Joe Millionaire?

I agree with others that there is probably some surprise for us viewers at the end of this show - things are definitely not as they seem. I was at first surprised he kept Zora until my husband noted "were you not paying attention at the dates he selected for each of them?" From his male point of view, Evan's planned date with Zora was the most romantic - an evening meal at a Parisian bistro restaurant followed by strolling by the Seine accompanied by an orchestra and a music box. Remember Sarah and Alison's dates were "day" dates, not even including dinner. So, in my DH's view, this was the most romantic date planned, which showed that obviously Evan really liked Zora, and remember, he planned her date for last. Add that to the fact that she did not gush all over him and his money just reinforced his idea that she might be the one. Personally, I had not looked at it that way before. Maybe he's right. Any other male watchers out there??? Meanwhile, I must say, that MoJo and her hat annoyed me no end!!!

I agree with all the points made. I don't even think he's that good looking........they should do something with his hair !

As far as them going after him for the money.....I think Zora will be out this week..... I didn't think they had that much in common, and their date seemed boring. Most of them were though. I was surprised he kept her after their date. I think she has classic beauty though, and if he's going for looks, I think she is the best looking one. it will be interesting to see what happens when they find out what he really is worth. You know, with all the publicity and further modeling contracts, and probably commercial endorsements, he will be worth much more than $19,000 a year. The winner shouldn't feel so bad about not getting in on the $50 million...that's way too much money to spend anyway. (Even though it would be fun trying!!);)

I think the butler has the best personality. He's the cutest. Maybe he's the real millionaire.

I thought the same thing myself. Yesterday was the first show I've seen. The conversation is very dull on the dates! I'd be fast asleep on a date with this Joe guy. I sure don't see any chemistry happening with any of these remaining girls and Joe. I started watching but I think it's immoral to lie to these women about the size of Joe's pocketbook.

I think what really turns me off is Joe's lack of humor. He rarely smiles. Also, his attitude toward the women is somewhat combative. After all, HE is the one doing the lying! You would think he would at least try to make the girls comfortable. The way he kept grilling Zora last night was more like an interview than casual conversation. He needs to learn a little finesse. I don't blame Zora for shutting down.

I also don't think he is good looking. He needs a better haircut, maybe. Whatever it is, he can't hold a candle to Aaron (The Bachelor!)

I like Zora best now. I'm torn because I think if I like her best I should root for her to get kicked off so she won't get stuck with him. I liked the curly haired Melissa till last night. She probably deserves him.

So funny the difference in how "Joe" perceived Melissa's opinion of the painting and what she really thought! And then MoJo said their conversation was so wonderful and he said they didn't have anything to talk about!!! I don't see MoJo's great beauty either.

I think it makes it hard for them to get into any real good conversations because he can't say much about himself since its all a lie.

It comes on opposite The Bachelorette, which is driving this reality loving TV person crazy! Last night we recorded Joe and watched the Bachelorette!

Anyone else surprised that he eliminated MoJo?

Jen, I was very surprised that MoJo was eliminated! I thought for sure, out of all of them, she would be the one to stay!! I thought that he would get rid of Melissa, what a wench she is!

I like Zora the best, but don't want to root for her because Evan is a big loser anyway!! LOL :p

I was NOT surprised he got rid of Mojo.

My sister and I were on the phone and knew she blew it with the poem and that CHECK she wrote for herself for a Million dollars!! I think that was her immediate downfall.

I am with all of you about the no chemistry. I'm truly wondering if this man even LIKES women... sorry, but he doesn't seem as elated as most men are with the attention.

I sometimes think it's because of the lie but I think it's just him. He really has NO sex appeal!

Did you guys notice the DISNEY reference with Zora??? LOL!

Robin, I agree with you 100%. The check was definitely her downfall. I was truly hoping he would get rid of Sarah or Melissa. They reminded me of 2 old crones huddled under a blanket smoking and gossiping. I don't think Evan has realized either of their true natures yet. I thought they were all terrible how they crashed Zora's hot tub date. I'm sure none of them would have stood for it. I give Zora a lot of credit for just getting up and leaving.

It's interesting to see how much input Paul the butler has. Maybe he's the real millionaire and that chateau is HIS house! That would be interesting.

As a side note, my husband's eyes almost popped out of his head when he saw Sara's bathing suit top--that was almost obscene!

Oh, and yes, Robin, the Disney reference was funny! They were trying to compare her to Snow White or Briar Rose in the forest with the animals--what a riot!

I didn't like Zora at first, but if she would just be honest with him about her childhood--she would win by a mile!!

