Jodi's bridal journal (posts welcome) - I'm back!

Does not matter if you missed a day you have still done enough excersise in this life time to feel good. Would love to see pics of garter when you get them.

Kristin

Jodi, don't feel bad about those days off from the gym. Your muscles really do need to rest and rebuild. Also, you don't want to burn out on exercise!

I hope with all this exercise you're drinking lots and lots of water to help flush all the lactic acid out of those muscles so they're not as sore. :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:

I do love reading about your trips to the gym - they help to inspire me to go for my workouts. I've never worked with a personal trainer, but I'm kind of thinking about it. I do the weight circuit (all Cybex machines) but I'm not happy with the arm machines for biceps and triceps. Maybe a personal trainer could help me figure out other exercises with free weights for my arms......hmmm, now you've got me thinking! ::yes::

Your garter sounds wonderful and I'm glad you've reserved the honeymoon photography session at MGM. You'll have pictures that will bring wonderful memories for many, many years! Wish I'd done a Disney wedding! :teeth: It sounds like so much fun!!

I do drink lots of water at the gym....I have to I think I would pass out if I didn't. I always bring two big bottles of Poland Springs with me. Everyday, I will refill them with water....I am not about to pay all of that money for bottled water everyday (that runs into a lot of money).

Thank you so much! that is a great compliment:sunny: I use the personal trainer because it serves as more of a self help for me. I want to make sure that I do all of the exercises correctly and if I can't do the well known exercises for certain areas there are usually some others that she can suggest....I have back problems and have to be careful but they truly are an inspiration, if you do go for one make sure that you have goals and a specific thing in mind for the workout that particular day to get the most out of your money. I know a lot of times in the past I didn't ask all the questions are didn't get as much done as I wanted and felt jipped, make sure you get your money's worth. I don't know if you get it but if you do watch the fitness network they have excellent exercise programs and may give you a good idea of what to work on or to ask your trainer (if you decide to go that way (I hope this helps).

Today's updateI didn't get as much done as I wanted but I did do 45 minutes of cardio....Tomorrow, I will be working my muscles back to where they should be. The diet isn't going as well as I wanted this week....It was tough coming back from last week but I will make it. I am having a trainer the weekend after next to go over diet and some more exercise.

I'm pooped I gonna run now have a great night everyone and thank you everyone for your encouragement. :cool1:

Sorry to hear your having a rough time on your plan. Everyone has those moments so good luck getting out of your funk. The excercise still sounds really good. Have a great day.

Kristin

Hi Everyone,

Well....my garter is on it's way. I do have a picture which I hope to get up on the board by the end of the weekend (to share with all of you). With that I also have exciting news, Christina, the women who put together my garter and I got to talking via email and we may be setting up a deal with one another. I may re-do her website kind of as a barter type of thing. She is great at craft type stuff so she may make me some stuff in return for updating her website. I graduated from a Digital Media program this past April and just really didn't want to get rusty on any of the stuff. I will keep all of you updated. :teeth: By the way, I absolutely love the garter (I only have a picture but I can tell it is quality).

Tonight I will be going to the gym, not sure yet what I will work on. I depends on how I feel my stomach isn't feeling it's best but I have to exercise. I am finally back on track with the diet. I will also be meeting with my personal trainer in a week in a half to go over diet and have her measure fat, etc. along with the regular exercise. This is a lot of work.

I will update this post when I am back from the gym. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Update time:teeth:
First of all it is a go with the update of the website. I'm so excited! I've been dying to use my skills. I will let all of you know more as I get the information.

