Just got this off the National Weather Service forecast for Orlando:

Saturday: A chance of rain showers, snow showers, and sleet before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 43:scared1:. North northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

This is from the forecast discussion from the NWS:

CLOSE
EXAMINATION OF MODEL RAOBS DOES INDICATE SOME POTENTIAL FOR SOME
MIXED P-TYPE AS TEMP PROFILE GOES ISOTHERMAL (BTWN 0C AND 1C) WITH
SOME POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL (EVAPORATIVE) COOLING AS PRECIP
FALLING OUT OF SATURATED LYR FALLS INTO THE DEEPENING COLD POST-
FRONTAL AIR MASS. ASSUMING THE SMALL CONDITIONAL CHC...SEEMS SLEET
OR GRAUPEL WOULD BE MORE LKLY THAN WET FLAKES GIVEN THE TEMP PROFILE.
PROBABLY LIMITED TO A 4-6 HR WINDOW ACROSS THE NRN HALF CWA. BLYR
SHOULD BE TOO WARM FARTHER SOUTH SAT AFTN. SO...HAVE DECIDED TO GO
WITH RARE FCST OF SLGT CHC WINTER PRECIP. HAVE USED VERBIAGE TO
INDICATE -RA AS PRIMARY P-TYPE WITH SMALL PSBLTY FOR FROZEN PRECIP
MIXING IN...STARTING 09Z-12Z LAKE/VOLUSIA ***...12Z-15Z SOUTH TO
ORLANDO-COCOA AND 15Z OR SO DOWN THRU OSCEOLA/SRN BREVARD.

LIGHT FROZEN PRECIP LAST OCCURRED IN ECFL IN JANUARY 2003, AND ALSO
OCCURED IN NOVEMBER 2006 AND JANUARY 2008.

CAN`T EMPHAZSIZE ENOUGH JUST HOW NASTY OF A DAY SATURDAY WILL BE
WITH BRISK NORTHWEST WINDS...OVC SKIES AND TEMPS STRUGGLING TO RISE
TWD MAXES ONLY IN THE LOWER AND MID 40S ACROSS ALL BUT THE FAR SRN
CWA.

www.wftv.com Yes there is a small chance of snow. Chances are higher north of the Orlando area. It will be more like frozen ice pellets.

Whoa. I guess DH needs to call him mom, she lives in Deltona. Course we are in Fairbanks, Alaska ... so not much sympathy here either. :rotfl2:
Though we are in a heat wave right now ... its actually 10 Above! YEA!

Yikes, we're flying in to Orlando on Saturday morning. I hope the airport knows how to handle snow! :) Of course, we've had quite a bit up here in PA so far this winter, so it's nothing new for us!

Orlando does not keep deicing equipment nor do they have snowplows. On the news they were saying it takes a couple of days to get deicing equipment to Orlando. They were saying that they move the planes into the sun and hope that the ice thaws.

:lmao:

Sorry, but being from the Buffao area... that is just too too funny

Am i the only one who has no clue what jinkees are?? lol someone fill me in please :)

I believe the expression "jinkies" was used on the Scooby-Doo cartoons...mainly by Shaggy and Velma.

Yeah....but since its a Disney board I chose to interpret it as the breakfast cereal mentioned in the Adventurers Club that they push....awesome

Been here 2 weeks and had cold, frost and now possibly snow, I should have stayed home in Scotland

I'm from Ohio so I have no sympathy either.

I hope the weather warms up though when I go on a Disney Cruise at the end of January. I did not pay money to bring Ohio weather and temperatures with me to the Bahamas. :rotfl:

You Northerners will LOVE this one. I was just at a Church meeting, sitting at a table with a couple of native Floridians.(they're a rare breed, but I have met a handful) They're going to SET AN ALARM for 3:30 in the morning so they can see the snowflakes. :lmao:

The Jersey Girl in me had all I could do to keep from saying "Are you Demented???"

Native South Floridian here who just moved to TN (yes PeterPan09, we are a rare breed), and I just got stuck at work for 36 hours in my very first "snowed in" experience.

In other words, I have NO sympathy.

We have been back in Scotland now for a week - and I know where I'd rather be. Yes it was surprisingly cold in Orlando but nothing like here in Glasgow.
