Totally had no idea and missed Dr. Phil. Any clips yet?
I have no idea.

you didn't miss much, IMO .. Dr. Phil blasted the publicist, Kate's worried .. very worried, and there were a couple of other people on the panel that said pretty much the same thing. Nothing new. LOL.

It looks to me that she has gotten veneers on her teeth. I think that would make the area between your nose and mouth different.

I thought botox around the eyes.

above is a snippet from Kate on Dr. Phil yesterday
below is a clip (2nd video down on the page) of J and K on Dr. Phil nearly two years ago.

I can't believe the transformation this gal has gone through. It's not just physical... but her lips are something. I can't stop looking at the center line (of her teeth) being so off. Isn't she wearing invisalign? I didn't notice it until her lips were puffed up.
She was so cute to me in the early clip. I caught the tummy tuck episode recently and thought they were all darling. She looks like Mommy Spice now. Seriously put her and Posh side by side; frightening! ;)

I just watched both clips from Dr. Phil.
If the younger kids were 3, Dr. Phil was giving pointers to Jon and Kate, telling them how they needed rules and professional help.:lmao:

So, that meant last year the nannies were suppose to help.
Anyone remember seeing "Nanny's for Hire" helping them out.
I remember Kate doing interviews trying to find help, but she didn't like anyone.

Has to be botox, and I would agree with the veneers. She used to have lines on her forehead. When she talked there was nothing. I know she had braces (FREE Thanks to the tax payers in Pa.) when she was pregnant with the six.

how does one get free braces from the state???

how does one get free braces from the state???

The whole family was on state assistants and Medicare.
They were receiving free health Insurance from the state.
I paid $4,000.00 for braces for my son, plus paid for Kate's teeth to look pretty.

How many tax payers are in the state of PA? I'm just trying to figure out exactly how much you paid for Kate's braces.
I'm sorry, but I just really don't get why ppl. just can't be grateful for what they have? God forbid something ever happens to you (the general you) and you need help from the state you live in... I just don't get it. I've personally never had any kind of government/state assistant, but I'm grateful that I'm well enough off that I don't need to, and I don't mind helping out a little for others that aren't as well off. I'm grateful that there's a system in place in case I or anyone else I care about falls on hard times. I think I've just heard way too much of the complaining about this kind of stuff lately (especially with the new mom of 14.) It just really bothers me that ppl. act like they only care about themselves. Why can't we just be happy/grateful for what we have:confused3

wow, really? I never knew Medicare covered cosmetic dental work. Why do they cover cosmetic work? That sucks for me...I paid $5000 for DD19's braces and now I'm paying another $5000 for DD11. DD8's braces are coming up in a few years too...she sucked her thumb :sad2:

eta: I'm curious how you know that Kate was on Medicare/state insurance that covered her braces. I know Jon was out of work at some point around the time the babies were born...when exactly did he lose his job and they got on Medicare/state insurance?

I remember on the braces episode (when the twins went in for orthodontia consults) that Kate said she went to the same office and got her braces off before the babies were born. How long before the babies were born did she get on Medicare/state insurance? How do you know for sure that Medicare covered the braces? I'm thinking that it's possible she had the braces on before the babies were conceived (not on assistance at that point I think) and had them off before they were born (on assistance at that point?) That doesn't necessarily mean that Medicare/state assistance paid for those braces.

Not that it really matters a whole lot though...I was on Medicaid at one point in my life and I needed my wisdom teeth removed. It was covered by Medicaid so I had them removed. If I had not been on Medicaid, I would have had to pay out of pocket. I don't see anything wrong with using assistance when needed. I paid into it more than I ever took from it!

