Johnny Depp Trial

Thank god for Amber Heard!!! She is setting the extremely dangerous #metoo movement back decades. I am not a misogynist but our legal system needs to remain based in the principle of "innocent until proven guilty". #metoo dangerously asks the jurors, public, internet trolls, etc. to blindly believe one person over another, based on their word, without any evidence whatsoever. I understand that the burden of proof often works against the victim in a he said, she said situation; but the alternative of having a persons word taken on faith alone and falsely convicting / cancelling a person is far worse. The legal system has rules in place to prevent mere accusation alone from convicting a person. This is one of the reasons we have the best legal system in the world. The same standard should be held to the media and the internet, there must be proof before a person's life can be ruined.

I just wrote and deleted a bunch about the #metoo movement. But I'll just leave it here....I'm stunned anyone who would want to set back women's experiences and awareness of sexual assault and workplace harassment back "decades".

In a general sense, I don't think Heard is doing any damage to anyone but herself. I also think that Depp doesn't come off great either. They sound like 2 terrible people imo. Perhaps someone was "worse", but it's all a very toxic, sad situation where everyone should be ashamed of their actions and words...imo.

That's not what Yensid's said. I doubt there's a desire to "set back women's experiences and awareness of sexual assault and workplace harassment back "decades"." What Yensid said was that the #MeToo movement was what needed to be set back decades. Don't confuse the movement with "women's experiences and awareness of assault and workplace harassment."

The rest of Yensid's post stated very well that no one's word should be good enough to destroy another person's life. That word should lead to an investigation, but the final verdict should be based upon evidence. That's the difference between justice and slander.

I agree both of them look extremely bad and the relationship was toxic and doomed from the start. They are both flawed and deeply damaged individuals. The both need to be in therapy for many years before they attempt another committed relationship. I perhaps should not be thanking AH for her <filter> crazy testimony and I am not trying to set back women's experiences or truth in any way. I am merely posing the argument that blind faith in an accusation should not be the standard and #metoo is asking that the burden of proof be set aside and the victim, regardless of sex, be believed automatically. Scrutiny is a good thing and the burden of proof in such accusations has to be maintained. It is vital for true freedom.

Camille caught her lying in her testimony. There is talk online about AH being taken brought back to court for lying under oath and possible prison time if convicted.

Do you think it will come to that? I think there are more important things for the courts, but it would be an interesting outcome when this case is final.

Even IF that were to happen, she's a somewhat celebrity. She wouldn't serve a day in jail.

Even if Johnny "wins"?

Public opinion is SO against her. That's what I think makes it possible... but not plausible.

Do I believe there was alcohol and drug abuse by both parties . Absolutely! Do I believe they said horrible things to one anther? Absolutely! Do I believe Amber was the aggressor and was gaslighting JD from very early in their relationship? Absolutely,

I have info regarding prior aggressive/baiting behavior by Ms Heard. Also the unfortunate privilege of watching her testimony. I nailed her as borderline and histrionic ...at the very minimum. Depp is a damaged soul and has a history of substance abuse. This coupling was a nightmare, As a very public figure...don't know why he was EVER involved with AH. Midlife crisis perhaps? There were so many flags with AH. She is terrifying and anyone who has ever had contact with a borderline...Amber rings that bell and should carry a lot of weight in this trial IMO I've also had close contact with addicts.. JD spoke the truth when he said he hurt himself the most. I still can't believe AH was allowed in his inner circle. She had him in her sights, used him and set him up for a payday when it didn't work. AH is the scary monster. The family and friend of AH were taking advantage of Jd's generosity They rode that gravy train and tried to keep it alive Can't believe JD and his team were so irresponsible . "Stars" live so outside the norm they need to be protected from others and themselves. It's why I never wanted fame. I've seen this up close and personal my entire life. I'd take the "invisible" route any day or year. It's not worth it!MHO

Boring today.

As your thread starter I recommend you do not put on court tv and save yourself the repetitive reply.
It’s been like that the last couple of days. Seems like everybody is lying but Amber and her friends according to the Heard team.

I saw a clip from days ago, where Heard actually broke her ongoing gaze with the jury when Vasquez challenged her with (paraphrasing) "Is it true that you got the part on Aquaman because of Mr. Depp?". Vasquez even smiled after Heard's reaction, which could mean that Depp's lawyers are deliberately provoking Heard into breaking the facade and revealing her true colors. They do this in movies! The legal books probably call it the "A Few Good Men" tactic.

There are bigger celebrities than her that did actual time. Martha Steward or Bill Cosby come to mind but there are many more!

For lying, even in court, I doubt that she'd do any time in jail. She would most likely get probation and told to fulfill her fiduciary responsibility in fulfilling her donation pledges.

All Martha did was take advantage of inside information to play the stock market. Something our own elected officials do all the time. Bad but not as bad as lying under oath in an attempt to destroy an individual.