As far as the gym goes- here's the low down:
• Treadmill- 20 minutes, weight loss setting, resistance 4
• Crossramp-20 minutes, Glut setting, resistance 1
• Superset (3 sets of each of the following):
o Plate loaded Squat (160 pounds) 15 reps
o Shoulders Press (6 pounds) 12 reps
• Seated Pecks (20 pounds) 12 reps, 3 sets
• Superset- 12 reps, 3 sets of the following (using 6 pound free weights)
o Front raise
o Lateral raise
o Lunge
• Cable pulls- 20 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets
• Abdominal cable pulls- 60 pounds (for resistance), 15 reps, 3 sets
• Superset- 12 reps, 3 sets of the following:
o Prone Leg curl- 30 pounds
o Shoulder shrugs- 10 pounds in each hand
• Calf raises- 35 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets

Wow, Jodi!:earseek:

You are amazing! Your trips to the gym exhaust me just reading about them! You are doing a fantastic job!! Keep up the good work!:Pinkbounc

Congratulations on the website deal! :bounce:

Have a great Friday,
Tracy:wave:

Thanks Tracy for such great compliment! I am having a really great Friday so far. However, I haven't decided to whether or not to go to the gym tonight....I want to go I just don't want to drive.

I am so very excited about the website...I can't wait to get started it is a lot of work but I love doing creative things. Maybe, I will just get a jump start on my website tonight and then go to the gym bright and early in the morning. Yeah, I guess that is what I will do. I really need to rest the muscles that I used yesterday anyway. I'm so pooped from this week, it was just one of those weeks that dragged.

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful night. If I get a huge amount of headway on my website, I will put it in my contact information and/or in my signature.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful support.

Good afternoon everyone,

As I said last night I got to the gym early today and it was great hardly anyone was there today.;)

Here's my workout:
1. Treadmill- 20 minutes, weight loss setting, resistance 4
2. Crossramp- 20 minutes, glute setting, resistance 1
3. Arc Trainer- 15 minutes, weight loss setting, resistance 3
4. Cable pull backs- 30 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets
5. Cable stomach crunches- 60 pounds (used for resistance) 15 reps, 3 sets
6. Cable pull down- 30 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets
7. Seated Pects- 20 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets
8. Incline press- 10 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets
9. Superset of 10 pounds, 7.5 pounds, & 5 pounds- tricep kickbacks- 12-15 reps, 3 sets....The idea of this one is to push yourself as much as possible but if you feel strain then bring it down a knotch or stop
10. Biceps- 20 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets
11. wide Chest Press- 25 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets
12. Lat pull down- 45 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets
13. Long pull (for back)- 45 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets
That's it folks!!!!

I am still very excited about the whole website thing and that fact that it is a barter type of thing. I will be saving money a little bit. The person that I am doing the website also agreed to make bridal sneakers for me, I bought the sneakers and I am just allowing her to have her creative juicies flow. I am still waiting for her images of the things that she made- I can't wait to get to work. I just she lived closer....I think she would be a great friend....maybe when I go to Disney World next year one day I can arrange to meet up with her. God, I don't believe I am planning the next year already- Is it bad that I am more excited about the honeymoon than the wedding? Has anyone gone through the same thing?

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of their weekend. I hope to get around to reading other journals tomorrow. Lately it has just been run, run, run.

Until tomorrow:wave:

Good morning everyone,

I can't believe that I've been at this over two months now. Although, I have to say that I think that I accomplished a lot it is still not enough. My family and my DF family makes it so tough but for the most part I am resisting everything. I want to look my absolute best next year at my wedding....Right now, I am just not seeing enough results.....I know, I know it takes time and I am so glad that I started a year or so before the wedding.

Next weekend, I have another personal trainer session where I will be going over all of my goals and taking measurements and diet....I can't wait! I want to look like a million bucks at my wedding. My DF isn't doing as well as me on his diet and I have encoured him to go with me to personal trainer sessions (she does couple's sessions) but he won't do it. I'm not going to push but it seems like he isn't even trying anymore. Too bad guys don't have the pressure that girls do at the wedding, they don't have to worry about fitting in a dress or how their backs look, and upper arms look. :( I just hope that I can achieve the way that I want to look at the wedding.

I'm debating lately on whether or not to arrange a day at the spa for myself, you know take one of my vacation days and just book at day at the spa and just get the full treatment. I just feel like a really need it- It would really cheer me up, I don't know why I have been so down on myself lately.

Well, very shortly I will be going to the gym. I will update this post after I am done.

