Hey its me the Pumpkin King of Halloween JacksBack!! I was at Universal yesterday and I just want to say that Jimmy Nuetron is open for everyone in soft openning. No matter you have an annual pass or not, its open. The ride is pure fun. I waited 45 min for the ride last night.

In the que they are playing clips of Nick toons on the TV's. And they say that you that you will be taking a tour of Nick Toon studios today. I love how nobody in the que pays that much attention to the TVs. But when the Sponge Bob Square Pants theme music hits the TV's the WHOLE entire que of people all sing the song. Everbody there just Shuts up and sings the song. Its funny to see it happen. They play the song once every hour.

The pre show to this ride is a little disapointing. The room looks exactly the same as when Hana was there. Just a new paint job, thats it. The pre show story does not make that much sence and the animation of the Pre Show is a little weak. The Jimmy Neutron of the pre show is not as strong as the movie or the ride. Its looks like they cut a corner here. Once Cool thing about the Pre show is that they show a map of Nick Toon Studios. The Sound Stages on the monitor look and are painted exactily like the real life sound stages right out side. Its like Nick Toon Studios actually exists. There is even a lagoon where Sponge Bob lives that looks like the Jaws pool.

You enter the ride and it also looks like Hana, but these carts are new and improved. These new seats look like Feraries, while Hana's looked like Dodges. These babies are souped up. The Ride Begins and has some neat tricks, theres a little bit of smoke, alot of water effects with water spraying on you, and some cool lazer effects. And it looks like that Chicken Dance Finaly is going to be the talk of the town for awhile. The Lazer trick at the end is my favorite. The ride has alot of characters to take in. ANd is going to take me multiple rides to see it all.

The exit has an nick toon exibit, but it seems like its missing something. THe room just looks to big. THere is just not enough exibits in here yet. There is a mail box to send greeting cards by email, There is a sponge bob wall, a little interactive game for only three players (think You bet Jurassic at IOA) and some touch moniters. It just seems the room is missing something. THere is a wide open space in the middle that could handle something. You then enter the gift shop, and your on your way.

All in all for a cheap replacement attraction I think its great. I whish the thing was in 3D, but I guess their saving that for Shrek. Remember when riding this that its not supposed to be a huge E ticket attraction. Only an improvement attraction. The Big E ticket is going to be Shrek this year, with the Mummy next year. So just consider this ride a cherry on top of a Shrek ice cream sunday. I give this ride 7 out of 10 stars, and its a huge replacement over Hana, with lots of characters that kids now a days just love. Watch your child naming them all as you ride. Its a BLAST!!!!

Sponge Bob is a hit, it's what all the kids want to see.

Went up last week, bought my daughter the refillable Spong Bob mug thinking that would be good enough. Nope.

She goes up a week later to IOA on a school trip. I give her $20, and she takes $20 of her own. What does she bring home? A huge Sponge Bob pillow which costed $25, a smaller one, and a few things she won on the games.

She mentioned that someone won a huge Sponge Bob pillow on the games, but she bought hers.

To everyone going this year with kids, bring extra money.

We'll be going in December...our 3 yr. old loves Sponge Bob and Jimmy Neutron. Can't wait!!!

Yep, it's unofficially open. I wasnt sure yesterday, but my mom told me she rode it. Today I was asking people if they went on Jimmy, and those who did said they liked/loved it. Jimmy's gonna be a hit, especially with the Spongebob fans. :bounce:

I DL the video over on orlandorocks.com and from what I've seen it really is a fun ride. I don't however like the game area afterwards. Its too open, not enough going on. Maybe Nick has plans on putting more activities once the hooplah dies down?

That's good news. I hope they manage to get Shrek ready for soft openings at the end of May/early June.

We went to USF on Saturday morning. Got in line at the turnstiles at about 7:50am, and there was already quite a queue. Stopped for the bag check, so we barely missed the first ride, and got in for the second.

Overall, an nice update to the attraction. My 5 yo daughter loved it. When we went back to try it again on Sunday at about 11:30 am, the posted wait was 75 minutes (and from the look of the queue it seemed correct.) I asked the hostess if it was still limited to passholders, she said yes. I was amazed that many passholders were there to try it.

There is a really cool video of the Jimmy Neutron on OrlandoRocks. I got a chance to ride it on Sunday and loved it. I don't recommend anybody that doesn't want the story of the ride spoiled to watch the video though. They pretty much have all of it.

Keep up the good work at wdwinfo!!!

We (mom, 12YO son, and 20 YO son) will be at Universal April 27th-May 2nd. I have the Unofficial Guide to Universal and have studied the recommended touring schedule, but, with the changes that have taken place since the book was published (like opening of Jimmy Neutron, etc), I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on touring schedule now. I understand getting there early is the key, and we will definitely do that. Also, I think I understand that the week we'll be there is after most/many of spring breaks--is this true and what sort of crowds can we expect?

I apologize if I should have started a new thread on this, but I thought it might fit in with the opening of Jimmy Neutron and that other folks might have the same question.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi to be honest I don't know if a touring schedule works it depends on what u like to do most people u see head towards the nearest attraction we head straight to MIB do it a couple times then BTTF and just work back the way also don't forget u need a show time schedule also as the shows are not to be missed they are excellent not that many show times so we plan our day around the shows as well:)

So you're going after the Spring Break rush? If so, then the crowds wont be too busy.

We will be there May 4-7. Is there a height restriction? Do you have to be an AP holder or can anyone ride it? Do they have FOL access for resort guests? Thanks for info.

The ride is open to everyone now. The ride has Universal Express, so you can use your room key on it. As for height requirements, I think it's 36". If you're not 36", you can ride in the stationary seats.

Barry-

it doesn't have express yet, it should soon, but it does not right now.

Wow! We were right there with ya!!! :)

MIB999999 and I were at the turnstiles at about 7:45 and we had about 2 people ahead of us at the cutoff point for the 2nd ride, so we were in row 1, trying to understand what the heck they meant by "stand side by side" LOL We were going to walk side by side through the door after the preshow and get stuck, but decided we didn't have enough time since we had to be somewhere at 9! :jester:

RobertWalker and my sons made it just behind us, so they were several rows up from us, and I was yelling "Ryan" trying to get my sons attention, and he didn't hear me, or the other people who then began calling him also! That was us :)

Small world :)
