Hi all,
I hope I can make this work! I've gained so much inspiration for your journals, I thought I'd give it a try!
This all began in Trauma at Doctor's care. I was taking out the trash at work when the dumpster and my knuckle met and the dumpster won. A lot of blood, a few tears and a "When was your last tetnus (mssp) shot?" later, I'm on the scale saying, "156? That can't be right!" and here I am.
About me, I'm 37 year old wife and mother of 2 (boy 11, girl 9). I started at 200 pounds in 2003, got down to 140 by Dec 2004 and now 156. DH takes me to WDW every year for my birthday (Dec 6) and I want to be down 20 pounds by then. I want to be able to look at our vacation pictures and not fall into depression. :)
I work while my children are in school, so I don't really get a break and just eat a bar of some kind, but once we are home, watch out. I've got to eat something and usually it's everything. Weekends are killer, too because I'm free to eat all day. I eat when I'm bored and I get bored very easily.
My goals:
Journal everything I eat (this alone will be shocking, I'm sure)
Drink water. (maybe 3 24 oz. bottles a day?)
2 miles in the morning and 2 miles at night on my trusty treadmill (henceforth known as "The Machine")

Comments and suggestions are welcomed and encouraged. Thanks for reading. See you tonight.

PS. CTB stands for Countdown to Birthday

Thought I'd take a minute to record my eating thus far.
2 Blueberry muffins w/Orange juice
An apple with peanut butter
2 cupcakes no icing
a bag of BQ chips
1 cup of cereal
1 cup of yogurt
pretzels and honey mustard

Ok ,that looks horrible, no veggies at all, very little protein. See? I need help! I'm like a big eating slug on the weekends. I've been reading through other journals for ideas and inspiration. I've definitely decided to stop drinking Diet Pepsi. It's so hard. I'm completely addicted! But I'm drinking the last one now. Maybe I could put the extra money in my WDW account?
I didn't exercise today because of my hand still healing, but I'm back on The Machine tomorrow. I have a hard time when I can't hold on.
You are all inspiring me so much. I'm trying to work up a good list for grocery day.(Thursday) Any suggestions welcome. I'll check in before bed.

Well, I got my lazy bum off the couch and walked while we were watching the Tower of Terror movie.(I don't care what you say, I like it!) Only a mile and not as fast as I normally walk, but it felt good to be back on. One good thing to report. In my quest to cut down soda, I drank 5 24 oz bottles of water and have become much better acquainted with my bathroom. My husband is not too crazy about my totally quitting the caffeine. While caffeine makes most people jittery, it has a calming effect on me, especially in stressful times. I may have to rethink totally quitting and just cut way back. My family may kick me to the curb if I turn into a monster. Having my nightly cup of cranberry juice (cut in half with water) and looking forward to day 2. I feel much better equipped to make choices in reading all of your experiences. I guess we'll see. Good night.

Day two dawned clear and chilly. Love this time of year when the mornings are cool and the afternoons are pleasant. So far so good. I walked my two miles this morning and so far I've had a bowl of special K, two nutragrain bars and a cup of cheese crackers. Did break down on the coke though. Maybe drinking the diet coke isn't as bad. It just seems so hard to give up everything that I love. I still have to find ways to get my favorite things but in moderation. This may be the hardest for me, because once I start I can't stop. Off to drink some water. See you at bedtime.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm going to jump over now and check out the challenges. This is the worst time of day for me, so I'm staying busy.

PS. This is my 100th post!!!!

Lynn, welcome to the Wishboards! I love setting Disney weight goals too. You'll be looking awesome by your birthday. We're going to the F&W festival next month & I've set my festival goals. Congrats for continuing your weightloss!

Jane E- Thanks so much for the welcome!

I'm starting small and signed up for the 100 day cheat free challenge. Cheating is a huge problem for me and everyone there seemed very encouraging. I hope to encourage others as well.
My supper was a lean pocket and a small serving of scalloped tomatoes. I ended up with a total of four bottles of water and another mile on The Machine. Not too bad, huh? Just knowing someone is out there reading this definitely makes me take a second look at those cupcakes in the kitchen. I hear them calling me, but I will not obey them!! Leave me alone, wicked pastries! Time for bed. Once I brush my teeth, I'm home free and ready for day three. Until tomorrow.

Lynn -- You are doing GREAT!!! :cheer2: Hope you avoided the cupcakes for the rest of the night last night. :teeth:

Lots of props on keeping up with the exercise.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! I'm so excited! I got a Tiger Cheer!
Anyway, Day three. It's been rough. The hand is hurting and wh.)at usually comforts me? Chocolate. But no, I have been strong, but my bed time is getting earlier and earlier, so I can get to the next day. One good thing tomorrow is grocery day and I'm hoping to pick up some alternatives to my normal bad choices.
Breakfast-Special K and Half a slimfast shake (needed to take a pill.)
Snacks- two nutragrain bars
Lunch-yogurt and a cup of cheese cracker
Supper-Lean pocket

Exercise-two miles this morning and one this evening (It is so hard to find time to exercise once the children get home.)

