State officials have revoked the license of a Long Beach therapist who allegedly began having sex with a patient he was treating for depression, then tried to bribe a minister to dissuade the woman from suing him.

According to State Board of Psychology documents, investigators found that Charles T. Stockton, a family therapist since 1979, abruptly stopped treating the patient in May 1991 even though his own diagnosis was that she required more medical care. The next day he invited her to his private quarters and began kissing her, the documents say.

That info is for the psychologist mentioned as supervising Alyce Laviolette 20+ years ago; not someone associated with this trial.

This is what I'm thinking about Laviolette's license status. I think maybe that info is just from early on in her career, but that she since gained more education and that she has a different license in a different database that reflects her position as a Marriage and Family Therapist. And that the reason that license was "cancelled" only means that she was no longer a psychological assistant. I just can't imagine that she could do all she's done over the last 20 years and not be licensed because she lost it in some disciplinary way. Right???
