Joey's Wish Trip - PTR - Nov 28 - Dec 5

I am trying to catch up on all the posting and it seems that your question on the Cirque or however you spell was never fully answered. I have been twice - in fact I took my "big kid" (my husband) for his birthday last year. It is a great show - though difficult to describe. There is much action - things going on in all directions. I think all the seats are good and the show might look quite different from low down and high up. They have "circus" acts like the flying trapezee, etc. but the are done with some amazing twists.

I took my husband because as a photographer, he has seen (free of charge) most of the shows - except this one. He saw part of the one in Las Vegas (as part of his job) and was anxious to see the whole thing.

That being said - it is really just one of many great shows in the area and with a limited vacation, I would probably not pick it unless someone in the family was really into the circus and now available at other places than Central Florida. It is expensive. I don't remember the price but I think it was over $100 for the two of us off season. They have a website so you can check the prices. The show, itself, is also fairly short.

There were lots of kids in the theatre and they all seemed to enjoy it.

AHHHH I LOVE IT!!!!!!

I can only imagine how the excitement at your house is going to build as the trip gets closer!!! What are they looking forward to the most??

We have 4 parcels waiting for us at the post office that have come in the last 3 days, I'm going to pick them up tomorrow ... the kids can't believe that we are just expecting 4 parcels and they have no clue as to what the Big Give is all about, so they will be some excited when they realize the stuff is for them!

I think the fact that we are actually going is what they are looking forward to the most. Before Joey was diagnosed we were planning a trip to Disneyland which had to be cancelled as Joey was in hospital when we planned to go. They have also known about the possibility of this trip for almost a year, so now that we are as of today only one month away the excitement is building!!!!

I took Joey for a check-up at the Children's Hospital today (it takes all day to do that ... left home at 7:30am got home at 7:30pm!) and all was good. They are even planning to remove the access line in his chest (so he could go swimming!) and maybe the feeding tube before we go ... we are excited!

Thanks for the reply Katie. I think that we have decided that we already have enough evening things planned, so instead we will save the cash and make sure we see the Chinese Acrobats in Epcot as we have heard they are really good!

So, I finally made it to the post office today and 3 of the 4 things waiting for us there were Big Give parcels!

My kids were so excited! I hadn't told them why I was measuring them and asking them about their favourite characters & colors, so today I told them all about the Big Give and the amazingly talented and generous people that are a part of it!

So here's what we got ...

Opening the first box, this one was from "ellen benny", THANK YOU so very much!!!

This one is a bit blurry, but Shaelyn was sooo delighted when she saw it I thought I would include it anyway! (You can see Joey sizing up the shorts in the background )

And the back of the beautiful skirt!

On to the next package ...

It was a really nice shirt for ME! Thanks so much again to the Laxton family ... I love it!

Yay, I was so excited to wake up and see that you had received some big give packages and that mine had arrived there! I love the family photo, looks like I should have sent something for the dog, he looks left out LOL! So cute!

We have a MAW trip for my daughter over Christmas vacation and New Years, also staying at GKTW and we also have four kids, so I'll be anxiously awaiting the details of your trip!

It is so great to see your family in their Big Give clothes. I am so glad that Joey's last visit to the doctors brought good news and he may soon be tube free. Recovery milestones are pretty awesome to hit. Congratulations!

So glad the line will be out by your trip. Our son has a central line too and I know the apprehensive about infection etc is always there.

She absolutely was floating!!! She LOVED the outfit and was so bummed when I said she had to wait until the trip to wear it again!

Thanks, he seems to be stable at the moment, less then a month to go!

With relapse always looming in our minds, that or another type of cancer caused by his brutal treatments it's great to get positive news!
