DH just called...lunch memo sent out to all employees from suits to part-timers..."at this time we are doing all we can to avoid a reduction of force at this time, however several divisions will need to restructure within the next 30 -60 days"....
reduce...restructure....DH is a new hire...6 mo's and you knowthe saying, last hired, first fired.
DH seems to think "adjustments" will occur in different divisions than his...just so unsettling.
Not to mention I am only about $700 away from having our Dec trip paid in full, the kids will be crushed as we did not take any summer trips (o.k. Milwaukee for 48 hours)
It is much harder to think about cancelling when it is paid for...Iknow we will have to tho to set the $$$ aside...all except that non-refundable airfare
I am going to try and not think about it right now...we may be o.k., but what a crummy memo!

I just can't....not healthy...no news is good news kinda thing....went to he** and back while DH was job searching last few years and if there's one thing I learned, until the final document is in front of you for hiring or firing...anything goes!
Like your DH said, maybe it will be in a different division. DW got a memo of massive "RIFs" and got an email today that they are financially sound for another year.
