jogging in the parks

This may be an unusual question, but here it goes.
DH and his friend usually run about 3 miles together and are hoping to do so on our upcoming trip, staying at BC. One morning, I am planning on getting a later start than usual with breakfast at Cape May. If the dads go for a run around rope drop time for Epcot, will they be able to continue their jog into the park and run over to Soarin to get us all fast passes and then run on back to the hotel? In other words, is there anything to keep them from doing this (they wouldn't be sprinting by any means)? I imagine getting into Epcot will be a bit of a slow down but hopefully less so from the IG entrance.

Everyone has to enter the park with their ticket before the tickets can be used in the Fast Pass machines.

I also suspect that the CMs would stop any guests from jogging/running through the park.

ETA: Soarin' Fast Passes do not run out so early that this should even be an issue. You have until about 11 AM at the busiest time of the year and into the afternoon, or even late afternoon at lower crowd times.

This.

The CM ask that you don't run and "walk" you behind the rope for a while. The dads would only be able to get their fast passes, because everyone else's tickets would not have gone through the turnstyles

The CM's would most defiantly stop guests from running though the parks. Most of the resorts are so big and awesome to see that it may be worth it to jog around the resort in the morning.

Thanks for the quick responses everyone! I didn't know that you had to enter the parks to get a fast pass. That is definitely useful information.

Just a suggestion. If you are staying at the Beach Club, they can do the loop around the Boardwalk and back a couple or a few times. We see runners out every morning. It is a peaceful time:cloud9:

They might want to save their energy. WDW is large enough that they might find it tiring if they jogged and did the parks all in one day. I know many people who are in good shape still feel wiped after doing Epcot.

I've light jogged and certainly fast walked around parks before with my families cards to get fp for everyone - but we're already all in the park.

Also may be worth making the jog between the resort and MGM along the walking path.

I don't think they'd be defiant about it. They would be polite about not letting guests run in the park.

As Timon and Pumbaa will tell you in their Wild about Safety campaign: Follow the rules of the jungle, and No stampeding!!

I can't see a fast walk being a problem though.

I located a map that shows all the jogging routes around the Beach Club.

My favorite run at Disney is there. Nice run around Crescent Lake, past Beach and Yacht, to the other side and past Boardwalk. They can run to Hollywood Studios and back as well...easy to get in 3 miles, and a very scenic and quiet run.

Glad to hear it. DH has only taking up running seriously in the last three months or so. I'm glad he will have a scenic route and he'll be glad that he is running to earn the various beers he will drink at Epcot!

The only time you can run in the parks is for one of the WDW sponsored races like the Marathon.

check out disneyrunning.com for anything that you could want to know about running at disney including running routes at each resort.

The Crescent Lake / Disney Studios run is very pleasant. I've run it many times and it's a good one.

1 lap around Crescent Lake is about 0.83 miles. From behind Jellyrolls along the canal to the Studios, all the way around the the head of the boat dock at the Studios and then back is about 1.5 miles.
