Job interview advice Needed

Everyone on the DIS gives such great advice, so I thought I would ask here first.

I need to quit my job. I LOVE my co-workers and the job itself, but I can no longer work with the owner. She is crazy. Now, I just had my review and it was excellent (given by the owner), but I can't stay here. Nothing will make it better, the staff lives in fear of this womans wrath and I won't have it. I am tired of coming home with my stomach in a knot. This job for me is for extra money to go to Disney :thumbsup2,

Anyhoo......I want to start interviewing. What do I say is the reason I am leaving my job? I don't want to bad mouth anyone, which is not professional anyway, I just can't think of anything good to say. I really do love my job.

Thanks for any help you can give.
 
How long have you worked there? If it's been a number of years, you could say something to the effect that you're looking for something 'new' or 'different'. I totally understand not wanting to bad mouth the boss, especially when you're being interviewed by a potential 'new boss'! Good luck with the job hunt! :thumbsup2
 
Doesn't matter near as much as the type of alcohol you bring to the interview.:surfweb:

I have worked at this job almost 6 months. I am not a job hopper, I really just cannot stand the owner. I am also afraid that everyone else will be quiting as well and I will be stuck as last man standing. She cannot keep a staff.
 

Leave on a good note. Give a proper notice about your departure, and ask for a recommendation on your way out. Stay professional, even if your boss decides not to be.

I had a great employee of mine leave my business in one of my first few years off the ground. We were crazy busy then, and I'm sure I drove him nuts on occasion as well. I wrote him an excellent recommendation though, and strangely, I still employ him for contract work... we get along much better now.

Maybe you could mention maybe that you learned a lot, but there was no more room to grow? IDK if that helps, but I've said that in the past and the interviewer just says, "Oh, okay." If you say that it does show you want to move up at some point with an organization.

I don't mind the nuts or the crazy busy, its the nasty tone that no one can stand.
