John Kerry for President!

I was MORE than impressed and yes, he touched on things that totally matter to ME and my world.

It was so good to see Max Cleland open for him, too. What an awesome inspiration he is.

I could not agree more.

I had to chuckle at all the hired guns and bobble heads trying to put a negative light on last night's events. "the balloons failed to fall on schedule" :rotfl: "He spoke too fast".......that line is a hoot....we all know if he had spoken slower they would have been saying he lacked enthusiasm.

As a side note I am pleased to say that the day of the bobble heads may be at an end. PBS convention coverage drew a bigger share of the audience than CNN, MSNBC, and FOX combined.

I am TERRIFIED of where our country will be socially, economically and respect-wise with the rest of the world in 4 years if President Bush gets re-elected. I know that I am not alone in feeling this way because almost every speaker at the convention spoke of this election being the most crucial and critical in our nation's history.
Talk about "hope not fear".....

I was thining Sen Kerry's speach was going to be lackluster, but I was damn near brought to tears over it and the idea of that man getting elected president.

He's speaking here in Milwaukee on Monday and I will be there proudly showing my support for him, just as I did when Sen Edwards was here last weekend. I cannot wait!

So the BIG question is, who do you think the terrorists want as our next President?

Specifics if you don't mind.

I, personally, think it is FANTASTIC that the worst thing the nay-sayers can find to say about hs speech is that he was sweating. LOL Of course, anyone who has been paying any attention at all to the DNC has heard the numerous complaints about the ineffective air-conditioning in the Fleet Center...not to mention it was 85 degrees in Boston yesterday...

Certainly, it wasn't as inspiring a speech as some of the other speakers; but then, a lot of what was inspiring in them was their expressions of anger regarding the current admin, which mirrored much of what their audience was feeling themselves. I thought Kerry's speech was right on the money--critical without being negative, and an incredibly optimistic expression of what our country can, should, and WILL be!

Don't you watch the news, Elwood? They've already stated their hopes that Bush is re-elected. It's kinda old news at this point.

what are you saying? That we should hire someone with a crystal ball to determine who these people want for president and then vote the other way? Sorry, the debate has moved beyond simplistic sound bites and into the realm of serious discussion. That tired old line is only going to work on Bush supporters who would never change their minds anyway. And speaking of which I am beginning to wonder exactly where all those people are.

According to polls:
Kerry is doing better than Gore with Veterans
Kerry is doing better than Gore with Latinos
Kerry is doing better than Gore with Middle-Easterners
Kerry does better than Bush with Blacks
Kerry does better than Bush with gays
Kerry does better than Bush with women
Kerry does better than Bush with atheists
Kerry does better than Bush with labor

and yet, we are still told the race is a dead heat?????

Yes, I do. But I didn't realize that an official endorsement was made.

So does that mean they are more afraid of what Kerry will do to them?

You forgot one.

Kerry is doing better than Bush with Terrorists.

But the question is a serious one. Why would they want Bush over Kerry?

Do you want some cheese with that whine?:bored:

I believe they implied that they felt the Democrats were better able to inspire peace, and that GWB inspired more Muslims to join their (the terrorist) ranks.

You can have all the optimism you want but you'd better have a plan to achieve those goals. That's where I think Kerry fails real short.

Who cares? Why would anyone give any credence to anything these people say?

If they put out a message that they had no interest in attacking the east coast again and were focusing on the west coast would we stop worrying about an attack in the east and send all our defences to the west? Of course we would not...so why on earth would we decide who is the better leader according to what they are reported to have said?

Huh?????

The terrorists what peace???? NO WAY!

They want PIECES of you and me to be splattered all over.

So are really saying that if Kerry is elected that the influx of new terrorists will cease because Kerry won't piss them off by killing the existing terrorists?

If the right wing wanted this tactic to work, they started way too early. It only took a few weeks of the "vote for Bush or you'll die" routine to lose it's effectiveness. Now it's just tiresome and almost as ridiculous as the "vote for Bush or you're un-American" crap.

I think he said what had to be said. Hoping all he talked about aren't just campaiqn promise that never happen.

I remember a speech that made lots of promises. I have yet to see any of them.

We have secceeded in alienating our world. When you"ve lost credibility you have nothing. You can't bully and blackmail the whole world. Any civilization that has tried has fallen. Never burn your bridges, you may have to return.

We have hope of an election where our candidates will discuss the issues that are important, respecting each other.

I want to hear what your visions are for the future, not what happen yesterday, but what you will do to make tomorrow better.

I thought Kerry's speech was great. He managed to take a few good swipes at Bush, while maintaining control and dignity. He came across with confidence and a high degree of intelligence. I totally agree that this country is no longer respected by other world factions, and I think John Kerry can get that respect back. GWB's administration has been nothing short of a disaster, whether you're looking at world peace or the American economy. There was complete national unity following 9/11 -- Bush and Cheney road the coattails of that disaster, and in their attempts to glorify themselves they have once again torn the country apart. Kerry will absolutely get my vote!!!!

I like that a lot.
I like it, too.

Fear begets fear, hate begets hate...I won't give in to the anger and paranoia and I live and work in a highly terrorist-vulnerable city.

Another vote for hope and peace.
