Someone better come up with those receipts, I can't believe Martinez would ask Jodi if she'd be surprised that WalMart has no record of the return without the State actually having proof of that.

There's other things I wish Martinez would tie up too, he leaves things just too vague and the jury needs to be able to fall back on facts in order to get to a death penalty other than Jodi lies all the time.

I agree with that. I understand that he will tie together a lot of things during rebuttal, but everything. It would be nice to have at least one thing solved or obvious, kwim?

I wonder if the records will just be from that walmart so she can say I don't remember, now that you mention you are right, it was the one in Mesa. I want something concrete she can't lie out of. Not that I don't think she will try to lie over anything. She is definitely one of those people if you say white they say black.

But she's been so adamant that she returned it to the same store, on the same day, so it would be hard to get wrong. She can claim it was another Walmart, but the jury doesn't have to (and probably won't) buy it. Also, I think she'd be more likely to claim, while turning and answering confidently to the jury, that she did return it to that Walmart and that Walmart just has it wrong, period. She's a piece of work. It will definitely be interesting to see how she handles it if he does have undeniable (not that she won't deny it LOL) proof.

And I do hope that Matt McCartney testifies against her at some point! That would be THE BEST.

Martinez has gotten into too many pissing matches with Jodi, makes him look unprepared when he goes off on a tangent down her rabbit hole. This question as to WalMart having no record of Jodi returning the gas can being substantiated with records would help the State's case, then moving on to the math of gas and mileage in his final rebuttal would point to the premeditation.

But yes, Jodi's gonna lie and attempt to take Martinez on another ride down the rabbit hole.

This is what I'm thinking, also. My guess is she'll just say she returned it to a different Walmart if he only has the records from the one store. You know, she'll have had a scrambled, foggy moment again.