Personally, I'm so very grateful for everything that my family and I have. Do I still get ticked off when people are not working and making choices that they think are best for them or their family at the expense of someone else? Heck yeah I do. I've had family that had babies and were on assistance and continued to have babies to stay on or get more assistance. Did I share my feelings with them? Heck yeah! If I wanted kids, I'll have them. I don't really want to pay for yours. Get a job and support yourself like the rest of us is just my general feeling I guess. It's different for everyone though. I could never just sit by and be on assistance knowing someone else is paying for my family. Now I was on assistance when I was pregnant with our first son because I wasn't married to DH so his insurance wouldn't carry me, too old to be on my parent's insurance. I was working full time as a nanny none the less so I was making ok money but not nearly enough to afford the bills of having a baby. Would I change it? No - I was working full time and the minute I gave birth I was off everything. DH's insurance picked up the baby and I just waited until I got a "real" job to get my own insurance. It's just hard for me to see people, like the mom that had 14 kids, continue to have children with no job or source of income. I'd like to keep a bit of my money or truly help out another family that can't get a job in this economy or has a child with a disease or something else. I'm all for helping others and things like that, really I am. I still manage to get upset though when people like J&K have two babies, decide to have six more (they could have had less - not saying I agree with that, I'm just saying) and then decided not to go back to work (at least Kate). J&K could have certainly "given back" time and again either to the state of PA or to other families and I guess I just don't see them doing that. (again, I know we only see what they decide to show) They could certainly have bought a smaller house and developed an organization that pays for premie care at the hospital where the tups were born or set up a scholorship for others to attend a local private or preschool they prefer or just donating money (like proceeds from the books) to different organizations.

Now if that makes me not greatful for what I have, I guess that I am. I love my family, house, job, everything really for the most part about my life. Would I like to be Kate? Some days I'd love it honestly. I've taught preschool and worked in child development centers so the number of kids isn't a concern for me really. Havnig people in my personal life? I'd like to think that I'd address some of the concerns that have been addressed here on this thread or other places instead of ignoring or sweeping them under the rug. Would people complain about me? Probably...I'm not nearly as cute at Kate, grumpy some days and get snippy with my husband every now and again. Will I ever have the chance to try it out? Probably not on the coldest day in a very hot place...so I'm not spending too much time thinking about it. I understand it's their money and they can do with what they'd please...it's still frustrating. I guess I'd like to think people in general would "pay it forward" kind of a thing. If Kate wanted her name out there, why not have a "Mommy of the Month or Year or something" contest and give the "winning" mommy a prize of some kind (from a sponsor on the show or something)?? That's a more positive way (I think) to get her name out there and may give her more time home with the kids...that's another peeve of mine but we'll save that for another day :rolleyes1

Sorry for dumping that out here...I just had to get it off my chest. Thanks for listening! :flower3:

Here in California it's really hard to get braces paid by Medi-cal. It has to be a really bad case in order for them to pay. I work on the high school campus for kids that need help beyond education and we see kids in and out all day that need dental care. They are lucky they can get their cavities filled.

Same here in Michigan. The kids can barely get their teeth cleaned or cavity filled. It is really bad!

I don't see how PA can afford to pay for Kate's braces if they can't save money at Banana Republic Factory Stores. ;)

Completely OT, but I got DME docs today!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

She does look a little different to me, maybe the upper lip is fuller, but I just can't pin point it. Anyway, I do know the Dr Phil's makeup people are fantastic. I have seen guests on there that look beautiful and when you see their clips from home or whatever, they look nothing like on the show. Maybe that is part of it. But I agree she does look different.

Didn't Kate go back to work for a while after the tups were born? I'm pretty sure she did.

Just because you personally don't see them "giving back" as much as YOU think they should be giving back, doesn't mean they aren't.

Yes, she did go back to work after the tups were born for a while (on Saturdays.) She had to stop because it wasn't working. Honestly, Jon just couldn't handle all of them by himself (and that's no offense to him at all; I personally think he's a wonderful Dad, although at times snippy.) Also, it's not like she could have gone back to work full time...can you imagine how much daycare would have been for 8 children? Not worth her working that's for sure; and while she is a nurse and could have worked nights while Jon was home with the kids; when would she have slept? She wouldn't have been able to sleep in the daytime with the kids. I don't really see a better decision for them.
