Joining AAA to get discount

thanks for the info. I'm going to look into the AAA membership. Also am curious about rental car coverage. We always rent a car and the price for rental insurance is almost as much as renting the car. We are almost considering criving but the airfare is low right now and driving from Michigan just seems too draining on us. princess:

for 50 bucks a year its worth a piece of mind! They will tow you. They will change your tire. Go to the travel office and get all types of travel books. More maps then you will ever want or need for "free." AAA even maps out trips for you if your driving. (sort of the old school map quest ;) ) I'm always amazed when people dont have AAA! And it seems like the people who need AAA are the ones who never have it!

then can someone tell me for sure if i can or can not change it and get a disney promo if it's better but comes out later? guess i could just cancel and redo but want tomake sure i won't lose anything in the process.

i figured at 15% would save me almost $400 so it would be worth it for me if that's the way it works

Just be aware some AAA offices charge a $25 PER PERSON cancellation fee as soon as the deposit is applied (in addition to the 45 day WDW cancellation policy). Ask about the policy before you book.

As others mentioned, you can book your package with AAA and ask your agent to switch to a code if one becomes available, but you cannot modify the ressie directly with WDW. If you don't want a package (tickets/dining) book the AAA room only rate directly with WDW.

We booked a room at POR for May through an AAA travel agent expecting a discount of at least 10%, but the agent told us there are no discounts available, we have to pay the rack rate, which is $155, not including tax. Anybody else?

I've booked through AAA three years straight, and have saved no less than $200 on a week long stay at the Polynesian. However, we book our stay at least 6 to 8 months in advance, the reason being, Disney gives only so many rooms to AAA at each resort at the discounted rate. Once the discounted rooms are booked, that's it. I understand your disappointment, but it shouldn't be with AAA or Disney, it's simply business.

We did book months in advance. I've had problems with AAA in the past as well (not related to Disney). I guess we should have used a different TA.
