Finally, I'm sitting in the Arias courtroom in downtown Phoenix! A few family members from the Alexander family are sitting in front of me. Arias is wearing royal blue, light-framed eyeglasses, and hair in a ponytail. Nurmi s questioning a potential juror. Seven jurors from the morning session made the cut and were asked to return on Thursday, Oct. 16 when the attorneys are expected to exercise their peremptory challenges. A panel of 12 jurors and several alternates should be seated by the end of the day.

Five more jurors (4 women and 1 man) were just told to return at 10 am on Oct. 16. One other woman was excused after saying she could never impose death, no matter what the crime.

oh my, will the circus ever end? The dog got sick had to take her to the vet. The refrigerator went out, and discovered the tags on the van were expired…..that is enough for one day. The guy is coming out tomorrow to look at the frog...

The juror that had a family member who grew up with ‪#‎JodiArias‬ is the one that seems like she is trying a bit harder than most 2b on jury

EDITED TO ADD: Juror 82 has a sister-in-law who grew up with Arias. She also knew two co-workers who were stalked and killed. She says she can remain fair and has made it through to the next round

Sounds like they are getting a panel from the last of the batch. Maybe we can still go back and watch it all together…...

I saw my daughters and granddaughter this weekend because it was our niece's baby shower. A year ago we thought she was at death's door with possible colon cancer, but seems that the Dr jumped the gun (?) sending everyone into a tizzy. On the bright side, she's fine and expecting a baby!

The last panel of jurors in Arias's penalty phase retrial just left. Several panels of 6 to 7 potential jurors were questioned by Martinez and Nurmi all day, based on their questionnaires completed last week. By my count, 27 jurors made the cut and will return for the final round of questions and peremptory strikes on Thursday, October 16. Opening statements are still set for Monday, October 20.
