Joanne and Paul's VR - 4th May 2011

Love your cake!! I'm excited to see Randy's pic of everything, I'm sure everything was just magical for you and your family!! :goodvibes

Joanne, I am so worried about the wedding being over...only because I LOVE planning it so much! hahaha :goodvibes

Hi Joanne.
I have enjoyed reading through your PJ today after listening to you on the Inside Disney Weddings podcast.
I recently got engaged on the Poly beach whilst watching Wishes :lovestruc and we both agree a WDW wedding will be perfect! However, like you, I am looking into Swan and Dolphin weddings to try an keep the costs down. Lots of research for me to do, so glad I found this site!
P.s. Love your logo!!!

So pleased to hear that everything turned out just how you wanted.

Amanda sweetie - Thank you!!! It is so hard waiting for Randy to send the photos through, but I am sure it will be worth the wait!!

Lacey - Ha ha!! Be afraid, be very afraid!!!:rotfl: I am really missing the planning as I loved every second of it. I have a new project to plan (a big birthday bash for me and two friends), but thats a long way away in 2013 and won't be the same somehow............:sad1:

ladyemz - Hi and welcome!!! I am most honoured to receive you very first post!!! I do not think you would regret looking in to a S/D wedding. If I can help in any way at all, or answer any questions, please ask as it would really help my 'planning withdrawal symptoms' to help other brides!!! I love my logo and I am reluctant to let it go (which is why it is still my avatar!!).

Claire sweetie - Thank you. It really was perfect!!!

so glad you started posting your vendor reviews - you looked absolutely beautiful!!

DH and I are doing a photo session with Randy during our trip this September and we have him booked for the VR as well :cool1:

Joanne- You looked so beautiful on your day!! Your flowers were gorgeous and so was your cake!!! I am so glad that you had such a wonderful day!!!

What can I say about this amazing man that hasn't been said a thousand times already!!!
I loved Randy!!! We got on so well, right from the initial contact and through the big day itself!!
Having Randy with you on your big day is like having an extra co-ordinator, bridesmaid and mother all rolled in to one. He really is on top of everything!! He really knows Disney inside out and knows all the best spots for photos!!
He arrived early at our room (as, apparently, he always does) and started snapping away. I haven't a clue what shots he has got from the getting ready session as he seemed just to be taking photos of everything!!!
As I mentioned earlier, there was a slight hic-up with the flowers (Karen sent them back to be altered) and this meant they were a little late arriving at our room. When I started to get a little jumpy about it, Randy called Karen from his phone to see what was happening. I heard him saying 'Okay.... I see.... right'. When he had finished talking I asked 'Is there a problem?' He flashed me a brilliant smile and said 'Nothing we can't fix, hun'. It wasn't until later I found out about the slight mix-up with the flowers!!! In order to speed things up, he then went off personally to reception to get them and brought them up to the room!!!
Randy was awesome through the day, and stayed much longer than he was booked for!! My family loved him!!!
He was tremendous fun at the TTD and said he enjoyed it so much that he was contemplating trashing the photographer and getting in the pool with us.
I have not had my photos back from Randy yet (I told him that I wasn't in a hurry as I wanted him to take his time with the editing) but I am sure I will love them. DH and I had such a good rapport with him that I am sure that will show through!!
Anybody booking Randy as their photographer will not, I am certain, be disappointed!!!

Reception - Mizner's Bar and Citrico's

We were really, really happy we chose Mizners/Citrico's for our reception - it was just perfect for us!!
The planning was really easy. I was in contact from an early stage with the managers (first Curtis and then Viviana) and they were the best!!! They arranged everything for me and even made the reservation on my behalf!!! They were brilliant about allowing the floral arrangements to be put on the table and were only too happy about my dropping the favours off at the restaurant the day before. They would have laid them out on the table for us too, only my favours were personalized and needed laying out to a specific plan, so DD nipped into the restaurant during the cocktail hour and did it!!
Mizners was excellent (although DH and I only had time for one drink after finishing with Randy), and I was so happy that the GF band was playing throughout our cocktail hour!!! We were so lucky and it really added to the experience!!
We were seated for our reservation on time and our server was James. He was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for him!!!
The food was absolutely exquisite, and everybody said it was amongst the best meals they have ever had!!
We were not rushed and took our time and DH said that paying the bill was smooth and easy!!! We had a bottle of wine over at the end which James made a point of reminding us to take.
We were really impressed with both the bar and restaurant and would book a special meal there again in a heartbeat!!
Highly recommended!!

Unfortunately, I do not have any photos of the table all laid up for us at Citrico's as Randy had left (he took some shots of us outside the restaurant before leaving) and nobody else seems to have taken one :sad2:. This is a shame as it looked lovely!! The flowers from the ceremony had been transferred to the tables at the restaurant and looked perfect. Instead, here is a photo of DH and I enjoying Citrico's

So that concludes the reviews (hooray I hear you shout!!)

Next up the TR!!!

Brilliant reviews, Joanne! I'm so happy that you were so very pleased with all of your vendors and the way the day unfolded. You deserved to have such a beautiful day, as you've been so wonderful to all of us who've been following along and planning our own days! :goodvibes

I'm so happy to hear that you loved Randy, I always hear such wonderful reviews about him and that is exactly why we booked him. I agree that Citricos is the best of the best, we were just there Friday for the first time. The food and service was amazing! What a wonderful picture of you and your husband at dinner, you make a beautiful couple!

