Joining for Grandgatherings

Trying to work out how to get Illuminations grandgathering dinner. we are only 6 have people joined together inorder to qualify for a gathering were would I look for that if it is possible?

I thought that you needed 8 people in order to be considered a grandgathering. I am not sure if you can join with other parties to form the 8. I thought that you had to be under the same reservation. I would be interested in finding this out too.

yup you do have to be eight that much I know. I don't know if you all have to be on the same reservation I saw it say 80% of your party must be staying on Disney Property. Which we are so I'm wondering if a second family wanted to join us for dinner if we could do that or is there some rule?

I called ask asked about something and the CM said that you do have to have eight in your party staying at Disney but they can "link" the reservations to show that you are all together.

I need to know if they will handle making our ADR's because it sure would be nice.

So then I just have to find someone who is crazy enough to want to have dinner with my family of 6 for Dec 3/09 Illuminations.
