Monday was always going to be a quiet day to recover from the journey the day before.
Paul and the kids decided to go to Wal-mart in the morning to stock up on essentials, before my daughter and her partner had to return their hire car. Mum and I stayed behind to get on with a few things like contacting vendors, stuffing confetti bags, assembling the favour bags for the next day's teaparty and 'grub and golf' etc.
My friends who were at AKV had a lie in and then came to BLT and we all had a relaxing couple of hours down by the pool!!
Here is my friend's daughter and my other friend's grand-daughter enjoying the lovely weather and the gorgeous pool at BLT
After a relaxing few hours we all went to our rooms to get ready for the official Welcome dinner at Turf Club Grill
I had pre-booked a minibus taxi for us all to get to Saratoga Springs as it is a bit out of the way. I am really glad we did this as it made for a stress free first evening without having to worry about transport.
We had a really lovely meal at Turf Club Grill!!! I am not one for taking photos of food but I had the lamb chops followed by the warm apple crisp and it was delicious. Everybody agreed that it was a lovely meal and that it was really great to sit outside in the sunshine!!! The restaurant was really quiet. I think as it a little off the beaten track, it is a bit of a hidden gem!!
Here are a few photos
The older generation all seemed to sit together (wonder how that happened!!!

)
My daughter and me ( I think Craig,DD's boyfriend was trying out the special effects on his camera!!)

After dinner we wandered down to the boat landing to catch the boat to Downtown Disney
My friend Tracey, Emily and Mum waiting for the boat
Here it comes!!!
The boat from Saratoga Springs to DTD puts you off near Raglan Road and so Alfie couldn't resist popping in to the Harley Davidson shop and pretend to be the Terminator!!!
We wandered around and looked in the shops!! Craig was being really sneaky and snapping photos when you weren't aware of it. I really love this one of Paul and I looking at Cindy's carriage on the top of the 'World of Disney'
By this time, DMIL was complaining that she was tired and wanted to go back to the resort

As the rest of us were still enjoying ourselves and didn't really feel ready to call it a night, Paul said he would escort them back to the resort and meet us back at the room. This seemed to trigger panic amongst everybody and everybody quickly decided that we should all go back to the resort together. I was a little puzzled by this but agreed that we should all catch the bus back to our resorts together.
Of course, when we arrived back in our room, I realized why my family and friends had been anxious for Paul and I to arrive back at our room together. This fantastic surprise was awaiting us in our bedroom!!!
The bedroom
The bathroom
There were beautiful embroidered towels on the bed (and also two chocolate mickey heads which I don't have a photo of)
This picture of Mickey and Minnie was personalized with our names and signed by the main mice!!
This spa basket was also in the bathroom
There were the most gorgeous velvety red roses on the bedside cabinet (which lasted until the end of the trip and transferred to POR with us)
There was a little Mickey head charm on the stem of one of the roses
We were so thrilled with this surprise and it turned out that our daughter had organized it for us and collected contributions toward the cost from all our wonderful guests!!!
Here I am enjoying my surprise!!
And so ended another lovely day!!!
I will finish with some random photos
