Hey its me the Pumpkin King of Halloween JacksBack!! I was at Universal yesterday and I just want to say that Jimmy Nuetron is open for everyone in soft openning. No matter you have an annual pass or not, its open. The ride is pure fun. I waited 45 min for the ride last night.
In the que they are playing clips of Nick toons on the TV's. And they say that you that you will be taking a tour of Nick Toon studios today. I love how nobody in the que pays that much attention to the TVs. But when the Sponge Bob Square Pants theme music hits the TV's the WHOLE entire que of people all sing the song. Everbody there just Shuts up and sings the song. Its funny to see it happen. They play the song once every hour.
The pre show to this ride is a little disapointing. The room looks exactly the same as when Hana was there. Just a new paint job, thats it. The pre show story does not make that much sence and the animation of the Pre Show is a little weak. The Jimmy Neutron of the pre show is not as strong as the movie or the ride. Its looks like they cut a corner here. Once Cool thing about the Pre show is that they show a map of Nick Toon Studios. The Sound Stages on the monitor look and are painted exactily like the real life sound stages right out side. Its like Nick Toon Studios actually exists. There is even a lagoon where Sponge Bob lives that looks like the Jaws pool.
You enter the ride and it also looks like Hana, but these carts are new and improved. These new seats look like Feraries, while Hana's looked like Dodges. These babies are souped up. The Ride Begins and has some neat tricks, theres a little bit of smoke, alot of water effects with water spraying on you, and some cool lazer effects. And it looks like that Chicken Dance Finaly is going to be the talk of the town for awhile. The Lazer trick at the end is my favorite. The ride has alot of characters to take in. ANd is going to take me multiple rides to see it all.
The exit has an nick toon exibit, but it seems like its missing something. THe room just looks to big. THere is just not enough exibits in here yet. There is a mail box to send greeting cards by email, There is a sponge bob wall, a little interactive game for only three players (think You bet Jurassic at IOA) and some touch moniters. It just seems the room is missing something. THere is a wide open space in the middle that could handle something. You then enter the gift shop, and your on your way.
All in all for a cheap replacement attraction I think its great. I whish the thing was in 3D, but I guess their saving that for Shrek. Remember when riding this that its not supposed to be a huge E ticket attraction. Only an improvement attraction. The Big E ticket is going to be Shrek this year, with the Mummy next year. So just consider this ride a cherry on top of a Shrek ice cream sunday. I give this ride 7 out of 10 stars, and its a huge replacement over Hana, with lots of characters that kids now a days just love. Watch your child naming them all as you ride. Its a BLAST!!!!
