Never again will we travel to Florida in the winter. Jan 29th through Feb 8th and it was still crowded, just freezing and crowded!
19 degrees? what is wrong with Florida? Sunshine state? really?
we spent 10 days huddled together in crowds as show after show was cancelled for the rain and plant beds were covered with blankets, the hot tub at POFQ was issuing fastpasses, there were so many annoying school groups waiting to get in and be annoying. I cant believe how realistic the weather was on the Everest ride. Every time we rode it we all said, it really did feel like we were at 29,000 feet. Those amazing Imagineers!!

We had a great trip and did get alot of rides in during the rainstorms and on the realy cold days, but the weather did suck,
Did I mention my daughters dance team came in fourth for POMS and fifth for Jazz at the dance competition? We are so very very proud!!
Go Mountain Vista Golden Eagles!!

Congrats for your daughter!!!!

Wow, I think this is one of the few times I will ever say that I was glad to be in Colorado instead of Florida! haha!!!:thumbsup2

Glad you had a good trip though!!!

But Jon, you don't answer the "real" question. Did your wife give you "the look" because you planned the trip during the cold weather? ;)

Seriously, I hope she did appreciate your hard work and congratulations to your daughter's dance team.

I got the look every day. She would glare at me from under her newly purchased coat hood and grumble the words, "I F'N HATE THIS!!"
I felt awful for her, she hates the cold soooo much, however all of my planning really did work awesome. the meals were great. timing was impeccable considering transportation and all. she was impressed.

DS and I were there, too, during the "Deep Freeze". I was talking to friends here in Ft Collins, and they kept saying, "you know its supposed to get to 70 today here!" But, as I say, freezing day in Disney World is better than ANY day at work!

Glad to know that you had a great trip despite of the weather and crowds. Congrats to your daughter.

Have a nice day. :)

We were there the last week of Jan. and although the evenings were chilly, it was never COLD -

As, I never had to shovel the walkway to the bus, or stomp through a snowbank to reach the entrance to Spaceship Earth, etc.

For us it was a nice break from Michigan weather. I'm glad you had a nice trip in spite of the less-than-great weather! :)

I think we just get used to our COLD being zero humidity, the kind of snow we can blow off of our car, but Florida was FREEZING COLD. Im a big guy and like it low in the temps and I was still soooooo COLD. the wind and freezing temps made us miserable if we were outside very long at all.
We took a boat on Feb 3rd from WL to Contemp. and almost froze to death. Im sure Michigan is COLDER but Florida was COLD for Colorado folks. I always thought the weather here was really the best in the world, Now im sure of it.

Trust me those of us who lived here didn't enjoy it either. When I look at the damage the cold did here in my yard it is a shame.

If you thought it was cold just imagine those of us that are used to 70-80 degrees this time of year felt.

Now we are dealing with the possibility of brush fires.

This totally makes sense. I never really thought about it being that cold PLUS humidity. Yeah DEFINITELY different than Colorado!!! :rotfl:

Hey jsoren11 - I didn't mean to be offensive or sarcastic; just describing how it was for me :) Our first night there was definitely coat weather, but it did warm up later in the week, particularly during the day. That night we took the boat from Port Orleans Riverside to Downtown Disney and it was shivery.

It was great to see flowers in bloom!

I have some family in Colorado and they love it there, too!