Water-three bottles

I'm proud of myself! I'm hoping to visit some other journals tomorrow, but hubby wants the computer. Any suggestions for healthy snacks will definitely be welcomed. Thanks for listening.

Day four I'm still on track. I have it in the back of my Mind I have it that I can weigh at the doctor's on my follow up on Friday. It was grocery day so I tried to get some snacks and things. I found Fat free fudgie bars (Yum) so I can have a little treat every now and then.

Breakfast-Special K
Snack-fruit and Grain bar
Lunch-yogurt with grapenuts mixed in
Snack- Special K ba
Supper-Healthy choice sweet and sour chicken with steamed brocolli (OK)
Fat free fudgie bar

Water-two bottles (not so great but I was shopping and I hate to have to keep making pitstops.)
My daughter and I walked to school together (one mile there and one mile back) and I walked on the treadmill for one mile this evening.
Thanks for keeping me on track. Hope everyone is having a Mickey-riffic day! (this was written on the dryerase in my kitchen by my son this morning)

Is it day five already? I thought of y'all while I was lying in bed this morning and before you think something dirty, let me explain. I get up way early to walk, partially because it's the only time I can find for it and partially because I don't really wake up until after the first mile. The alarm went off and I lay there while that little devil that sits on my shoulder (and looks suspicously like a M&M guy) whispered, "You really don't want to get up and walk. The daughter was sick last night so you were up late and you need your rest." But then the little angel on the other shoulder (Who really is an angel but a lime green one) said," But what ever will you write in your journal? Is this really a good excuse? You weren't up any later that on SciFi Friday." What did I do? I dragged my lazy behind out of bed and did my two miles and it's because of you, dear reader. Because I couldn't think of an excuse good enough to fool you. Thanks.
I've got to say I think I'm doing Ok with the eating, but I am so hungry. I don't think I need to eat anything else, but I'm not sure.
Breakfast- Special K with half a banana
Snack-nutragrain bar
Lunch-yogurt with crunchies
Snack- Special K bar and cup of cheese crackers
Supper- Lean Pocket Chicken fajita

I was able to drink three bottle of water and walk another mile this evening. I hope I'll adjust soon. I am trying to be strong. Tomorrow is my follow up visit for my hand and I hope to weigh at the doctor's scale since that's where this started. Let you know how it goes. Hope you all are having a strong, determined and goal meeting day.

~~Lynn :flower: ~~

Well, today was followup at the doctor's and acoording to their scale I've gained a pound so I'm not feeling very hot right now. I felt like I'd made some changes and worked so hard this week and nothing. Even a half a pound would have been nice.
Breakfast-Special K with half a banana
Snack fruit and grain bar
Lunch yogurt with crunchies
Snack special K bar
Supper Lean pocket
Walked two miles this morning and drank two bottles of water.
Right now I'm just going to have my supper and go to bed. Sorry I'm less than inspirational. Good Night.

~~Lynn :flower: ~~

Welcome!!!

Keep going...It looks like you've made a lot of good changes in your diet.

Don't get discouraged, your doing absolutley awesome.

I've never trusted doctors scales, they are evil. Keep in mind that you have clothes on and shoes, that and unless your going to the doctors really early in the morning (you weigh less in the morning than you do in the afternoon and night) that the scale is also counting (your full bladder, your stomach contents) etc.

J4Dis, Thanks for the welcome! Everyone has been so sweet to me here.
And Rizel, thank you for the encouragement. I have been so down today and wouldn't you know it? Everyone is I've seen is asking, how's the diet going? I hate to say right down the tubes. :) So now I'll say I've made some changes and I'm hoping to see progress soon. I like that so much better.
Breakfast- special K with half a banana
Snack/ lunch- Muffin (not the best choice but I was at work with out my yogurt and it was my best option)
Supper-lean pocket
I know this is not much, but this medicine is messing with my stomach. Everything burns. I definitely do not want to go back to that doctor!
Anyway, hope you are all having a great Saturday full of fun. Won't post tomorrow, day of rest and all. See you on Monday.

~~Lynn :flower: ~~

I hope you're having a great weekend!

You're doing a good job sticking with it. I know results will come soon!

BTW, you cracked me up with the little M&M guy as the "devil" on your shoulder! :rotfl2: I think's that's what mine is going to look like from now on!

Just wanted to let you know what was happening if anyone was wondering about me. You remember how all this began, with my knuckle and the dumpster. Well, it seems that my tetanus (see I learned how to spell it :) ) shot was given improperly, and now I have nerve damage in my left arm. I went back to the bad doctor who tried to cover it up and made it worse. Finally, I went to my doctor and it is feeling some better, but it could be three weeks or more before I have full use again. Typing is rough, so I'm suspending my journal FOR NOW. My eating hasn't been too bad with all the stress, but I'm not exercising like I should. Thank you all for your support and I will continue to read your journals and post when I can. I still have dreams of being back to 140 before my birthday trip, but right now all my effort is going into healing this arm. Take care of yourselves and I'll be around, just out of the spotlight for awhile. LYMI
