Johnny as Willy Wonka?

Elaine,

The original Willy Wonka movie was not made as well as it could have been. I jsust love the end when he wraps his hand around that gobstopper and says, "So shines a good deed in a weary world." Hopefully they will leave that line in.

OUATIM--well...I loved Desperado! But, it just seemed in this movie, too many players and no real follow through if you know what I mean. I will always love Antonio and Johnny, but the movie could have been better.

BTW, are you gonna be in WDW in Dec.? Oh-nevermind, I just saw your countdown!!

Gene Wilder always creeped me out in Willyl Wonka. I guess it was from seeing it when i was a kid and getting scared.Johnny has that same sort of creepy/odd way about him that Gene Wilder has. I imagine his portrayal will be very similar. I also don't get all the remakes. I generally don't like them. If you see something and love it you don't really want to see somebody do it differently. I can't wait for Neverland and of course the Pirates sequel. Love my johny.

Just saw the trailer for Finding Neverland last night (before seeing Garden State- fantastic movie), and it really looks great. I'm also a big Kate Winslet fan. Depp's talent has really allowed him to chose some worthwhile projects.

With Tim Burton directing and Johnny as Wonka; this is not going to be your average "remake"!! I can't wait for this...

I must admit that if Johnny Depp is in Willy Wonka, that would be the only reason I would see it. I always HATED that movie when I was a kid. That whole chocolate factory gave me the creeps. I only liked Charlie and his grandpa. All of my friends loved this movie though.

Well, if a movie came out with Johnny D in it, I'd go see it anyway (unless my mom said no.....then I'd beg and plead... :lovestruc ;) ) But, I'm REALLY looking forward to, him playing Willy Wonka. I think he'll be great as it. If not, at least he'll be good looking ;) . Finding Neverland also looks good. My friend and I are already making plans to see it when it comes out :hyper: :teeth:

Finding Neverland looks GREAT and I'm curious about the Willie Wonka remake. There's so many directions Tim Burton could go in with that one.
