John and Elizabeth Edwards Separating?

Did anybody see the 20/20 show last night. As much of a scum that I thought Edwards was I was only the tip of the iceburg.

I didn't watch it last night because it's in my backyard. I'm glad the people in the country is seeing what the NC citizens has seen for years.

I did, it was disgusting and I think more is coming.

We watched most of the 20/20 episode last night - the Youngs really are trying to be victims of the "slick politician" Edwards - after he was fired (?) from the campaign, he was "employed" by a private company, with a 30% raise. They lived better during the time this was going on than they ever had. Smart of him to keep voice mail, etc., though - or it very well would be a case of he said/he said now. Apparently, the sex tape is "real"- hence, the restraining order the baby mama filed against Young.

The National Enquirer was on top of this story for a very long time - you know the mainstream media - especially considering the reporters traveling with Edwards during the campaing - had to be aware of it, and they just ignored it, until the NE had photographic evidence. I never saw the paparazzi pics of pregnant Rielle until 20/20.

I remember listening to the press conference where it was announce that Elizabeth's cancer was terminal/non-curable. It's quite disheartening to learn of the behind the scenes shenagins going on during those days!

Yikes... what was Edwards, one of the top 4-6 presidential candidates? Imagine if he had somehow made it? Or been tapped as VP? This would all still be swept under the rug now.

Yes! I was sick to my stomach! They were talking about how her cancer would give them sympathy from the voters and perhaps a win. And how they were at HER house listening to the rain and talking about how that house would be their house after she was gone and she would be the first lady!

I remember the pics of pregnant lady and the rumors but not from the news media like, it was on TMZ or one of those shows that my kids watch, I honestly never had taken the NE serious, most of their headlines are crazy claims and remember seeing the magazine at the groceries store check out line but didn't think it was true. Then Anderson Cooper had the story way after Edwards campaign had ended, but he the rumors were that he was after Obama for some job, then he endorsed then Senator Obama.

I also remember that day when they both (Elizabeth and JE) were on TV talking about her cancer, then they were on Larry King, he looked so sad and devastated, if we only knew.

Perhaps the Obama camp knew something but didn't blow they couldn't whistle because after all he had endorsed Senador Obama, and they did not need any more drama, same thing with the Clinton Camp, also he was also a democrat, however I never heard any rumors about a job for Edwards, we heard about Bill Richardson and others but not JE.

He is such a liar and how dare he denied his child, that's just wrong!

haha. This reminds me of the 'horror' that came out with Clinton. We Arkansans knew he couldnt keep his pants on way back in the governor years

I don't know... after what I've read and heard, I have to think Elizabeth Edwards wasn't totally in the dark. Those pictures, the rumors. You know some of her people had to have brought it to her while it was going on.

She did know about a "one night stand" he had with the baby-mama... no way would I have had her around my husband, in any capacity, if I had been her.

I do feel for her, but think she was also caught up in the campaigning and how important it was to keep this quiet.
