Jon and Kate Plus 8 official Thread, Part 2!!

I heard Kate say last episode or the one before that that the kids would be changing schools.

I am not a Kate hater, but I hated her behavior in last night's episode. What is with giving Hannah her own room?

I haven't watched it yet, but she gave Hannah her own room?! I thought it was going to be Alexis (she wakes early). If it was Hannah, that's definite favoritism! I think she's definitley coddled.

They said the reason they gave Hannah her own room is because she "gets migraines and sleeps in a lot" and Alexis and Leah are sharing a room because "they both get up early".

Actually, I think it was because Alexis and Leah wake up early, and this wakes up Hannah, causing the migraines.

With eight kids, who can blame them for trying to eliminate some issues caused by spacial restrictions

I haven't been reading this thread as closely lately, so I'm curious as to how you found out their home address (?) Did they mention it on the show yesterday? I haven't watched it yet, but did DVR it for later.

I was in their neck of the woods last week -- drove up to Lancaster with my friend from Aldan. She's never seen the show before -- I tried to describe the "problems" people have with the show (product placement, free trips, etc.) I must tell you, when you try to describe it to someone who's never seen the show and has no opinion of Kate, it sounds ridiculous.

The street address shows up in Ella's link. I just figured it was in PA, so I searched it.

Following up on my last post, because I am curious.

Ellen -- was their address published somewhere or did they say it on the show? Or did the psychos on GWOP track them down?

If you click on the link, it shows the address!

Did anyone thing Kate's face looked 'different' last night when they where sitting in the chair. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but her face just looked different. Around her eyes, or around her mouth area. Even my daughter said it. Anyone else notice it?

Yes, it's from the top of her mouth up - it doesn't move as much. Maybe botox?:confused3

And how did people find out in the first place that it was the specific house they bought? I can see recognizing it from the show, but I don't understand how people found out the exact town, street and address.

I'm not blaming you or Ellen. I'm just wondering how this information got out. Did they give their address on the show?

My DDs (8 & 9) were able to find the radio station link (previously posted in this thread, too) all by themselves.

I thought I was the only one who thought her hair looked ridiculous! I hate when people have those huge chunk hairlights in their hair, reminds me of a skunk or something. Also, I'm not sure if this has been posted or not but here are pics of the Gosselin's new home.

Not positive where it is, but I'm pretty sure it's in PA. This house is definitely their new because the windows in the kitchen are the same as the ones in the commerical for their "new house" episode! Sorry if it's already been posted!

I love this show. I think if Kate wasn't as OCD their house would be an absolute disaster. I have two kids and it always looks like a bomb went off; I can't imagine having 8.

I thought she looked great last night...I thought they both had lost a little weight; but it wasn't like they looked awful before. I just thought her face looked like it did from the episodes where they showed them pre-kids.

I didn't get the four hours on the fridge either, but maybe it was worse in person than it was coming across on TV. :crazy2:

I just went over to that blog...wow it's nasty! If you don't like them don't watch...but to watch and then devote a ton of time to complaining about them. I don't get it.

Oh, gotcha. I have no idea how anyone found out. They didn't mention it on the show. I told my husband it looks like it is still in PA, plus the fact that they were able to drive there in what appeared to be a short amount of time. I was also wondering what you are.

I mostly lurk on this thread because I go back and forth in my love/hate for Kate.

However, she was very ugly last night and I don't mean physically. I can't imagine for the life of me cleaning a frig and letting my kids bottoms go unwiped. I also thought it was arrogant when she was at the sink and looked out the window and said "as far as you can see, it's all mine, it's all mine" as she waved her hands over the land outside. I was very "queen of the kingdom" to me and made her seem ungrateful for how fortunate she has become.

I have never had a problem with the Roloff's big additions because it is their house and they have had it for years, I understand their desire to add space to a home they love.

Jon and Kate on the other hand have let their cable show and semi-celebrity status completely go to their heads, in my opinion. They are not nearly as sympathetic as they used to be and after last night's episode, I won't feel bad for them when ( not if ) the whole thing all comes tumbling down on them.

I personally believe their will be long term repercussions from their show and that the kids have some behavioral issues with hurting each other. I don't think it is normal for siblings to contantly hit each other.

Also, the hate coming out of Kate's mouth during the whole master bedroom scene was so cold and harsh to me. I can't imagine my parents telling me that I was never allowed in their room or ever saying that to my daughter when she was young. Plus going on and on about how Mommy and Daddy need their privacy, ugh! So unnecessary!

