Joining two ADRs to ensure sitting together

So, my friend and I have two separate ADRs for the same exact time at Tusker House. She didn't decide to travel to Disney until after we had booked and made our ADRs. Mine is for 4 and hers is for 2. We really want to all sit together. I've tried to change mine to 6 but nothing is available. Do you all think if I call the dining reservation number with both confirmation numbers that they'll be able to hook them together since the combined number doesn't change? I want to make sure that my little ones sit with her little one during the character lunch since it will be much more fun for them. Or is it a problem with having tables that seat 6 vs. 4 in Tusker House? Anyone else ever do something similar?

Probably not. The issue isn't that the number doesn't change, but that instead of wanting a 4-top and a 2-top you now need a larger table. It's generally hard to shove tables around at character meals.

Yes, I have done this. Last August my DS and DDIL decided to join us after I had MDE many of our ADR's. I added ADR's for 2 at Akershus, Rose and Crown, and Narcoosses. We were lucky and each time we were seated together.

You can ask, but be prepared to have two separate tables. This can happen even if you make your ADR for the number of people in your party, which also has happened to us.

We had this same situation and I just kept looking for a table for six. Finally, about four days before the ADR date a table for six opened up and I grabbed it. :)

We had two separate reservations at CRT, one for 4 and one for 5 at breakfast that were 10 minutes apart. When we got there and checked in we asked if we could sit together and they were able to accommodate us.

How early did you show up? Did you have to wait much longer past your ADR time?

I think our reservations were at 8:25a and 8:35a. We arrived by 8:15a and they started us through the process right away...we didn't wait at all. They had us go in and meet Cinderella and then straight to our table for 9. It was a very easy and quick process. No trouble at all being seated together at the same table. But I'm guessing this is easiest at breakfast.

WE did this at lunch. We were really happy!