Had a great time at the gym today. I know it is weird but I really do enjoy the gym- I feel so energized when after I go. Well, okay here is the update:

1. Treadmill- 20 minutes, weight loss setting, resistance 4
2. Crossramp- 25 minutes, glute setting, resistance 2
3. Arc Trainer- 20 minutes, weight loss setting, resistance 4
4. Superset of front raise, lateral raise, and lunge (7 pound weights used) 12 reps, 3 sets
5. Superset- Prone leg curl (40 pounds) & Shoulder Shrugs (10 pounds) 12 reps, 3 sets
6. Superset- 3 sets of: Plate loaded Squat (160 pounds) 15 reps & Shoulder press (7 pounds) 12 reps. Of course, 3 sets
7. Back Squat- 10 pounds for the first set of 12 reps and for the other two sets 15 pounds.
8. Seated Crunch- 65 pounds, 15 reps, 3 sets
9. Seating Incline crunch (with weighted ball) 8 pounds held infront of me and 6 pounds held above my head, 12 reps, 3 sets.

That's it but I need to kick this up a knotch. These exercises are getting a little too easy that means it is time to change it up. I will work on that with my trainer this coming Saturday.

Sorry to hear you have the blues...maybe the best perscription would be a day at the spa. Lord knows you work hard enough at the gym you need a break. Maybe your dad will kick into gear when it gets a bit closer. Hope you have a great day keep smiling.

Thanks Kristin! I think I will go for a trip to the spa- although it probably won't take place for another month or so.

I hope that you're right and my DF kicks into overdrive when the wedding comes closer. :teeth:

Totally unrelated to the WISH boards....As you know I am getting stuff together for next year.

I thought of a cute idea for my DF for next year the day of the wedding (something he can wear once we get to DisneyWorld for our honeymoon) but I need help with wording. Here is the T-shirt but I don't know what to say on it. http://disney.store.go.com/DSSectionPage.process?Merchant_Id=2&Section_Id=11875&Product_Id=146145

I've thought of putting "We're on our Disneymoon" and then the dates that we will be at Disney World, is that corny? or just plain "Honeymoon trip and the dates that we will be staying in the World." I would of course get the T-shirt with the Mickey & Minnie groom. Let me know what you think?

Hi Everyone,

I just received my garter today. God, it is so beautiful....I am so glad that I went that way instead of buying at David's Bridal or elsewhere....to me they have just looked so poorly made.

If anyone is about to get married or knows someone who is getting married and wants something a little different from what they see in the stores (for garters) just PM me and I will give you Cristina's contact information.

I decided to take the day off from the gym. I think I might have been overdoing it....yesterday I didn't feel quite right, it was either that or the protein shake that I had....I guess, I will have to try the shake again to really know. My trainer recommended them, if I don't use the rest that will be $18.00 right down the drain. :(

I also sent my payment to Disney for the first honeymoon photography session and will get confirmation shortly...So far I have the confirmation that they received the information through the fax today.

I know I mentioned that I wanted to go to the spa for a day off. I scheduled that today too! September 4th for 2 hours. I can't wait, although I love the gym....I love the reward of a good massage and facial too! ::yes::

Tomorrow, I am back to the gym. Hope everyone else is doing well. Have a great week everyone. :sunny: :sunny:

Until tomorrow

Take me to the spa with you. LOL That sounds so good...the 2hrs that is. Be carefull those shakes can weird you out at first if you dont go gradually. Kinda like a shock to the system. Glad you love the garter. Try and link it soon.

Kristin

Jodi,

Hey girl! Did you post a picture of the garter yet? I'm glad that you like it. ::yes::

I'm also glad that you scheduled a spa time for yourself. With all of the exercise you have been doing and all of the other things going on in your life, I am sure you will be on :cloud9: on September 4th!:teeth:

Have a great day Jodi!

Tracy:wave2:

Hi Everyone,

Wow, today went by really fast! I did make it to the gym today...However, I only did cardio so not much to report there.

Hey Tracy and Kristin- I just wanted to let you know that I am in the process of updating my website now but I probably won't be able to show it until the weekend (I hope to have something to show you guys by then). I can't wait for you guys to see the garter. I'm also posting pictures from my wedding gown try ons.

I hope everyone is doing well. I haven't had the opportunity to check out anyone's posting but hope to catch up to speed tomorrow.

Have a great night everyone.
