It's not who, but what. JM starts his closing statement.
Nurmi then gets to rebuttal JM's statements and provide his own closing statement.
JM then gets his chance to rebuttal Nurmi's closing statement and finish his closing statement.

Arizona laws...the fact that the jury can ask questions amazes me.

When is the last time the jury can ask questions (put the slips in the box). Can they do it during/after closings? Rebuttals? TIA

I LOVE that the jury can ask questions. Someone said the judge gets to decide which questions to ask (I am not a fan of that).

I think after Nurmi. I could be wrong.

I heard the talking heads say that the judge and counsel get to go thru the questions but the judge is the one who asks them of Jodi. They did say no questions will be allowed that haven't been touched on in the trial.

Someone said march 18th is when the jury gets the case? Two weeks from today! Would love an answer before march 30th!
That was what HLN (or maybe InSession) ESTIMATED when the jury will get the case; a prediction only. They'll get it when the case is done being presented.

The jury can ask questions of a witness, after the prosecutor and defense have done their questioning of a witness. Not sure if that includes rebuttals, altho I would assume so since there are rebuttal witnesses, but once we get to closing statements, there are no more witnesses to question. You can't ask questions of the attorneys. (Altho, I'd like to.)

The judge runs the show and keeps things fair and according to law (in theory  ) so she has to decide what to let in, just like it's up to her to decide what other evidence is let in. The judge gets together at a sidebar and goes over the questions with both sides so that they can voice any objections then.

I missed the recross. :( I hope JM was spectacular!

Do we get the jury's questions tomorrow?

Once all the witnesses have been questioned, then closing arguments start. No more questions what so ever.

I was watching JVM
She had a woman on who was a battered woman, she said Jodie is saying exactly what the experts are going to say. She loved TA unconditionally. It's something a lot of victims do.

Now on NG they are talking about her stupid finger. I'm beginning to think she is double jointed and thats why her finger can bend and unbend at her will.

Thumbs up

Well, at least the jury CAN ask questions.....

NG just said recross is allowed in Arizona however, it is the judges decision as to whether or not she will allow it.

The way she has been going, I'm going to think she may allow it.

I hope so anyway.

Umm, sweetie, if I am not mistaken, NO JM today.

KN is still finishing up with all this sexual crap and some suicide thrown in along with ripped up journals. Ugh. :headache:

I am thinking KN may be back on in the a.m. to wrap up and then JM!

I hope so to, as it is unfair to bring in something that he never ever got to cross examine, that the judge allowed in afterwards.

There was no recross. I might have used that word. Nurmi continued with redirect and the judge allowed JM to ask a few questions about the makeup/missing pages of her journal and some highlighted passages.

Watching JVM and she has a former co-worker of Jodi's "Veronica" who said: "The only thing missing here is the rabbit in the pot. She was so absolutely engrossed with him, if she could not get him on that telephone before going into work she would not go into work. She had to know where he was, what he was doing, everything. She ran the show. She was the manipulator here not him. She was going after him, running after him, I would tell her "Jodi, leave him alone! Stop throwing yourself at him, if you really want this man, what are you doing!" And she'd say "I've got to go get him Veronica, I'm going to be with him forever, we're going to have a family together." She would leave work at the end of the night sometimes, at 11:00 we'd get out, she'd drive over there, straight to Arizona! Five hours, after working a shift."

This woman believes it was ALL about the Cancun trip that threw her into a tizzy, Travis going with another woman, and believes it was all premeditated. That Jodi went to Travis' prepared, she knew what she was going to do but she was going to give him a chance.

Per Veronica, Jodi had a flat affect; "she could be so far deep in trouble at work and not blink an eye."

Re: phone sex tapes...he led her down a spiritual path and she led him down a path of hedonism. (Veronica's opinion.)

Veronica was never called as a witness, and doesn't want to be.

I think she is asking when Juan asked her about the journals and the highlighting and ripped pages.

I found it interesting about that woman saying in trouble at work. So she was defiant at work as well? I wonder what for?

I've seen this woman before on JVM and she is fantastic. She's an advocate for battered women, and she has said BEFORE on the show that Jodi is not doing what battered women do (tell SOMEONE, for one thing), talk about LOVING their batterer (Jodi kept saying she did sex things and stayed with Travis because she LIKED him). But now, Jodi, on redirect, is fitting into the battered woman syndrome because she's giving the right answers, and that it seems like she is now testifying to the definition. This woman does NOT believe that Jodi had been battered (for one thing she dated him for all of a half hour ;)).

I think she is asking when Juan asked her about the journals and the highlighting and ripped pages.

Yes - I freaked out because I saw the word "recross" when I was reading over the thread to see what I missed. Darn husband wanted dinner! :headache:

I don't know if I said it, If I did sorry, he was allowed to question, but it was a huge blow. I don't know why on JVm, and Nancy they haven't replayed it.
