, what is their last name?"

:rotfl:At least one of us would win depending on who got through first...too bad I'm at work and can't call. :rolleyes1

But because of DVR's/TIVO advertisers are now putting the "commercials" inside the shows. Yesterday (might have been Friday's episode) on Days of Our Lives, there was a "commercial" for Tyson Anytizers in the middle of a scene. Now that's BAD!

I couldn't help but wonder who was watching the children? the non-Nanny? :lmao:

no clue why Jon & Kate are in Beverly Hills. I wasn't even looking for Jon & Kate stuff, I was just doing my daily read of TMZ and that fell into my lap. :upsidedow

Chocolate World is free to visit. It is just outside the park. I stop there every time I visit Hershey Park.

I thought Jon said in his Salt Lake City (or wherever) that Kate's parents aren't involved with any of their grandchildren. My impression was that they weren't even very involved with their own children growing up.

that's true, I never thought of it that way.

oooh, hmmm.. I remember in one episode, she mentioned them and said they "weren't involved but that didn't mean they didn't love each other"... What grandparents wouldn't want to see their own grandchildren?!
I can't keep my mother away from my house, she has to see my daughter at least once a week!

Hmmm... I'm not sure what kind of heels she had on, but I often wear boots with heels when I'm out and about, and on day trips in the winter. The summer, it's mainly flip flops, but the winter, almost always boots with heels:confused3

That has mentioned many times about Kate's parents and I have had the same feeling as a pp mentioned about it seems they weren't that involved in their own kids lives either. Of course we're only hearing one side, so I'm sure Kate's parent's may have a different opinion, but I think a lot of it stems from her childhood, because she's ALWAYS saying how they want their kids to have life experiences ect., because Jon did, and they also want it, because she really didn't at all.

Also, ppl. have been asking about Beth and Bob, again who really knows, but Jon said in his Utah interview that they are still pretty good friends with them, and that Bob had been texting him during the day of the interview, so I'm guessing they could very well still be in their lives:confused3

LOL it was a little weird on the show the other night just showing the kids with no supervision - like they were home alone or something....I don't know how that will work with the "helper" not being shown on camera. When Kate talked about it, it almost sounded like she didn't know why she didn't want to be on tv

That's my DH's mom. Even now that we're 1,000 miles away, she'll make several trips a year to visit the grandbabies. My parents (divorced so 2 grandmas and 2 grandpas) have little to no contact with their grandkids. My mom has come to visit once and when we lived close really only came by on major holidays/birthdays. My dad's only seen DS4 when he was 9 months old at my wedding. He's never attempted to see DS2. That's just the family I grew up with...
