By the way, did anyone else see that while Disney is cutting hours at the parks to save money, they just gave the actor Jimmy Smits more than $10 million to develop a pilot for ABC (they don’t even know if it’s going to be a drama or a comedy yet).

It’s nice to know where these savings are going.

OK, this conversation has *nothing* to do with Park Hours... I'm moving it to it's own little thread.

One of the themes that’s been running through the “Park Hours” thread is that reduced hours are a good thing and the move is Disney’s desperate attempt to save money. I find it interesting that the company is choosing to hurt their customers – with many on the board saying we should be grateful for the reduced hours – while other sections of the company squander money in rather questionable endeavors. To me it seems a lot less “desperate measures for desperate times” and more like an acceleration of previous trends (the parks are ATMs to be raided at will).

I was just asking for comment on a situation where it appears Disney is making its best customers sacrifice in order that other parts of the Company can continue with business as usual.