I'm so happy your day went perfect, you really deserved it, all your hard work paid off. :thumbsup2

Joanne, did I miss it, or did you not mention Loftis Productions? I was just wondering if you indeed used them for your gown steaming as planned and if so, how you liked them? :)

I've been lurking along through your PJ and now TR and just wanted to let you know how impressed I've been with everything you did :worship:

It was a lovely and special day from start to end !

My DH and I have our 30th VR on 8/1/2011 and we're planning cocktails and dinner at Citricos as well - you've made my day with your review

Best wishes for many more years of happiness!

Jilian - You will love Randy!! He's ace!!! It was the first time we had ever eaten at Citrico's and we thought it was amazing. We'll definately be going back!!

Claire sweetie - Yay!!! I will do up until the actual day, and then there may be a pause while I wait on Randy's photos as I want to use them in the report of the actual day. How long did you wait for yours?

Sweet Mary - Thank you!!! You are so lovely!!! Any sign of your photos?

Amy sweetie - The review of Lori from Loftis productions is on P40 post number 600. It was the first one I did, but I went back to check that I had actually posted it!!! Luckily I have and it's there!!!

wiserabbit - I am flattered that you are reading along!! Thank you for the wonderful comments!!!
I would love to hear all about the plans for your big day!!! Any chance of a PJ? You will not be disappointed with Citrico's I am sure. They treated us so very well!!!

I'm such a dope! I can't believe I missed it! Thank you for leading me by the hand to the right post, LOL!! :rotfl:

Randy gave them to us on our honeymoon, he came to our hotel about 12 days after the wedding.

Thank you Claire sweetie, I thought that might be the case!!! Because we had two sessions with Randy (VR and TTD), I told him to take his time!! I didn't want him rushing through and not editing etc. I am not sure whether that was a wise decision or not!!!

I will do the TR up until the VR day and then wait until I get Randy's photos before recounting the big day itself!!

Day 1 - Travelling

We had stayed the night before our flight in a hotel at Manchester airport. Flying with Paul and I from Manchester were our two sons Henry and Alfie. my mum and Paul's mum and her partner Jim.
We had a comfortable stay and a nice meal at the hotel, and then Paul and I celebrated in our room with bubbly and chocolates. Surprisingly, we both slept really well and got up the next morning excited and ready to get started on our special trip!!!
We had booked a meet and greet parking service who were to pick up the cars from right outside the terminal. We hoped this would reduce all the stress usually associated with the whole arriving at the airport thing. We were wrong!!! The company were running behind and (eventually) collected our cars much later than we had hoped. Although we had checked in for our flight on line, and really we had plenty of time, I started to panic.
Eventually the cars were collected and we dropped the luggage and cleared security without further incident!!!
Unfortunately, the whole car parking issue meant that instead of the leisurely, sit down breakfast we had planned, there was only enough time for a hurried coffee and bacon sandwich before boarding!!! We won't be using that car parking company again!!!
The flight was uneventful. It is always a long flight, but seems never ending when you are so excited and wanting to just be there!!! We travelled on one of Virgin's new Airbuses and we were very impressed!!! The food and in-flight entertainment were some of the best I have experienced and the plane very comfortable.
So, eventually we arrived in the country where I just wanted to be!!

We cleared immigration (with the usual long line to wait in) and collected our luggage. It was at this point that DMIL started to complain and, bless her, I don't think she stopped complaining from that moment until we arrived back in the UK. Paul and I knew at this point that she was tired and over-awed (she had never visited the USA before) and so we tried to make allowances for the complaining. Later in the trip, however, this became more difficult to do!!!
Eventually, we were all set and made our way to catch the ME. It is always so lovely to get to the ME check point and be greeted by the first CMs of the trip!!! I felt I was actually nearly home!!
We boarded our bus quickly and we were on our way. It is always an exciting trip and before long we pulled up outside BLT. I was home at last!!!

That is DMIL on the left in the white, Henry in the purple and me peeking out from behind some random guy!!

I was beyond excitement at this point!!

IMGP0227.jpg

My DD Emily and her boyfriend had already been in Florida for two days when we arrived and had been staying for a couple of nights on I-Drive. They had made their way over to BLT earlier in the day and had found that our rooms were ready and had checked us in. Paul and I were staying in a two bedroom villa with Emily and Craig (her boyfriend), our two sons and my mum. Paul's mum and Jim had their own studio (thankfully)!!
I loved our villa immediately!!!

IMGP0180.jpg

Emily had stocked up the fridge with water, coke and beer and had collected these for us from reception (one of each for us both)

IMGP0317.jpg

Emily and Craig had also decorated my and Paul's bedroom with balloons and mouse ears, and had left for us a canvas which she had hand drawn and which we used as a guest book. It now hangs in our hallway at home and has messages from all our guests on it!!

This little guy was waiting for us in the bathroom

IMGP0320.jpg

I did some unpacking and assembled the welcome bags which I distributed to all my guests who were with us at BLT. Emily, Craig, Henry, Alfie and I then went over (in Craig's hire car) to Kidani Village to await the arrival of my friends, who were coming on a different flight and staying at Kidani. Luckily we didn't have to wait long, and we soon had them checked-in and settled. They loved their welcome bags but unfortunately, nobody took a photo of them!!!
After we arrived back at BLT, we all went for a quick dinner at the Contempo Cafe before completing the unpacking!!! Paul and I had a beer before falling into bed, tired but extremely happy!!!
We had arrived!!!!

IMGP0307.jpg

In the background of this photo, you can see the canvas Emily made for us!!

Next up - Welcome dinner and a big surprise!!

I'm loving the tr so far! Great idea with the guestbook! That was very thoughtful of your daughter!!