I liked Melissa until last week's show.

I'm wondering if maybe he really does have a lot of money:confused:

I don't think Evan is a rocket scientist, but what was that with Melissa that she did not even know what garlic looked liked, confused it with an onion and then completely annihilated that tomato for the salad? And, then complained to Sarah about breaking her nail? Please get rid of her next!!!
And, I don't blame Zora for escaping that hot tub either - I like her best.

I think she showed independence and class by not making a scene and just leaving. She was the most demure in dress, also, and the other girls seemed to be just clawing all over Evan.

No doubt this scene was put together by the producers but it just made most of the others look real bad.

ChiTownZee: Mojo showed Evan a photo album of her family. In it was a page of a check she wrote to herself for one million dollars, based on something she read about Jim Carrey who did the same thing and it came true....

I think she proved to be what he's trying to avoid, a gold digger. She claimed that she was going to cash that check in three years. I think after that fiasco she'd better forget it!

Jill, I totally agree that Melissa and Sarah's true natures will come out sooner or later too. Zora seems to be the only one with an air of mystery to her and some real morals.

Melissa's answer to what she would do with all that money sounded like the answer they give at the Ms. America contest!! :teeth: LOL!

LOL Robin! Maybe Melissa is waiting to be crowned!!! She came out with that 3rd world country statement so quickly its almost like she had it ready in case she was asked!

I have the feeling that Melissa couldn't even NAME a third world country if she was asked to! I still love the part when she said she's just a mercenary!:p

Melissa: Can't cook. Has obviously never used a knife. "I've never cooked on a date before. My boyfriends have always cooked for me." = Is going to need/expect someone to "take care of her," i.e., the big bucks. And yet comes off with that totally ridiculous third world country comment. Mercenary, indeed.

MoJo: I think she totally freaked him out with the puzzle ("I choose you"???!!! Come on!!!), the poem about marriage, and the million dollar check to herself. She's actually from around here - so she's been on our local FOX news a lot. I'm glad she got voted off - so maybe they'll quit having her on.

Sarah reminds me of a debutante type. She just seems like an ice queen - and yet there was all of that "slurping." I think he'll pick her - and she deserves both him and the humiliation of learning he's a construction worker.

Zora is too good for him. She's smart enough to know that "something's just not quite right." She pretty, she's natural, she's not as catty as the other girls. While she's probably not in it for the money, if he did pick her - she'd probably be the most upset to learn of the lie.

DH and I were shocked that he chose to keep Melissa.

We *never* watch reality TV, but have somehow gotten sucked into this. DH said that he wished we could fast forward to the end though.

I like Zora.

I had to laugh at the Disney connection, especially when they flashed animal scenes.

With all the mystery behind Zora, I'm beginning to think that this is a set up and Evan & Zora know each other. She is so different from the others and has never seemed too keen on even being there.

zora is my favorite. she actually seems uncomfortable with evan having all that money. i think she would open up a lot more if she knew he actually wasn't worth that much money. she seems really down to earth.

i think there were 3 things that lead to mojo's down fall. most importantly the $1,000,000 check, the the reference of husband and wife in the poem (i don't think evan is thinking that seriously). also i think she came on a little strong with the "i choose you" puzzle.

i hope mellisa is eliminated next. all she seems interested in is the money. she acts happy when she is with evan then as soon as she's with the other girls she starts complaining. i still think on shows like this, the person, evan in this show, should get to see what goes on when they're not in the room. that would help a lot with their decisions.

sarah seems like she would be a lot to take care of. she has a wild side that attracts evan but i don't know if that would last. i personally don't think she is that pretty either.

GO ZORA! :D

I knew who was leaving as soon as Mojo (what kind of stupid name is that, anyways??) said, "oh, here is the $1,000,000 check I wrote to myself! I am going to cash it in three years!" I could see the $$$ in his eyes and I was surprised they didn't edit in "ca-ching!!" in the back groud.

I really like Zora, she is very nice, but I am wondering what kind of editing they are doing. They did the same kind of thing with this past season of "The Bachelor". I really liked her until she was obviously so disapopinted on their date and was quite rude, I thought.

I liked MIchelle for a long time, but she is getting aggrivating now.

The blonde chick is as fake as her chest.

All I can really be thankful for is.... I DON'T HAVE TO LOOK AT OR HEAR BUTT-UGLY HEIDI!!

I can't wait to hear the girls talk after the show is over.

Melissa said that she can't talk about the show now but after it's over she'll explain everything. Whatever that means. If I hear anything through the highschool grapevine I'll let you guys know.