I hope they are happy in their new home but it is pretty obvious that Kate will never ever really be "happy", I just don't think it is in her psyche to be.

Just my opinion,

MsA

I'm normally Kate defender but the bedroom speech and the whole thing about the kitchen. I felt bad for the orginial owners. Also, I wonder how long the bedroom thing will last if one of the kids gets sick.

I agree. I too am usually a pretty big Kate defender, but the bedroom speech really did bother me. I mean come on, really your 8 kids are NEVER allowed to come in your room??? That's rediculous, and I certainly hope it doesn't end up happening. I understand the need for privacy, but these are your kids, and they're 4 and 8 please. I can get her not wanting it to be turned into another play room/tv room, but that's all she had to say... it's not that they're never allowed in there- or at least I would hope. It would already freak me out that my bedroom would be on a different floor than my kids, but I guess it was that way with their last house too.

Also, Also:) did Kate really ask Cara to wipe one of the little kids butt??? Yuck! I've always felt like I have a small glimmer of what their life might be like as I have a singleton and twins the exact same age apart as J & K. I wouldn't ask my DD to wipe one of the twins butt.

I got the feeling some of the yuck was from the house being empty for a bit. I haven't followed the move obsessively, so I don't know about its former life.

However, if the former owners did leave it as it was on the show, I don't feel bad for them at all. Kate would have called it out if no cameras were there...why change when they are there?

I am normally not a complainer about Kate, but I did not like her in last night's episode.
1. 4 hours for cleaning a fridge is a bit obsessive.
2. The bedroom thing just turned me off completely. I understand the need for privacy, but forbidding your children to EVER step foot in there is extreme. I cannot imagine forbidding my kids from our bedroom. We love our snuggle time in bed with them in the mornings.

I only caught the second half (missed the bedroom), but I don't see why everyone is so amazed at four hours of cleaning. You do realize how mold can effect people, right? I would be on my hands and knees scrubbing until every last bit was gone, no matter how long it took me!!!

We thought we had mold once, and I was so grossed out!!! I even started looking for a new house! Turns out it wasn't, but I don't think deep cleaning the fridge was odd, especially in those conditions. :crazy2:

Last night was a SNL spoof of themselves right? They can't be serious.

-Hannah gets her own room because she sleeps in or gets migraine headaches? What about kindergarten in 7 months? One girl throws up, one has night terrors, stress maybe?
-She asked one of the 8 yr old twins to wipe a boy's butt who will be 5 in May?
-She wouldn't wipe either of the dirty butts but called Jon in from outside to do it? Who wipes butts at pre-school?
-She worried about the fridge for four hours when there was "poop" on the floor. They are all obsessed with poop.
-She loudly forbids the kids to ever enter her bedroom with a threat of "severity" and insists Jon back her up. They'll be grown up so soon.
- She "hadn't thought about" the 6000+ square feet of house being challenging to keep up with the kids in?
-She stated at one point that she "knows where none of the kids are, and it is kind of nice." I know where she was coming from, but who says this? Does she not have an un-uttered thought?

I'm not sure this is real. It must be staged for people who are "against" them or whatever. They have to know they are filming Maddy repeatedly kick one of her little sisters. Maybe it helps ratings? I just don't know. My girls are done watching for now as one was teary and stomping mad over the master bedroom dictatorship, and one has lost privilages for calling Kate a psycho witch with a "b" in my earshot. Not accepatable around here. We do love American Idol!

I actually don't read the GWOP site - waste of time. However, the address did appear with the link from earlier in this site and I was curious about the true size of the house, so I googled it, it came up with a Gosselin's blog that of course I started reading! :rotfl: It had the link that I posted. That link gives more info which I found interesting so I thought I would share. :)

I've watched this show from the beginning and have enjoyed it in the past. I've read many blogs about "Kate Haters" and how mean spirited folks can be toward Kate. However, last night was a turning point for me. It was too much.

Kate comes across as pretty hateful. The bedroom speech, bossing Jon around to tell the kids not to come into the bedroom - completely over the top.

Yelling for him to come inside so he could wipe the kids while she's obsessed over cleaning the fridge?

"This is all mine - as far as I can see"; is she the mighty Queen of England? "We need this house for the kids". No, they don't need it. They want it, but don't need it. It might lessen the stress of so many people in a small area, but believe me, this large home will have challenges of its own.

I still wish they would do a "Wife Swap" with Mrs. Duggar or Mrs. Roloff. I think it's a splendid idea.
