John Adams - Series

This is piggybacking on today’s poll….

If you enjoy American history, then you should watch John Adams. I stumbled on this last week and it’s so good. This is currently on HBO Max ($14.99 for one month - I normally will purchase one month of HBO Max when there’s something I want to see - I watch what I want to watch and cancel it). Awesome cast and great story - it’s a great history lesson.

A very good series. I also recommend the book that it was based on.

One review compared John Adams to an Americanized version of the Hulu series Harlots. No quite sure about that because I haven't yet seen John Adams.

If you like this one, check out Sons of Liberty. It’s not 100% historically accurate, but it’s a fun watch.

I recommend Turn, too, if you like Revolutionary War era shows. It's about the spy ring during the Revolutionary War.

HBO has some other really good historical mini series: Band of Brothers, The Pacific and Chernobyl, to name a few.

BoB is one of the best dramatic series that at least attempts to adhere to a historical framework.

HBO also did the series From the Earth to the Moon which I really liked.

watch 'hacksaw ridge' but also the documentary 'the conscientious objector' on which it was based (the movie seems unbelievable but when you watch the documentary and learn of the even more amazing and heroic acts of doss you will be floored).
